Time Warp: We Shall Burn Together (Nate)

House, a kid and a guy; Check. Things was... Great. Lux wasn't quite sure how else to put it. It was wonderful, perfect, splendid and she was genuinely happy. Great. Perfectly great. If anyone had asked her six years ago where she'd be, she wouldn't have been able to imagine this. And if someone had told her this was how she'd end up, she'd probably laugh. But, here she was. She had a two year old son named Brody Nicholas Darwin, and of course, Nathan Darwin; The Hammel jock who had captured the timid girl's heart and taken it for his own, locking it away and cherishing it.

Sitting in the couch, watching Brody play with his superhero action figures (They totally weren't dolls!). She curled up in the couch and pulled the blanket over her feet. ''Brody, dear. Can you go wash up? Breakfast's going to be ready in a bit.'' Before Brody was born, Lux had had trouble imagining herself being a mother, but now? Now she couldn't think of anything that could be more wonderful. Surely it helped to have such a sweet boy. ''Okay!'', the boy called out happily, a second later standing to his feet and ran up the stairs.

Between the two different possibilities of powers, it made Lux wonder what kind of ability their son would end up with. Shapeshifting, adaption or something completely different? It put a smile on her face, thinking about Brody's future. She couldn't wait to see who he'd grow up to become. He looked so much like his father, the same clear, blue eyes, the color of his hair and the facial features were so similar it was hard to see any resemblances from herself. Well, at least Nathan would have a hard time trying to lie that child away from him. Not that he'd ever try, but the thought was still amusing.

Finally rising to her feet, Luxanna pulled the blanket away and folded it nicely on the couch before heading towards the staircase. It was still fairly early in the morning, and Nathan needed all the sleep he could get, but that didn't necessarily mean Lux was going to be so nice about it. Walking up the stairs and heading towards their bedroom, Lux couldn't keep the little devilish smirk off her face as she opened the door.

With a few steps, she leaped into the bed, pulling the blanket away and wrapped her ice cold hands around Nathan's waist. ''Hi there, grandpa. You're missing the morning news. The prices on adult diapers are going up, so it seems like you're out of luck.'', she whispered and planted a kiss on the back of his neck.

Oh, she was probably soooo going to regret this.

How things managed to work out the way they had, Nathan would never really know. He had a house, was going to college, had a job, a kid and...the most perfect girl in the entire world. How? Six years ago, he would have laughed at the thought of him and Luxanna even being in a real relationship, let alone married with a child. He'd courted her forever it seemed before she showed him how she felt. In the end, he felt like it was for the best, and it was worth everything to him. He wouldn't have changed anything if he was able to because everything was perfect the way it was. He was happier than he ever could have imagined being and he had everything he could ever want in the world.

Nathan always thought back when he first started liking Lux that she'd look right over him because he wasn't good enough. That was also the point in time that he was convinced that since everyone saw him as 'Nick's little brother' he'd never amount to anything more. The bitterness towards his brother faded faster than it had come on and he was happy that things stayed the way they were. Nick was probably the greatest brother Nate could have been given and even though he never said it, he was happy to be so much like his brother. They were different, sure, but with similar mindsets, Nick had helped him get through the tough times when he was sure Lux had no interest. Only because ya know, if there was no Nick, there was no Kadence. And without Kadence, he never would have known what to do on a date with someone so shy and awkward.

Okay, but really now, Nick had talked him down a lot, too. When Nate was frustrated because she wasn't showing him any signs like the other girls had, Nick told him that it was normal for a girl of that personality type. She was scared, she was shy, maybe she didn't even know what she was feeling. In the end, Nathan had calmed down and continued on his trek to making her fall for him, the way that he'd fallen for her.

With his face smashed into the pillows beneath him, he grumbled in his sleep. Nathan was passed the fuck out because between work, school and raising his son and keeping his wife happy, he was exhausted. Of course not all of it was that bad, he loved his quality time with Brody because even with as much as he looked like his father, Brody acted like his mother. That was probably the best part about him. And spending time with Luxanna after Brody was in bed or busy keeping himself occupied, made everything else that he was doing worth it. She always managed to make everything better for him.

Well...

Until she leaped on him and smashed his face deeper into the pillows.

Nathan groaned and grumbled and cursed into his pillow because it was far too early for him to be awake. When she finished her little spiel, he rolled over and pinned her down against the bed, rolling so that he was now laying on top of her with his full weight (that was now about the same size as Nick had been around this age) and he nuzzled her cheek, "Why do I need to know the prices when you're the one that is supposed to be doing the shopping, Buttercup?" He propped himself up and looked down at her. "You're beautiful, you know that?" He smiled and kissed her lips before she could retort or smack him or anything.

