Today's the dance, and you have a date. An actual date. One that isn't just going with you because they feel sorry for you and your awkwardness, but rather because he actually wants to go with you. So why are you still freaking out? Oh yeah because you're looking at yourself in the mirror in your Evening gown Barbie costume and realizing that where she is stacked with a perfect hourglass figure, you look like a twelve year old boy with no boobs and no butt. Fantastic.
Ellie twirled one of her curls around her finger as she stared at the mirror and frowned. What was she doing? She didn't go to dances. And if she did, she didn't dance. She was a wallflower, the person that stood back and watched everyone enjoy themselves, people watching at its finest. But she couldn't do that this year, oh no. She was going with her...uhm...boyfriend? Oh heck if she knew. She wanted to be boyfriend and girlfriend again, honestly, but wasn't a little too fast? She just screwed over a different relationship what a month ago? Maybe she should do just what she told Carter she was going to do. Give up on boys because clearly she was not cut out for this whole relationship thing.
But then she thought back, back to the conversation she had with Jack just before he asked her to the dance. If she started getting in over her head, she could talk to him. She trusted him, didn't she? Of course, how could she not? Her nerves started waning and she took a deep breath to shoo them away. This was Jack, the boy that she developed her first crush on. Her first boyfriend. Clearly there was something there that made her want him back even if she knew it was a bad idea. She trusted him and she really cared about him. He made her disregard the fact that she had the body of a twelve year old boy, he made her feel better about herself. He made her stop comparing herself to every other girl she saw.
Elisia looked down at the text from Adrianna and sighed, she wanted a picture. Of course. Her teeth gnawed on her lower lip and she positioned the phone away from her so that Adrianna would get the full picture. After sending it, she looked up at the clock on her bedside table. Just a few more minutes until she had to meet with Jack. Her phone buzzed rather quickly and she tapped on the screen to see what Adrian would say. And of course, she was just being nice. Lookin' hot girly, hope you have a great time. Tell that boy to keep his hands to himself or I'll cut them off. Love you xoxo. Still, it made Ellie relax and she smiled. Showtime.
She was supposed to meet Jack on the bottom floor so they could walk to the Auditorium together and so she slipped out of her room, making sure the coast was clear and headed downstairs, fiddling idly the entire time. When she finally made it to the bottom common area, she looked around and bit her lips. Luckily most people were already headed to the auditorium and she didn't have to worry about them all staring at her.
