Greg hated laundry day.

He hated sorting clothes. He hated doing multiple loads. He hated waiting for the rinse cycle to finish. He hated how long it takes for the dryer to suck all the water out. He hated folding clothes. He hated putting them back to his closet.

He hated laundry day so bad that he pushed it off for three weeks. Pushed it off so bad that not only was the pile so huge it took him five trips down from his room, and that he basically had no clean clothes left. And yes, he already used sideA and sideB of all his boxers.

Lucky for him he’s off early for the day, earlier than most kids, that the entire laundry room was his to use. And considering how he used more than three quarters of the available machines, he could just imagine how much of a nightmare it would’ve been if he had to wait in line.

Another good thing about being alone in the laundry room was that he could play his music as loud as he wanted it to be. He brought his laptop down and played the summer playlist he and Harrison made last year and happily danced in nothing but a Batman bathrobe.

Cam had been doing his own laundry since he was little. Ever since his mom up and left him and his dad, a lot of the chores had fallen on his young shoulders. So needless to say, he was an expert.

Whenever he had to do laundry, he made it fun. Sometimes he stained things on purpose just to see if what the ads claimed were true. So far, Tide was the bomb. He also really liked the new scents from the Gain pods – and they were really fun to pop!

Humming away with his earbuds in, Cam made his way to the laundry room with his own basket full of clothes. Whites. He didn't have any classes this semester since he had taken everything he could last term, so, he figured no one would be in there. His hand on the doorknob, Cam paused as he noticed someone dancing in the laundry room. Cam laughed out loud and popped his earbuds out, wanting to say something, but the dude's music was way too loud for that.

Entering the room anyways, Cam set his basket down and waved frantically. “Hey!” Well, if sound wasn't on his side, lights were. The lights flickered rapidly at his command, and Cam stood there grinning. “Sweet music bro! You usin' all these machines?!”

To say that the music totally took over Greg’s current state of mind would be an understatement. Harrison’s Summer2013 playlist brought him back to the good old days. Back to those lazy, sunny days in Banff, lying aimlessly in his best friend’s backyard. Back when he and Richard were still together, stronger than ever. Back when being part of the best lacrosse team in Canada, heck even in North America, was still in his dreams. Back when he wasn’t knee-deep in all things meta-human. Back when his grandmother was still alive and her secret were still just hers to keep.

Normally he’d feel sad-nostalgic about these things, but between Avicii’s ‘Wake Me Up’, Tegan and Sara’s ‘Closer’, One Direction’s ‘Best Song Ever’ and Miley Cyrus’ ‘We Can’t Stop’, there’s simply no time to be sad. And the Canadian teen wasn’t at all complaining.

He was in the middle of twerking – or at least, the best imitation of twerking he could muster; Richard, his ex, repeatedly told him that Greg was the very epitome of #whiteboydancing – with his back to the door when the blonde walked in. And if it wasn’t for the flickering lights, he wouldn’t have noticed.

“Oh shit!” he said, caught off-guard and scared shitless by the blonde’s lightshow. In his agitated state he slipped, landing on the floor with a loud thud. “Uhh fuck. I’m alright though, no worries. Nothing broken. Yet. I think.” He tried his best to smile as he stood up, remembering to tighten his robe as he faced the not-so-welcome intruder.

“Oh the machines in the far end are free,” he replied with a grin, “Sorry. Didn’t expect someone to be doing laundry right about this time.” He noticed that the boy only had whites so he quickly added, “Don’t use #17 though. I used it once for my whites and they all turned out pink afterwards.” Never mind the fact that he accidentally put his bright red boxers in that batch. Which, in the end turned pink as well so he didn’t really figure out the difference. “Oh, and thanks,” he said meekly of his playlist, lowering the volume. Hopefully he at least brought his headphones.

Cam was enjoying the show – did everyone here think they could dance? He stepped forward quickly after abandoning his own laundry on top of one of the machines as the brunet landed his ass on the ground, offering a hand. But he claimed he wasn’t hurt and Cam backed off. “The school should put on a talent show or something,” he said with a teasing grin after the music had died down.

