Time Warp: Hammel ten/eleven year reunion.

As one of the people in charge of making this spectacular three day, Reunion goes smoothly Madison had rushed around the hall they rented from the hotel with a clipboard in both hands and pen tucked behind her ear for the past few hours making sure everything and everyone were in place. She knew people would be trickling in at any moment now and it was her job to make sure everything from the bar and refreshment to the DJ (who was mostly going to play songs from around the time everyone was teenagers) was ready and perfect.  So far everything was okay so she ventured out to the nametag and sign-in were at so she could pin hers on to her shirt. Madison with the help of others made special nametag for each and every student that included their last yearbook photo on the left and, of course, their first and last name. People who were working the event had their name tag in blue and everyone else had a normal white one so you knew who to ask a question if there was any. She checked out everything one more time but as people started to walk in she decide to give it at rest. Sugar still being her drug of choice Madison decided to hang back by the refreshment table eating cookies for the time being. She was going to have to go on stage a couple time and socialize with her old classmates but for now she figure she deserved a cookie break for working non-stop the last three hours. Luckily for everyone else Maddie no longer got her massive sugar rushes and her body left all energy boosting to caffeine now because she was hosting the night and people wouldn't understand her if it did what is use to. 

This year's ten year reunion was going to probably be different than the next couple ones they are going to have. Because of bad weather last year the class on 2014 reunion had to be cancel so this year the class of 2015 decide to share their reunion with them. After all most people knew people in both years so it wouldn't be a problem. So I guess you could say it was both a ten and eleven year Reunion for some. To Maddie it was perfect because she had made friends in all grades back then and she wished the next couple ones could be like this too. She was so excited to see all of her old friends and  was hoping everyone would enjoy theirself because her and everyone else who help had put a lot into this reunion. She had dug up old photo of everyone from the yearbook, stuff online (the power of the interweb), and, of course, the millions of picture she had taken and posted them all on the wall as decoration and part of a scavenger hunt game. Yeah, having a scavenger hunt might be a little juvenile, but she hoped it might be fun anyway. Her favorite contest tonight was going to be a dance contest and the trivia game she had set up. She wished she could play the games herself because she had gotten some really good prizes. Though it would be cheating seeing how she made up the questions. She also hoped everyone enjoyed the food that they were going to put out tonight. She got Munroe, a local restaurants, to make all the food tonight. Oh and, of course, for those who were drinkers the hotel bar was open and reserved for the reunion. So all and all she thought it was going to be a successful night and hopefully everyone else did too.

Raylaigh had gotten the invite from Maddie and it had been a done deal since then. This date had been on his calendar every since. Ray had taken his wings and he had traveled. He had traveled as much as he could and the flyer was extremely excited about sharing all he’d seen with his best friend. He’d started taking pictures and frequently sent them to Maddie. There were few things that made sense in how Ray got where he was. He’d by chance stumbled into a graphic design class and then he got into the group of a professor in film and he found that he could use his art skills to design and put his art into motion in the movies. He traveled to sites with the crew to assist with the creation of the movie worlds in live action and he worked tirelessly in the office on animating his creations. To make matters better one of the writers had caught sight of some of Ray’s original work and they were working on something with Ray’s own unique style and he was ecstatic.

It was hard for Raylaigh to keep his feet on the ground as he walked back through Pilot Ridge. So many memories, some good, some bad but all made him smile now. It was crazy to think that he had even lived this long, much less that he would find himself able to do something he loved. His wings fluttered a little and he settled them carefully against his legs.  They were being heavily used, if he could fly somewhere instead of walk or drive he did so.  He lived close enough to work that he got to do so everyday.  He was excited to see Maddie, it had been so long since they’d actually gotten to see each other. It was so strange to see the same places he knew so well, so many years later. For some reason after seeing the world Pilot Ridge felt smaller. He followed the directions and wondered who else from his class would show up. He was excited to see old friends and honestly people he’d never really spoken to. They were all the graduates of a meta school and they were all doing something different, he wanted to hear all of the stories.