"Where's B at?" He asked as he rolled off of her.

Before she knew it, Nate (After groaning and grumbling like a spoiled little child) had her pinned against the bed. Her tiny body felt crushed under his weight, but it didn't keep her from smiling. Though, his sexist comment did. But before she could react, he was sucking up to her and pressing his lips against her. However, he was met with a glare. Lux surely wasn't as timid, innocent and shy anymore, but the sass was still there. Just magnified. Though, when Nate finally pulled back enough for her to speak, the glare had been replaced with a smile. ''You're such an idiot.'' An sexist idiot at that. ''And you're heavy, you fatty.''

Okay, he wasn't really fat. Far from it actually. But Lux was the same size she had been when she was at Hammel and only stood 5'3 above ground and standing next to Nathan, she looked awfully tiny. What was it about these Darwin boys and short women?

Lux sat up and rested her hands in her lap as she crossed her legs. ''He's being a good boy - unlike someone else. He's washing up before breakfast.'' As much as Nathan deserved to be smacked, he always seemed to get away it, simply from being adorable. Lux was glad though, she wasn't much of a fighter and tried her best to avoid arguments. Especially when Brody was under the same roof.

Brody came running in, minutes later and crawled up into the bed. He sat down in his mother's lap and tugged her shirt. ''Guess what?'', Lux said and smiled as she ruffled Brody's hair. ''What?'', the boy asked enthusiastically. ''Daddy's making breakfast.'' She then turned to look at Nate with a smirk. Karma's a bitch. ''REALLY??', the boy asked, his voice filled with excitement and joy. Then they both turned to look at Nathan, Lux's face still lit up by a smirk.

"All muscle, baby. Then again, I don't need to tell you that," He smirked and pecked her lips again. After all, she had done her fair share of examining his body, just as much as he had hers. It wasn't like he was going to deny it. He knew he was well built and that he was now just the same size as Nick who claimed he had the body of a god. So for her to call him fat, well, it was rather laughable. "And I'm your idiot, don't forget that. You're the one that found it possible to be attracted to this huuuuge ego of mine," He winked and kissed down her cheek to her jaw before rolling off of her.

Nate smiled, "If anything, you're a shrimp." He stretched his arms up above his head and watched her as she sat up. Rolling his eyes again, he snorted, "My boy? Being good? Soak it up now, that's all gonna change when he becomes a teenager, babe." Especially with an uncle like Nick and a cousin like Hayden. Even Kadence knew that both boys were goners. It was all about accepting it and putting the smack down on them when they turned into their fathers. That's what his mom had done to Nick...not so much him though because he was the baby and Mom liked him more, but that was beside the point.

Hearing little footsteps come charging down the hall, Nate prepped himself for the crazy 'good boy' that his son was. And like father like son, he crawled up right next to Mom and sucked up to her. Nathan scrunched his nose and shook his head. That kid was going to be hell on wheels when he was older. A reeeal ladies man, just like the rest of the Darwin boys.

He loved watching Brody with Lux though because she had turned out to be a great mom, just like he always knew she would be. Any doubts he might have had or that she might have had evaporated when B was born and they both just fell into the role of being a parent. Well, until she totally pulled the revenge card and beat him with it. Brody turned to him and he just narrowed his eyes at Luxanna. She'd be getting payback later on. "Only if you want slugs in your pancakes and ants in your cereal," He smirked and the little boy's eyes widened before turning back to his mother's face. Nathan just gave her a pleasant smile.

''Oh shut up.'', she said and rolled her eyes. Granted, she was unable to keep the smile off of her face because even if she didn't want to admit it, he was charming. Always had been, probably always would be. No, all Lux could do was curse that damn Darwin charm and hope Brody wouldn't end up being a manwhore. Then again, with her luck, he'd probably be worse than his father and uncle combined.

Running her fingertips over the fabric on the blanket, Lux shook her head. ''We'll see about that.'', she said, nodding determined. Nope, Brody was going to stay sweet and innocent forever. Yep. (No.)

Luxanna wrapped her arms around Brody's tiny body and kissed the top of his head, rolling her eyes at Nathan's comment. Sure, he'd go there. Of course he did. But, that didn't mean the fight was lost. Oh no, Lux had several more tricks up her sleeve and there was no chance in hell she was letting that cocky idiot (whom she loved oh so much) get away with it. ''He's kidding.'', she said and stood up. ''And he's a little scared because he knows he doesn't do too good in the kitchen.'' She turned her head and smirked as she lifted up Brody.

Now completely ignoring her lazier half, Lux kneeled down only to let go of Brody, patting his head. ''What do you say about the two of us going to the park later?''