Nodding when he heard at least one of the machines was free, Cam went over to it and began shoving in all his whites. “Yeah, the only thing private around this school is your own room,” he said, concentrating on the clothes, “so don’t even think about going skinny dipping in the pool.” Though when he glanced back the other guy, Cam thought he really should go skinny dipping in the pool. There wouldn’t be any complaints from him!

Nodding again, Cam slammed the machine door shut after adding some detergent to the mix, and the load would take about half an hour. Awesome. Quirking an eyebrow over washer seventeen, he strolled over it and took a peek inside. “Looks fine,” he said, glancing again at the brunet and just how many machines he had going at once. He nodded at one of the dryers. “I call that dryer on the left once you’re done with it.”

“I’m Cam by the way, I don’t think I’ve seen you around before.” He was going to be here for another half an hour, and he would much rather talk to another human being than listen to music when given the option.

The telepath let out a loud laugh when the blonde suggested that his dance moves were good enough to merit entering the talent show with. “Yeah, no. Let’s keep this one between ourselves. Shared secrets are always awesome yeah?” said Greg with a hint of sarcasm and playfulness in his voice, not vastly different to how most adults talk to little kids below the age of ten whenever they did something rather embarrassing and they’d want the cute miniature adults to keep a lid on it. Blame it on his eight year-old sister.

He promptly jumped over one of the machines and sat down, legs crossed, as Cam went for the free ones by the corner, unconsciously following the blonde with his eyes. Nobody could’ve prepared him for what the light manipulator thought of next, and boy did it make the Canadian teen blush and squeak just slightly like a thirteen year-old girl finally being noticed by the History teacher she’s had a crush on since the start of class. “Damn it, guess I have to cancel my 8PM today then. And I just bought extra special speedos that can be taken off easily yesterday too!” He barely had enough energy to eke out a reply, much less a witty one, with all the blood in his system coming to his face and all. “Is it just me or did it suddenly get hot in here?” he said to no one in particular.

A sudden ding notified the brunette that one of the dry cycles was finally done. Greg promptly hauled his whites onto a basket, then threw them over the washing machines as he began folding. With the rate his loads were going, he’s going to take a while, so might as well get started on the hardest part of the whole laundry-day to-do list while he’s waiting? “What? I’m offended. You say I’m not noticeable enough? Shit,” he chucked, as he threw another sock in a pile of unpaired ones, “Greg. Normally I’d shake your hand but I’m way over here and I’m lazy.” He gave Cam a wink and a shrug. “Been here for four months now, maybe? I’m guessing you’re one of them old farts.”

“Deal,” Cam said, laughing a little bit. If you were going to dance in public, you may as well own it and be proud of it. Greg was just lucky Cam hadn’t brought his video camera with him – his dancing would’ve ended up on YouTube for sure.

Cam’s smile didn’t fade as Greg reacted, and all he could think was eh, there I go again saying things I should probably keep private. So he laughed like he meant to say such a thing out loud because really, he did say those kinds of things a lot. “8PM you say?” Cam asked, taking out his phone as though checking his schedule. “Yeah, breakaway speedos works for me,” he said, his blue eyes filled with mirth. “You’re the one with the robe on,” he said, pocketing his phone once more. If they were going to flirt that would be fine, at least the half hour would pass in a fun way.

Watching Greg take his whites out, Cam crossed his arms over his chest. Maybe if he acted naturally, Greg wouldn’t notice that he was being checked out. It was also clear to Cam that Greg didn’t know how to fold his laundry, like, at all. Cam laughed and ran a hand through his hair, “Come on, give me some slack, I do my best to know everyone.” Cam approached and leaned the bottom of his foot against one of the washers beside Greg. “What? I’m offended, I’m not old,” he teased, gesturing towards Greg’s pile of whites, “your folding skills could use some work.”

An idea popped into Cam’s mind. “Want any help?”

