Heavenly (Open!)

George sat in her dorm, bored as any other person with nothing to do. She had done nothing of interest the whole morning and it seemed that today was going to be a wasted day. So she did what any other normal person would do. She got up and moved around. She unzipped one of her suitcases which held everything that she owned which was electrical, and out came her PS3, along with a drawstring bag containing a couple of awesome games, including a new one which she had been dying to try all week. After collecting all of the appropriate wires and the like, she trundled on down the stairs, careful not to make her hat fall off as she almost fell down the stairs from the fact she couldn't see her feet. Eventually, she got down to the first floor and turned to go into the common area. Luckily enough for her, no one was using the TV.

After a few minutes of plugging in, unplugging and flicking switches, on came the TV with the PS3 menu shining in her face. She pulled a beanbag over, grabbed a controller and threw it onto her seat. She delved into her bag and pulled out the game, "Beyond: Two Souls" and placed it in the console, careful not the scratch the shiny new disc. She fell back onto the beanbag and a little squeak of pain came out of her mouth as her body landed on her controller. She dug it out from underneath her body and pressed play. She had been itching to play this game for ages; the reviews were amazing and from what she'd seen, the story was outstanding, she couldn't wait to dive right in.

Several things could catch Peyton's attention when wafting upon the crisp Vermont air, and one of those things was the sound of a PS3 booting up.

Or, okay, he happened to be on his way back from another late morning swim and he passed the common area.

Point was - PS3!

Swinging his bag to his side, he swiftly approached and vaulted over the back of the couch in front of the tv, landing with a grin. Seeing the girl in the beanbag a little in front of him, he jerked his chin up at her. "Hey." Looking back to his real focus - the tv screen, he started to speak, "What game-" but then stopped as the game began to load.

Enthralled? Hypnotized? No, of course not. Peyton was just paying very very close attention. And he no longer felt a need to speak. It wasn't that he couldn't, really. ....He just chose not to. He could totally talk if he wanted to, he just felt no need to complete the thought or introduce himself or do anything that might distract from the images on the screen.

Once the title screen had loaded, he was finally free of his spell.

"Sweet. Same guys who did Heavy Rain, right?" He had seen the video a few months back, but wasn't really keeping up with it. Heavy Rain was okay - great plot - but the graphics were... well, really, the facial animation was just disappointing. He'd kind of shrugged off the new release, deciding to save his money for his primary interests. But it looked interesting, that was for sure.

Also - how had he not noticed this - girl.

The game had somehow distracted him from noticing that this was a girl playing this game. A gamer. A gamer girl. Holy shit, and she was pretty cute too.

George heard someone's voice whilst the game loaded and the opening titles played but at the time, she honestly couldn't care less. If anything, they were interuppting the experience and it got on her nerves a little, so she was glad that they stopped speaking after letting out a few words. The menu loaded up and their voice arrived at George's ears once more, speaking of one of her favourite games, Heavy Rain, "Yea, these are the same guys. I loved Heavy Rain, I mean, I understand that they could've fine tuned a few details and upped the graphics before it's release, but I love the idea of controlling how the game goes. It really immerses you into the story and it makes it feel even more like real life." She liked a lot of different games, from action to strategy to puzzle, but her favourite was the one's which actually made you think about the future and the consequences of your choices. She'd played The Walking Dead and the first chapter of the Wolf Among Us too, and had enjoyed them immensely as well. Also, she didn't care if she'd just given a whole gaming spiel to this complete stranger, gaming was one of her passions and the guy showed an interest.

Speaking of, that guy was pretty hot. She was amazed that they hadn't run into each other before; they looked to be around the same age and she'd used her PS3 a million times before. She didn't really care for the details in the end though, she now had the company of a cute guy, they isn't a need to question that! She looked him up and down, letting the game's amazing music flow through the speakers in the background. That's when she noticed his shirt. "Oh man, I love your T-shirt, Portal is so awesome! Probably one of the best games I've ever played." She heard her British accent and only then realised how much it clashed against his American one.

Of course, she had technically been living in America for 3 years, but practically every holiday she would go back to England to stay with her parents, and she watched a lot of British YouTubers, so her accent stuck. Some people called it adorable, but she thought it made her sound obnoxious, which isn't a good trait.

Dude, she totally knew what she was talking about. Peyton nodded at her points. "I guess I'm just too visual - the whole 'sad doesn't look sad' thing kinda pulled me out of it." He shrugged. "Great game though - I totally agree there." And at that he bit his tongue. It had been a while since he played, she probably knew more about it than he did, and he wasn't eager to get into an argument.

He lit up when she complimented his shirt. It was a personal favorite - okay, so actually all of his shirts were favorites. It combined two fantastic games: Portal and Bioshock Infinite, and it was just a pretty awesome shirt. Peyton was no stranger to awesome shirts. He had quite the collection. "First: YES. Portal is definitely one of the best games ever. But, I just have to point out - it's Booker and Elizabeth. I'm sorry, but Bioshock is like my favorite franchise ever. Or... yeah, I think I can claim it's my number one." It was hard to rank things, he tended to just clump all of his favorite games into one category, but Bioshock did tend to edge things out, even if only barely.

Her accent had definitely caught his interest. His best friend, Ryder, was also from England. So was that girl, Rya. Maybe Brits were just awesome people. That seemed to be the case so far, anyway. And he wasn't about to argue.

"Sorry - I don't want to interrupt. This is new, right? First play? Mind if I sit in on it?"

George smiled as he spoke. She hadn't been able to talk about gaming like that in ages, and it was cool that there was somebody else who liked it and knew enough about it to talk about it. She was no expert herself, but she would take her experiences from the game and those would shape her opinion.

She smacked her forehead (which made her hat fall off) when he mentioned Booker and Elizabeth, "I'm a total dunce, how did I not see that?" She sighed to herself, shaking her head. "I haven't played Bioshock in ages though, maybe I should get it out sometime..." she rambled on. She cared for her games like they were babies; she honestly felt personally guilty that she handed played that game in a while.

She smirked when he asked about sitting in, "Sure, if you don't mind a running commentary. Also, if you're gonna sit in, I would to know your name, please." She looked into his eyes and... oh boy that was problematic. She didn't know two things about flirting, but she already really liked this guy, and she didn't wanna muck anything up. I mean, he would make a really good friend. There was nothing wrong with being friends. Really.
