If they both mirrored each other and they both liked what they saw in each other then maybe they could turn to their own mirrors and learn to like what they saw in themselves as well. Lani wasn’t sure what to make of the feeling that he would like to go through life with Odion by his side. He had pushed that aside and just acted and holding Odion in his arms it just felt right. He just wished he had been able to do so without it having to be a breaking point for Odion. And he was still hesitating. Odion had shot someone in the foot for him, who knew where he would be if Odion hadn’t been there. Perhaps if Odion hadn’t been kidnapped as well Lani might have gone to Odion for help or he might have tried to do it all on his own. Odion was still there for him even when Lani thought he didn’t need help.
Do you love me? Lani words echoed in Lani’s mind as though through a large abandoned hall because every thought he had had before had run in terror at those words. Lani’s eyes went wide and he couldn’t look away from Odions. Do you love me? Yes, the single courageous voice remaining in his head said and then others joined in adding doubt and terror. Yes was the easy answer, it would make Odion happy it would be something that he was sure would make the redhead smile again. But his heart hammered and his body stiffened in terror. Why had the answer come so easily? Did he love Odion? Why couldn’t he love Adrianna? Had his heart already been given to someone else? What if he said yes and he wasn’t ready for what came after? What if he wasn’t ready? “I…” Lani’s voice failed him.
What if his answer wasn’t ‘yes’? What if Odion decided he wasn’t worth it anymore? It was a ‘yes’ or ‘no’ question it shouldn’t be this hard! Lani’s jaw clenched and unclenched as his mind turned in a million different directions. Lani could hear his heart pounding in his chest and it was making all of the voices in his head deaf and shouting. He squeezed Odion’s hand and focused on his blue eyes. Do you love me? Yes. Lani swallowed he didn’t want Odion to hate him for his skittishness but he wasn’t sure he was ready for love. What if Lani wasn’t ready for a relationship? What if Lani screwed it all up? He opened his mouth and wanted so badly to say that one word that he felt in his heart. But what came out wasn’t even close. “I’ve never been in love…” He muttered. He closed his eyes knowing he had chosen the wrong answer. Why couldn’t he just say what he wanted to say?
He kept hold on Odion’s hand and opened his eyes to look into those blue eyes his eyes showing an apologetic expression. This was still new; he didn’t want to rush into it. He gulped waiting for Odion to say something or do something. He was such an idiot. He was always saying that Odion should let people in let people help him. Was he being a hypocrite? Lani was here holding Odion and he wanted to always be here at Odion’s side and yet he couldn’t say that one word. Yes, yes, say it! Yes! Lani closed his eyes and he was pretty sure his heart was going to burst. Do you love me? Lani wanted to cry out yes but his mind was screaming for him to not say anything. He looked into Odion's blue eyes and he knew and he was sure the battle he was having internally was on his face for the world to see. "I'm afraid," Lani finally admitted in a shameful voice.