Greg couldn’t quite put a finger at Cam’s response at first. He’s been in the said situation quite the number of times, and why he didn’t really shy away from flirting (it’s fun and it’s good practice, he claimed), he did have a hard time distinguishing between actual flirting and just plain old friendly teasing.

He was just about to pry in further – just a small look, he wouldn’t want people looking into his mind every five seconds and he figured he should treat people the same, especially strangers – when he saw the blonde’s smile linger. That lingering smile rendered probing unnecessary; Cam was defs flirting.

“Know everyone? Damn. You running for office or something?” He let out a small chuckle and made sure that the blonde heard how he emphasized the word ‘know’ by giving him a not-so-quick wink while saying it. “Blame the stubble. If you hadn’t talked, I’d peg you for an Institute staff. Near the younger end of the spectrum, but a staff nonetheless.” His laugh got a little bit louder when he realized the implications of what he just said. Or at least what he thought were the implicit subtext anyway. Before Cam could say anything else though, he quickly added, “And yes. I thought you were hot until you opened your pie hole. I kid!”

He’d leave it up to Cam to determine which half was true and which wasn’t.

Greg’s smile turned into a pout when Cam called him out for his folding, but turned back into a smile when he offered to help. Flirting aside, he wouldn’t turn down that kind of an offer. “Be my guest,” he grinned, bouncing aside to give Cam space to fold, “Show me the proper way, oh great and ancient one.”

Poor Cam, he had no idea he was dealing with yet another telepath in his life. The first one had been his best friend and he was trying to repair that relationship. It didn’t help that he was in love with the redhead, and had always assumed Chester knew – but he didn’t. It also didn’t help that said redhead decided to kiss Cam while he was in a relationship with another dude. Good times…

Cam let out a loud laugh, and then nodded. “Didn’t you know that’s the best way to get to the top?” Cam asked, sending a wink Greg’s way. Honestly though, Cam had slept with a lot of people at the school, all students! He genuinely enjoyed getting to know people, some more intimately than others. Touching his chin, Cam laughed again and sighed. “Well, soon I won’t be here to be confused over, until then, enjoy the view.” He was hot and he knew it, it didn’t matter what Greg said.

Grabbing the first article of clothing on top of the pile, Cam folded the t-shirt with precision, leaving neat little folds in all the right places. “It’s pretty easy, but every shirt and whatever is different, you just gotta find the symmetry…” He sighed, glancing at Greg. “I really do sound like I’m a teacher.” Cam shook his head and laughed again.

Taking the next article of clothing, Cam gave Greg a speculative look. “Oh…” He said, a silly grin creeping across his face. “These are cute.”

Greg almost snorted with Cam’s response. That was just gold. Carefully chosen words to probe with just the right amount of teasing to make it organic. It was actually so subtle that he’s pretty sure he would’ve missed it had he not been thinking that the blonde was flirting with him. Or at least that’s what the Canadian thought of the ‘best way to get to the top’ comment.

The problem now was replying with enough snark, wit and subtlety to get his point across. Snark and wit he could do, but subtlety, he’s not so sure.

“Oh I’ve been on top several times, albeit through different means, and eh, it’s alright. Kind of bored with it though.” He tried to seem nonchalant about the whole thing, grabbing a shirt from the pile to fold and all, even though he’s rehearsed the line three times in his head already and was trying to make sure he got every word right. “Planning on feeling what it’s like to be on the bottom lately. Seems a whole lot easier.”

That made sense right? And it had enough to just tease Cam, but not appear thirsty or desperate? It was probably this little worry of him that made his folding a little too atrocious for words that gave Cam the perfect opportunity to come over. If it was, Greg’s not complaining though.

And boy was Cam good at folding. “Did you work in retail in your past life? ‘Cause you made it so easy.” Greg tried to follow the blonde’s ways to no avail. It just ended up crumpled and asymmetrical. “You’re just the kind of teacher I’d listen to though. You know, someone who looks like he’s so not qualified and he knows it so he feels bad about himself and it shows. So I’d listen just to give your ego a boost.” The telepath stuck his tongue out and gave the blonde a good shove, if only to tell him he’s just joking.

