Nothing was going to get her down. Absolutely nothing. Her parents could hate her and want nothing to do with her, she didn't care. Riley could screw with her mind, toy with her, she didn't care. That was Layla, the girl that took it all and never gave a shit about anyone because of it. Who needed them when she could find other people that treated her better? Like her best friend? Sophie was a life-saver in more ways than she thought and she would always have her. So why did she bother with anyone else? Maybe she should take Sophie up on one of those blind dates she's always trying to pull. Clearly she was getting nowhere with the guy she thought she had a thing for. If he was going to be that way, she was done trying to persuade him otherwise.
Due to the soreness of her most recent body art, Lay had decided to wear something that didn't rub against the raw area. It also happened to be a bit more revealing, but she wasn't going anywhere quite yet, so it didn't really bother her. If her parents came home and had a problem with it, she'd tell them to shove it and that it wasn't like she was out in public. It also would give them a perfect view of the script written across her ribs. It was only a glimpse, yet it would send them over the edge. She also wore yoga shorts that hung low enough to not rub up against the bat symbol on her hip either. Yeah, she was all about being comfortable and not worrying about irritating the skin further.
As she sat in her room, finishing her nails and waiting for them to dry, she turned on her playlist from her laptop and the first song that popped up was the theme song for her guilty pleasure. Her and Sophie had grown to love Mamma Mia and though she'd never admit it out loud, she loved the music. As the song started blasting through her speakers she stood up on her bed and acted out Meryl Streep as she mouthed the words. She thought nothing of the lyrics and she didn't care how ridiculous she looked, she was having the fun that she desperately needed in an empty house where she didn't have to worry about a thing.
Ha, or so she thought.
