Rubbing her eyes at how tired she was suddenly feeling, Sawyer opened the door to her apartment to find Rowan face down on the couch in the living room. Whatever doubt she had about the man vanished right then as her smile softened.

Breaking News. Sawyer Lynn was whipped.

Closing the door quietly, Sawyer took a quick shower and dressed for comfort before going to the kitchen to whip up her partner's favourite pancakes with strawberries. She poured out a mug of steaming coffee and went over to the couch, crouching beside it with the mug held near the dancer.

"Row?" Sawyer cleared her throat and patted him on the shoulder to wake him up.

Holy balls, Rowan was wiped out and exhausted. Dancing and teaching and everything else pretty much had him tired constantly. The previous day had sent him into a hardcore coma-like state as soon as he got home. He fell to the couch without getting changed, without showering and without knowing any of what was going on. He was so tired!

The fact that he hadn't called Sawyer hadn't crossed his mind, but as he slept, he dreamed about her. All that he could really see were swirls and shit. And then there was her, amazingly beautiful and bright and just her. The girl that he was absolutely hooked on and that he simply couldn't imagine being without. In his sleep he mumbled incoherently, but in the dream he was saying it. The 'L' word.

The scent of fresh coffee distracted his senses though and his eyelids fluttered as he groaned and grumbled, "Five more minutes. Just f-" He took in another whiff of the hot beverage and peeked open an eye, "Okay, maybe I'm ready to wake up now."

Rowan grunted as he sat up and he felt his muscles tightening and paying him back for putting them through hell. "Ow," He muttered before cracking his neck and looking at his girl with a sleepy smile. "Good morning, beautiful." And that was when all of the questions started popping up as his mind woke, "Shit! When'd you get in last night? I forgot to call, I literally crashed right as I fucking got home. I'm soooo sorry. Did Luck or Penelope drop you off? Fuck, fuck, fuck I'm such a dick."

Sawyer waved the mug around until Rowan finally woke up. With a smile she gave him a little wave, moving away when he moved to stretch.

She sat on the coffee table in front of the couch and put the mug beside her, her eyes widening at the sudden outburst. She chuckled and patted her boy's knee. "Calm your tits, babe. Everything's fine." She shrugged, making a note that she had said the exact same thing last night with such different connotations. It seemed like ages ago now.

"I came back myself. After forcing them not to get out of the house just to send me to the car. You know them." She shrugged and handed him his coffee. "I made pancakes. Go freshen up and I'll bring them over here. We'll switch on cartoons or something."

Rowan looked up at her a little sheepishly as she patted his knee. He felt horrible. This was what happened when he worked himself half to insanity in one night. He forgot about his own girl and her whereabous and safety. What kind of guy did that? How did she even put up with him? God she was going to leave him one of these days because he wasn't worth her time.

He frowned slightly, "I'm just glad you got home okay. God I still can't even believe I crashed like that. What is the matter with me?" He ran his hand through his hair and shook his head in frustration. He'd have to call Lucy later on and thank her for taking care of Sawyer. He was so happy to have such an amazing best friend that was probably better to his own girl than he was. Fuck.

Nodding slightly he stood up and knelt down to press his lips to the top of her head, "You're amazing, I'll be right back to enjoy the fantastic breakfast that awaits me." He offered her a smile and tapped her nose before heading to the bathroom to brush his teeth and change out of his workout clothes.

Within a few minutes he was fresh and back to his awake, and sexy self.

Knowing how bad Rowan felt about not getting to her on time, Sawyer rubbed his temple with her thumb, something she had taken to doing out of habit. Though she still wasn't sure that it was reassuring to him, she did it just to let him know that all was fine.

"Row, come on. It's fine. You're fine. You're...more than fine but that's something we can discuss in bed later." Sawyer forced a trademark smirk on her face, making light of the situation.

It took every fiber of her being not to stop bawling her eyes out when the kiss came upon her head. It made her heart beat fast and her hand to instinctively curl around his wrist, pulling him down for a while before letting him go. It was such a telling move from the voice mimic that she was briefly afraid that the aerokinetic would pick up on it.