Then of course Cam saw his jockstraps. He put five of them with the first load so once he’s putting everything baskets, they’d be at the bottom of the pile and none of this would happen. Oh the universe just loved him. “I play lacrosse ok,” he laughed as he tried to swipe his underwear off Cam’s hands, biting his lip in mild embarrassment, “I’m not just one of those people. Sheesh.”

Cam just automatically assumed that everyone knew that he was flirting with him. If only more people could actually read his mind, then he would never get in trouble for his intentions. Mind you, not everyone was as good at flirting as he was. There was a certain finesse to it that he had definitely mastered. It was probably due to all those years of practicing, since he’s so old and all.

“Oh yeah?” Cam asked casually, a knowing grin on his face. Personally he didn’t think there was anything boring about it, but whatever, people needed a change of pace every now and then. “The view not doing it for ya?” He teased as they folded clothes side by side. Cam chuckled softly. “Not easy, it asks for vulnerability,” he said, catching Greg’s drift, “not everyone’s willing to give that up.” So long as they were actually talking about the same innuendo, they were golden.

Cam shrugged. “Nah, I’ve just had a lot of practice folding.” The blond tilted his head to the side – did he really not look qualified? Aw, that’s unfortunate. “Oh well, not like I’m aspiring to be a teacher teach or anything,” he said with a laugh. Cam ran his fingers through his already carefully messy hair after being shoved, a smirk on his face. His ego didn’t need a boost, it was already sky high.

Ducking out of Greg’s reach, Cam took a closer look at the underwear as he walked to the other side of the room. At least it was clean, so this would be fun. “I dunno man, these seem a bit big for a guy your size,” he teased, “sure ya don’t use ‘em to make your boy parts look bigger?” Honestly, Greg didn’t need to be a mind reader to know what Cam was actually thinking. The blond wore his heart, and his intentions, on his sleeve. So much for folding.

Greg wasn’t exactly sure how to proceed with the whole thing. Not ‘cause he didn’t know how to proceed or that Cam wasn’t attractive enough to make him proceed, but more along the lines of him really feeling unsure if he wanted to proceed. Don’t get him wrong, he had as much needs as most teenaged boys his age, but he’s also not quite into, well, casually getting it on with someone. Especially someone he just met. He did, after all, stayed with his ex for the two years of puberty. And while he had almost every possible online datingsocial media app on his phone, he could count with his two hands the number of times he’s actually met other boys his age and none of the interactions were as great, or even as good, as he thought it’d be.

But in the end, Cam’s smoldering grin won so the telepath decided to just jump right into it.

“Well if you’re the view I see at the bottom, I guess I wouldn’t mind being on top a few more times.” He tried to act as casual as he could when he gave Cam another wink, busying his hands with folding another white shirt the way the blonde showed him. Cam seemed like he had enough junk in his trunk, and didn’t seem like the type of guy to just lie there and make his partner do all the work – something Greg rather irritating. His nose crinkled a bit when Cam said that being at the bottom asks for vulnerability, as the brunette never really saw it that way. “Hmm. Maybe. I don’t know about that, but what I do know is that being free of the pressures of being on top is rather relaxing. I’ve tried it a few times and I wouldn’t mind trying it again.” Thankfully his lackluster experience didn’t put him off bottoming forever.

Greg’s eyes widened and he yelled for his underwear back, laughing at how ridiculous they must’ve looked to an onlooker. “Oh god don’t wave that around sheesh!” He was taller than Cam, and had quite the reach, but since Cam was faster and Greg wasn’t really in the mood to chase after the other boy, he let it be. At least for a few more minutes. “Please. Do you even know how jockstraps work?” he said with a playful grin, “They’re like sports bras – they need to hold your junk so securely so they smoosh it and your junk looks way smaller than it actually is. And ‘sides, I’m a grower.” He’d add that jockstraps, in bed, are more to make his ass look more plump, but he figured Cam already knew that.

