From out by the pond, you could see the power go out in a flash of electricity. In an odd way, it was beautiful.

Within the few months she had been at Hammel, Alena had grown quite fond of the pond by the school. It was a beautiful place, and was the perfect place to just relax. That particular evening, the Russian had made her way down, camera in tow. It was simply too beautiful outside to stay indoors. Vermont was chilly, but in Moscow, the weather was surprisingly similar. Or, at least, the winters seemed to be.

On this night, however, it was surely a sign that summer was rapidly approaching. She sported simply jeans and a tank top, her camera hanging from a strap around her neck.

Alena worked her way around the pond, hoping to get a photo of the institute lights reflecting on the pond. The evening sky was perfect for such a shot, and the teen found herself rushing to try and get in place, completely oblivious to anyone or anything around her.