She gave a small sweet smile at the nose tap and let it remain there until he disappeared into the bathroom. Releasing a sigh, the smile dropped and she crashed on the couch, exhausted. She used her feet to drag the remote control across the table and to her hand and switched on the flat screen, flipping through channels until the familiar Warner Brothers theme song came on. The voice mimic threw the controller to her side and waited for her partner to come back.

Sawyer was genuinely laughing at the antics of Daffy Duck as he got blown up yet again by his arch nemesis when Rowan came back. "Come on, before your coffee gets cold." Sawyer called out, smiling as she watched him make his way over to her. Thoughts about making him leave weighed on the lawyer. How could she ask him to? He was so...ridiculously amazing.

Her touch caused him to close his eyes briefly and he relaxed. No matter what she did, she always did make him feel better. More so than he'd ever thought was possible from anyone outside of Lucy and Beatrice. Sawyer helped him a lot with his problems with physical intimacy. Never taking things further than what he could handle, but always there.

As soon as she smirked though, he felt normal and reassured. "Is that a threat or a promise?" He smirked back at her and laughed. Just another part of them that he loved. Always acting so childish, but in the most loving way.

Rowan smiled faintly as she kept him down to her level for a little longer. Had he been a little more on top of things (not in /that/ way) he might have caught on to what was really going on or at least to be suspicious. But all seemed well, he was reassured and she was home. He was with her and that was all that he cared about in that moment.

With a pep in his step, he walked out of the bedroom to find her sitting on the couch watching cartoons. The sight caused him to smile wide. He was definitely into this girl. More than he could really express. He came up behind her and rested his arms on the back of the couch before leaning in to kiss her jaw, "The coffee and food can wait, I just want to see my girl for a little bit, then I'll eat." He nuzzled her cheek and smiled at her. "Can I do that? Pretty please," He stuck out his lower lip and gave her puppy dog eyes.

"When have I ever had to threaten for sex?" She raised her eyebrow suggestively with a deep smirk. It was so much easier to fall back on to her own brand of humour than to deal with the seriousness of her thoughts. And it was a good thing that Rowan always managed to indulge her in it.

When he came back with a kiss to her jaw, Sawyer circled one hand around his neck, pulling him down while she looked up to give him an upside down kiss. She slowly breathed him in as she deepened the kiss while her fingers buried itself in his hair.

"Never been able to resist that face of yours." The voice mimic mumbled into the kiss, not wanting to break contact.

"Fair point, threatening sex is not okay. It has to be a promise because otherwise it's just mean," He Laughed. Seriously though, Rowan could handle a bit of teasing and torture, but after all of that, he expected something to happen. And if it didn't, well, that was just bull shit on a stick.

Rowan braced himself on the back of the couch so that he didn't end up completely flipping over the couch. That would have been bad, and embarrassing. Her fingers in his hair soothed him further and he brushed his fingertips of one hand along her collarbone.

"Who could?" He smirked against her lips and kissed her again. "I reeeeallly missed you for what it's worth."

"So mean. Especially when it comes with that ten pack of yours." Sawyer bit her lower lip suggestively as her eyes wandered down his shirtless body. "God, how did I get lucky with such an eye candy." She moaned lightly, licking her lips before laughing.

The kiss lasted a few moments and Sawyer let it. This, this was easy. Her boy giving her exactly what she wanted, the physical contact that kept them going strong, this is what she needed. She couldn't throw all this away. If she did, what else did she have?

One might argue, she still had her successful career, amazing apartment overlooking the beautiful Pilot Ridge landscape, her hobby that allowed her to splurge every now and again, and her friends. She still had those if she let Rowan go.

But what was the point of letting go of the one person that made all of this worthwhile?

Sighing at his words, Sawyer stroked his cheeks and pulled him down even further. "Come down here you romantic buffoon. Give your sugar mama some sugar."

"Ten pack?" He laughed and shook his head. She fed his ego way too often sometimes, it was a wonder he could fit his giant egotistical face through the door. It did make him feel better though. Everything about her made him feel better after all of the bull shit he often found himself thinking about. He always tried not to think about it with her around though because the last thing he wanted was to upset her about something that wasn't worth mentioning. Even if it was worth mentioning and he was just being stupid.