He had to subtly pinch himself on the thigh just to make sure he wasn’t imagining things and things really were going where he’s thinking they’re going. Shit.

Cam, although confident, wasn’t a hundred percent sure on where this would lead either. Usually he did a lot of flirting and if things went well he went with them. But if they didn’t, he was never in a sour mood. Some people just thought joking was joking and if they weren’t willing to cross lines with him then he didn’t hold that against them. After all, he’d only just met Greg and they were in a fairly public place. Not that Cam was opposed to such an adventure.

Smirking, Cam wondered if Greg was imagining the same thing he was. The blond didn’t mind hooking up here and there, but he did prefer dating someone too if that’s what they were gonna end up doing, not that he thought anyone had to be exclusive with him – everything had their freedom to date who they wanted and Cam was hardly a jealous type. Cam was a very giving partner. Shrugging again, Cam wondered just how much he could say. “Depends who you’re underneath, being on the bottom can be better,” he snapped his fingers in Greg’s direction, “I like your attitude about the whole thing.” How had they started talking about this again? Cam wasn’t sure, but he was grinning like an idiot.

Cam wasn’t going to hold the jockstrap hostage forever. “Who’s gonna see?” He asked, vaguely wondering if there were security cameras in here – oh well. For all his lack of athleticism, Cam was a fast little guy. He stopped his escaping and stood as tall as he could, his free hand gesturing at his body like he was showing off a brand new car. “Do I look like I play sports?” Because he was super lanky. Stunts and sports didn’t give you the same body type. Not like Greg’s muscly arms. Laughing again, Cam used to jockstrap as a makeshift slingshot and shot it in Greg’s general direction.

The timer on his washing machine went off and Cam blinked – oh yeah, that’s why he was here in the first place. ‘Accidently’ pulling on Greg’s robe a bit on his way to the washing machine, Cam hauled his wet whites over to the dryer and decided what could and couldn’t go in there. Some things were just too delicate. “What you’re wearing now looks just fine,” Cam observed, his eyes on his clothes but his mind picturing Greg. “Super fine,” he added, filling his laundry basket with a few things that he wanted air dried.

Shutting the dryer, Cam leaned against it for a moment before going back to help Greg fold. “You’re gonna be here all day man,” he said, picking up another shirt as Greg’s next dryer went off.

Greg couldn’t help but blush just slightly when he got wind of Cam’s thoughts. It was something rather absurd, something he wasn’t really expecting, that he even giggled just slightly. He wasn’t exactly keen on hooking up with Cam on something rather public – or hooking up with him immediately after meeting him – but part of him actually got excited of the whole thing. It was rare opportunity, and wasn’t youth supposed to be about trying new things? “Sounds to me like you have someone – or a number of someones – in mind. Care to divulge some names? I’m rather curious.” A wink and a lip bite at the end should seal the deal, right?

Whatever the deal might be anyway.

He gave Cam a once over, and laughed. Loud. “Point. You look more like the cheerleaders during my lacrosse games.” Blonde, thin and hot. If he’s a straight male and Cam’s female at least. “Ever tried wearing a tight crop top and a mini-skirt with a slit on the side?” Immediately the image of Cam in said attire went to his head. Not bad, not bad really. And with a pair of pompoms, and a little shaving here and there, it was perfect.

His jockstrap landed squarely on his nose. Well at least it was clean. And either way, it was his stench anyway; he shouldn’t feel too disgusted by it. Being hit by the jockstrap on the face was enough to distract him and give Cam the opportunity to tug at his robe, which easily became undid under his touch. “Oh god,” he said with a laugh, one hand instinctively going over his crotch, “Tell me that wasn’t on purpose.” There was no breeze, but his robe did flap about a few times and exposed his naked behind.

Then an idea hit him.

