Located in the outskirts of the downtown district of Pilot Ridge, The Ark is an expansive store supplying a vast range of pets and pet care products. Whilst we do specialise in reptiles and amphibians, The Ark also has an extensive range of products and accessories for dogs, cats, rodents, fish, birds and many more! All of our animals are very well handled and socialised to ensure you are getting a healthy, happy and well adjusted pet.
Whether you are after buying your first goldfish, a new collar for your best friend or new additions to your herpetology collection, you will find highly experienced and friendly staff who will help you find exactly what you are looking for. If we do not carry exactly what you are looking for, please do not be afraid of asking as we can usually track it down for you.
The Ark promotes very high standards of animal care and welfare, both in the store and after the animals leave us. As such, live animals will not be sold to anyone believed to be intoxicated or showing a lack of understanding of the care of said animals. Animals will also not be sold to anyone under the age of sixteen without a parent or guardian present.
The Ark sells a wide range of pets but it does NOT sells cats, kittens, dogs or puppies. Instead there are numerous advertisements for local shelters dotted around the store. There is also a large bin near the store exit where people can drop off any donations of food, bedding or toys that they have purchased. Gunnar makes a delivery of the donated items once a week to various animal shelters in Pilot Ridge.
The store is large and fairly open, with wide aisles and all the different species and their care items in different sections. The animal enclosures are large and well decorated, with plenty of toys and hiding places so the animals within can feel comfortable. All the pens, cages and tanks are solid fronted so people cannot stick their fingers inside. The only way to access the animals is by going 'behind the scenes' through keycard locked doors to get to the other side of the cages.
Within the mammal section there are several large playpens where people can handle their potential new pet under supervision to help ensure they will be a good partnership.
