Gaging interest for Spring Play: Romeo and Juliet

Spring semester is coming and what better to study in the spring than Shakespeare?! Ahh yes, the tales of love, tragedy, comedy, and all in a language high schoolers find absolute jibberish. 

To make matters worse, Miss Faye LaBeau has decided to get in contact with the theater department, and to keep her students interested given them the option to either write a paper or audition for the play but is strongly encouraging the later. She sees this as a great opportunity for students to explore text in a different way as well as make friends with people they might not have otherwise. 

How will this be different? There are a few things that may be different with Hammel's version of R&J that will be decided upon further gaging of interest. A musical version is on the table as well as having Romeo Meta and Juliet not or vice versa to further relate it to the students.

Rowan and Ellie both would love to do it. Ellie's a singer, Rowan is not, but they both dance.

And I'm super horrible because I'm going to make Nathan and Dextra both help out be it backstage or on stage, it doesn't really matter :3

Oriel's definitely in on this. He sings and dances and probably has more of the play memorized than he realizes.

The Quinns would be involved if it had music, but they'd be willing to work backstage otherwise.

Anthony sings too but probably shouldn't ever act. But he'll take any part like a trooper.

Totally intereted! Rain would totally act since she is in the drama club. She can sing, too lol.

Also Onya if I get her finished and she's accepted by the time this happens, she is more of a backstage person... She could totally work on costumes.

And I already told you Hay-lin was in.

Appoline isn't in drama, but she is in the art club. I can see someone thinking she's a background filler character and forcing her into a costume when she'd rather be a set designer. xD And with the Quinns around, this could have a little spite drama mixed in~


Otherwise, all I have are admins and a teacher, so unless you want older people in the play (or to have shenanigans by casting the shyest girl in the school as the main female lead and have her dad on-stage, too), that's all I got. x3

My twins, Forrest and Skye Cheng, are drama nerds and very enthusiastic dancers. They'd be all over it.

Roger can do costumes.

And we can chat more about this, but I'm thinking maybe Hay-Lin directs and Melody choreographs? Even if we don't do the musical version, she can still do the blocking.

[Carleigh Davidson]

Carleigh wouldn't mind taking part in this in a minor role without any singing parts.

[Asher Hayes]

Asher can sing and play many instruments. If it's a musical, he can be part of the live band or even try out acting and play an actual part.

[Gryphon Matsuoka]

George can sing and perform, and act quite well, although she isn't in any clubs (but that might change in the future) She would be ecstatic to take part!

Gryph would also want to take part, he can sing as well as being a very talented dancer. Both are up for anything!

I can't think of anything to suggest, but if something springs to minds I'll edit it in! <3 I love this idea though.

Ok guys this will definitely be happening and more info will be up by next weekend. I have to regroup since the person who was heading this with me is no longer on the site and also my classes are starting tuesday. but this WILL be a thing