Grabbing the infernal jockstrap with his other hand, he turned his back at Cam as he put it on, mindful to make sure it was properly worn so as to show his assets quite well. “See,” he said with a huge grin on his face as he walked towards Cam, “Doesn’t this look lovely?” One more wink here, then he went back to his dryer, taking a load out and putting a third – and thankfully the last – load of whites.

And yes, loading the dryers meant bending over just slightly to fill the machine. “I know right. Glad you’re here to keep me company the whole time, right?” It was merely a joke, but hey, he wouldn’t mind. Cam flirting and teasing him was infinitely better than anything he could ever think off pass time at the moment. And an extra pair of hands to fold clothes wasn’t exactly unwelcomed.

Cam wasn’t opposed to hooking up on something that was at just the right height for hooking up on. Various imaginative imagery crossed his mind as he thought this, and now it was going to be hard to look at the washing machine the same way. The light manip laughed and shook his head ‘no’. “Took hard work to get to the top! Like I’m giving you any shortcuts,” he said, a hand on his hip. “But I could give you one, I mean, if you’re interested in blonds.”

Hopefully they were on the same page. Otherwise, Cam might be getting beat up again, or kicked in the groin.

“Cheerleaders go to lacrosse games? Pfft, you wish.” Yes, that would be what Cam focused on, not realizing he was being given a once over. Trying to remember if he was cross dresser or not, Cam shook his head ‘no’ again. “That wouldn’t be very flattering for my lack of curves,” he stated, cupping his not-there boobs. “And a mini-skirt wouldn’t leave a damn thing to the imagination.” Mainly his man parts. He looked at Greg with a smirk on his face. “Now quit picturing it for your spank bank later.”

Cam had undone his fair share of clothing – skirts, dresses, bras, pants, all kinds of underwear. How could a robe compare to his nimble hands? “Probably was,” Cam stated unashamedly, his focus on his own laundry now. Feeling Greg approaching him, Cam looked up, a broad grin on his face as he looked over Greg’s practically naked body. Cam took a deep breath, not saying a word, lest he blurt out what he was really thinking, and that was to jump Greg right then and there.

Cam laughed, “The whole time?” His eyebrows were raised, arms across his chest. “What do I get for gracing you with my presence?” Cam set the nicely folded shirt into the empty basket, getting closer to Greg. “I accept all forms of payment,” Cam supplied, his body glowing slightly from the excitement of the moment.

Cam’s thoughts made Greg blush just slightly (and his jockstrap a little bit tighter). And he thought his imagination was crazy. He was this close to telling the blonde that he’s a telepath and he should stop giving Greg so many ideas ‘cause blue balls was something the telepath wasn’t too keen on experiencing right about now, but he opted not to last minute. He remembered how he revealed it to a guy he had a crush on a few weeks back, and it completely changed the way he talked to him. To say that the said guy had gone cold would be an understatement.

He’s having way too much fun at the moment to risk having Cam get upset that he’s dealing with a mind-reader at the moment.

“I’ve always been interested if the carpets match the drapes for blondes too,” he replied, folding the last of the pile for his first batch. There were three more baskets of whites and a whole lot more of coloured clothes though, so the boy was far from done. “And too late. Already have a picture of you. And I’m not sure it’s that pretty.” He made one of his trademark crude gestures – his left hand shaped like it was holding a rod and making three quick strokes then seemingly exploding like fireworks – before adding, “But I’m feeling a little itchy today so I still used it. Sorry not sorry?”

The Canadian didn’t need telepathy to know that Cam was looking. That deep breath said it all. (Mostly cause that’s the same thing he would’ve done had the roles been reversed). Suddenly feeling a little bit bolder, Greg decided to grab his second basket and walked towards Cam. He stopped a mere two paces away from the blonde and stared straight into the boy’s eyes with the cockiest smirk he could muster. “I’m a little low on cash at the moment, but I think we can work out a deal yeah?”

He kept his gaze – and his confident smirk – for a good second before bursting out laughing, possibly destroying the mood. “Fuck sorry god. For a second there I felt like I was in a porn movie or something.”