Rowan smirked, "You got lucky enough because you're absolutely bangable and insanely hot yourself, babe." And because he loved everything about her. They were so compatible, always had been from the first time they met. It was funny the way that they just hit it off even before he got her to sleep with him. The flirting had been so natural and he felt comfortable around her, never feeling like he couldn't just say what he thought and what he wanted.

To be honest, Rowan often wondered how it had been so easy. Relationships were supposed to be hard work, yet, theirs had always been relatively effortless. Rowan wasn't a fighter to begin with so talking things out had always just been his way of handling things anyway. When it was someone he loved, he preferred to never yell or say hurtful things towards them because he knew how much he'd regret it later.

As she tugged at him to join her on the couch, he pulled back her hands briefly and flipped himself over the couch so that he was now positioned with his head in her lap and his feet hanging off the couch. Snuggling up close to her, he closed his eyes briefly and smiled, "I don't think you realize just how comfortable you are, baby."

"Yes. Lift your shirt. I'm gonna do a headcount. Lift it." Sawyer teased, pulling at his shirt. Any excuse to see her boy's buff body. Had he shared his feelings with Sawyer then, the voice mimic would have responded equally, if not more.

It had taken awhile for her to properly warm up to him, beyond the sex but when they did, Sawyer had been a different person. Not necessarily a bad thing, just...open. Granted, there were times when that openness has caused a lot of stress on her, not having been that type of person before, it did help her at times as well. She wouldn't have been able to be so loving with people had it not been for Rowan.

"Well, I can't quite deny that." Sawyer waved one hand dismissively, flipping her hair over her shoulder, finding it so easy to just hide away the pain and complication of yesterday simply by being with Rowan.

Sawyer cradled Rowan's head when he laid on her lap and she smiled down at him. "Well, you've slept on me more than once for me to attest to that, honey." She grinned, leaning down to place a kiss on his forehead. "I love you." She whispered softly against his skin.

"Any excuse to get me naked," He laughed and swatted away at her hand playfully. Not that he blamed her. He found any excuse he could to get her at least half-naked. They were very comfortable with their sex life and expressing just that.

Rowan had always sort of wondered how things just worked out for them. The sex had been great at the start, which always earned a spot for someone in Rowan's book. He would always remember the better sex partners than he would the mediocre ones. And then they got past the sex and there was more to their relationship than just physical attraction. Something he'd only ever encountered once or twice. The first time with Lucy, second with Alex and then Sawyer is where it all stopped because that's where he'd wanted it to stop.

She was everything he'd ever looked for in someone to fall in love with. She was funny and smart with a tough skin, but that understood him and was there for him whenever he needed her. She made him feel like a somewhat decent person that deserved to be in love even if he had always felt like he would be just like his mother. He'd been taught that lust always outweighs love, but with her Sawyer, he'd chosen love and was sticking with that.

His smile widened at her words and he closed his eyes again as her lips pressed to his forehead. Her next three words making his chest inflate and his eyes to slowly open again. "I love you, always," He didn't speak much above a whisper either, not wanting to ruin things with his loud mouth. And as the words left his mouth, his mind drifted to the thoughts that had been trickling into his mind for quite some time.

Marriage.

Sawyer bit her lower lip from bursting another huge grin as she shrugged. "Maybe." She chuckled before capturing his hand in hers, pulling him against her to tickle his well-defined torso.

As she tried to rough house him, which usually resulted in her being pinned down, Sawyer couldn't help but realise her problems seemed to have faded away.

It was dangerous just how intoxicating Rowan was but at that very moment, that was exactly what she needed.

His reply, though predictable, left Sawyer with a soft smile. It never failed to amaze her just how much she loved hearing those words come out of his mouth.

"Okay, you need to eat. I am not letting you skip breakfast even if it is for an excellent cause like moi. Now eat." She shoved his shoulders playfully and reached out to grab the plate of food for Rowan.
