Adam makes one of the worst first impressions you are likely to ever encounter. Insecure, aggressive, with an aftertaste of Aspergers and hair-trigger temper. His single-minded passion and genius for mathematics is so exceptional that he stood out even at MIT. Much more comfortable in the abstract realm than in the one where you have to talk to people. Started teaching at Hammel to be with his sister, and with great effort has managed to not make anyone hate him too much yet.
Friends
Adam wants friends. He really does. The problem is that he is intimidated by everyone and better at pole vaulting than small talk. If you want to be friends with him, start by not being scary. Next, be really good at something, preferably math or science. Then talk to him about it, nicely. Now you have an awkward, diligent nerd-buddy who will geek out with you forever.
Not-so-friends
If you catch him on a bad day, virtually anyone can dislike Adam. There is not much to like about a snarling, dismissive, badly-dressed mathematician. He will be horrible to anyone who makes him feel threatened. He doesn't like dogs. He hates when other people chuckle and say they were never any good at math. He holds mundane conversation with all the charm of a two-by-four.

Nory, as she's known to her friends (of which she has many), is affectionate, likable, and thrives in chaos. An eternal optimist, but her moods can change rapidly and she always lives on the extreme ends of the emotional spectrum. Empathetic, manipulative, and resourceful. Her genuinely sweet temperament can make it difficult to detect when she's lying, and her inclination to deception often makes her plans needlessly complicated. Cries easily, and can do so on command.
Friends
Does your character have a pulse? Nory wants to be their friend. She knows everybody, tries her best to like everybody, and always has a ready smile. Will convince people to go on crazy adventures. Gives out Valentines to everyone.
Not-so-friends
Some people find Nory's antics endearing. Other people find them really, really annoying. Her anger, though short-lived, is vicious when roused, and she once punched a girl in the mouth who cheated on one of her friends. She mistrusts those with lie-detecting powers, and those unwilling to turn a blind eye to her well-meaning exaggerations may find her difficult to get along with.

Rhea is the person you want in your group in the event of a zombie apocalypse. She is even-tempered, cocky, believes in direct solutions and is not afraid to get her hands dirty. Her size and confidence (sometimes tactlessness) can make her intimidating, but she is easygoing and quick to laugh. Her strong moral center and tremendous bravery coexist with a proud, bloodthirsty streak. Rarely seen out of uniform or gym clothes, but can stop traffic in a pair of Daisy Dukes. She does not want to may possibly be persuaded date you.

Good-humored and always willing to lend a helping hand, Rhea makes acquaintances easily. She is perpetually looking for running partners and people to join her basketball team. Enjoys road trips, rivalries, pedicures, and talking about other people's love lives.

Rhea is profoundly uninterested in books, philosophy or fantasy. She sees little reason to endear herself to intellectuals and finds their condescending attitudes extremely irritating. She is prone to snap judgements and underestimating those she deems naive or incompetent. While not nearly as quick to resort to violence as would be expected from a boxing champion, those who force her hand will find her cold, indiscriminate and brutally effective.
