SUE: Beautiful Music (Antosha and Gryphon)

Why were they even in the band room? With the lights out, and a lot of heavy equipment all around them, this could result in hundreds of dollars worth of damage if they break any instruments.

Gryph looked at all the shiny instruments in front of him, camera in hand, and couldn't even suppress his wide grin. He couldn't help it - they were shiny, and he liked shiny things. Magpie instinct. It wasn't exactly a side effect of his ability, to have a similar mindset to birds... but being so similar to them, being around the creatures a lot of the time and being able to understand what they were saying kind of contributed to him feeling very much like a bird stuck in a human body sometimes. But only sometimes - the majority of the time he was very happy as he was.

One of his friends from the band had asked a favour - take a few snaps of the instruments for an ad for the school band. He'd taken a few as they played, and now they'd all left so that he could take some closer pictures of the instruments and the practise room. It wasn't anything to scream about, but it was... cozy. Friendly, at least. He was just making his way past a bunch of music stands when the lights suddenly flicked off and he jumped, tripping slightly and knocking two of the stands into the (thankfully) empty space in front of him, tweeting out a swear word in some kind of pigeon dialect as he did. He put the cap on his lens and left the camera hanging around his neck, looking around curiously, but pointlessly. He couldn't see a thing yet, his eyes weren't used to the darkness.

"Hello?" He said, to anyone who could hear him. He frowned and furrowed his brow, trying to carefully feel his way through the darkness, in an attempt to not destroy any of the valuable instruments around him, "Crap," he mumbled, as he bumped into something metal. This could only end badly, and that was not what he needed.

Antosha didn't even know why he was heading to the band room right now. Usually he could be found in the art room and no where else, after all he was planning on being an art teacher so it didn't make sense he would stray from this plan. However the Russian now found himself walking down the surprisingly empty hallways without any sense of hesitation. A thick sketchbook was tucked under one of his arms and a charcoal pencil was tucked behind an ear. These, he thought, could be useful excuses if anyone attempted to stop him on his impromptu trek down to the musical area.

He was busy scanning over the vaguely familiar hallways with his amber eyes as he walked. The Russian could remember being here once before, back in his high school years when he had been courting a certain sight-impaired individual. Chuckling softly at his own memory he glanced to the ceiling as the lights began flickering frantically.

"A electro..?" he questioned to himself, not having time to finish that thought when the school was suddenly plunged into darkness.

Well, isn't that just inconvenient? Antosha scoffed slightly as he pulled on his powers to change just his eyes to that of his feline counterpart. It was always uncomfortable when he tried to shift just part for any length of time, since he instinctively wanted the rest of his body to follow suit. A noise startled the panther out of his concentration and he snapped his head to the side with the sound of popping bones.

"Yes?" he called out into the dark, blinking wildly before continuing his path to the band room. It only took him a few moments to expertly navigate the hallway so he paused at the open door in time to see a younger male clumsily moving through the room. "Ah... Wouldn't step forward. You knocked a flute in front of your foot." he pointed out, a small smile drifting over his face.

"You can't see?" he continued, his golden feline eyes blinking some as he rotated his neck. It helped warding off headaches to continually pop his neck, so it was something he'd do frequently when choosing to transform only his eyes.

Whoa, crap, a reply. He didn't expect that. Maybe he was hearing things though... that was a possibility, hearing things. Then again, it'd only gone dark, it wasn't like there were ghosts or anything. As if, ghosts didn't exist.

Pfft... hopefully. It was strange for the lights to have suddenly gone out - but this was a meta school, it wasn't like it hadn't happened before. But no, Gryphon could hardly see a think. He squinted his eyes, trying to urge them to adjust to the darkness, which they did, but slowly. Very slowly.

For a dancer, Gryph really could be a clumsy twit. The voice and its warning made him jump - "Shit-!" He whisper-exclaimed, snatching back - he ended up frozen with one foot on the floor, one foot against his other leg with the toe pointed (habit), and his arms out to his sides, kind of in a second position, but a bit wobbly. He turned his face towards where the voice came from, one he didn't recognize, "Not a thing." To him, it was almost pitch black, even if it was improving. He winced at the idea the sprouted in his mind, and tried lowering his arms and foot, only to knock his foot on something else and have to snatch it up again, even if this time, his arms remained down. He sighed, "Give a guy a hand?" He asked, even though he hated to. Even if it was just turning on some kind of light, then at least he could work his way out on his own. He just didn't like being in need of someone else's aid.
