As Lukas climbed down the stairs, headed for the place to practice archery he let the two of them fall into what he thought was a companionable silence. If only because he was too immersed in his own thoughts to be able to hold a proper conversation. His thoughts would have been quite easy for a telepath to read, as it centered around the small boy trailing behind him. Spurred by the gloves decorating Samuel's hands.
Would just not having secondhand things be enough? Maybe there were other precautions he should investigate. After all, a new power was completely unpredictable and it would be in Samuel's best interest that he did all he could to make sure the boy didn't have unwanted flares. The tracker eventually just vowed to talk to Emerson the next time he was in the school. The other man would definitely know how to avoid side effects for Samuel. Maybe even give him some idea what to expect.
Maybe he'd even finally be able to convince the man to try adopting.
If Samuel had voiced his fears of being scared of getting lost, Lukas probably reassured the boy that it was perfectly fine. After all, he'd been living in his home for many, many years and still managed to get lost. Granted it was a side effect of his power but still. It could help the boy feel better.
Lukas continued the silence as he opened the door and let Samuel go outside, quietly heading towards the shed on the edge of a rather large field with various targets, walls, fences, and in one place there was even a haphazardly built tree house. A tree house that was bound to give anyone who even looked at it tetanus, though. He glanced over at Samuel and smiled some, finally breaking the silence between them.
"Well, they all have tried... Spencer doesn't much care for it, nor does 'Lyss. But they know how. Its kind of a bonding activity for the family, like the southern states shoot guns." He explained, not even mildly worried about rambling around a boy who was going to become part of the family. Regardless of how briefly it may be. "Now I don't have any training bows new that you can use, but it should be relatively safe for you to handle one of the boy's old training bows. Just keep your gloves on." With a gentle nod he opened up the shed and peered inside at the collection of training bows and arrows. All the better ones - the more expensive ones, the ones made of metal or wood - were in the house rather than the shed.