His brown hair was more in control now, but he'd started to find he didn't mind too much about mess, he'd also started to let it grow out a little bit.  He’d gotten taller and finally bulked up a little bit, but he was still extremely light as far as weight and in a bad storm was in great danger of being blown away.  He opened the door and followed the signs to the conference room. The flyer was grinning from ear to ear as he opened the door. He was dressed in jeans and a nice button up, almost nice but relaxed. Dark brown eyes searched the area and as soon as he saw her he exclaimed: “MADDIE!!!” And started running. He collided with her a few moments later and hugged her tightly. Squeezing her until she was probably blue in the face Raylaigh didn’t want to let go. He finally loosened his grip so he could see her. “How are you, lovely? I’ve missed you so much!!”

Madison herself had been very successful in her career so far. After graduating from Vermont University she decided to move to Newyork and chase after a career of dance and photography. That when she got lucky and landed an intern job for a new hot magazine who main focus was redefining beauty and how teenagers think of theirself. Long story short she was in the right place at the right time and ended up making a name for herself in the photograph business. Mostly only working for that company but she was doing stuff on the side too. Also with her new connection Maddie got a chance to live out her dreams of being a dancer to when she got invited to dance in a lot of popular videos. After awhile though she just decided to focus on taking pictures. The only reason she moved back to Pilot Ridge a year ago when he grandfather dad and she realised just how far she was from her parents and grandma  and how much she missed her family. So she moved back to be closer to her family and started to both teach art classes at her mom art studio and do small local photoshoot and senior pictures on the side. She was thinking about doing a dance too

Maddie looked up when she heard someone call her name and automatically a smile grew on her face. "Oh my god Ray." Next thing she knew she was getting a big hug from her best friend Ray. It had been awhile since they had seen each other and she had missed him so much. She was so glad he could show up to the reunion. Like she always did when she was excited she started talking really fast blurring threw subjects. "I'm fantabulous as usually. What about you? I missed you so much its crazy. Oh my god, we have a lot to catch up on. I'm not letting you out of my sites all weekend".

Maddie and Ray had definitely started out in similar, yet different, paths, it was surprising how far they had both gotten. Ray could not take pictures like Maddie could, he could use the same camera and take a picture of the same thing and his would look mediocre compared to hers. She had come back to Pilot Ridge and Ray was very sad he hadn’t been able to convince her that moving to California was a good idea. He was so excited to see her and once he spotted her he couldn’t hold it in. His wings hummed as he bounded forward and he didn’t want to let her go even though it would probably be safer for her health if he did. He’d missed her too much, in high school they’d been super close and even into college they’d been close, closer even. “Oh my god, Maddie!” He said excitedly.

“I’m amazing,” he said half jokingly. He was doing very well and he was always more than a little arrogant. “I miss you too, move to the west coast! We’d hang out all the time.” He had been trying to get her to move out there for what felt like forever but she had moved back to be close to her family, she wouldn’t move all the way to the west coast. He finally released her and put his arm around her shoulder and intended not to let her out of his sight all weekend. Raylaigh laughed when she voiced his thoughts and nodded his head. “Girl, you couldn’t chase me away. Are you busy? I need to know everything that’s been going on in your life!” He gave her another hug, “You know what we need to do. We need to have an all night movie night or something.” They hadn’t don’t something like that in a long time since they’d done something like that. They were also a lot older than they were in college when they could make it all day, Ray wasn’t sure he could do it anymore but he was with Maddie and he was going to try.

"You know if I could I would. I just can't be that far from my parents and grandad. But hey maybe their hope. My parents still have some travel in them I think it's my granddad we have to convince". Madison would love to move out to cailfornia and be with Raylaigh. Ray being there was enough reason to go but Cail had always been one of her favorite places to she had been. It was in her top ten at the least. Excited Madison jumped up and down clapping. "Oo, yes I agree with movie night and no I'm not busy. We must talk about everything. Like is there a new man in my little Ray life or how work going"?

Ray nodded but made a pouting face at her anyways. He knew chances of her coming out were pretty rare. "Well, you know you have a place to stay if you ever have a week off or something," he said not so subtly. Maddie knew she had a place to stay at his place if she ever wanted. "Oh, we only gotta get your granddad? Well, give me five minutes and we'll have you all packed in the car and ready to go." He grinned brightly, no less arrogant than he was in high school. "Besides I can only take so many pictures." He laughed and put his arm around her shoulder as she bounced with excitement. "Oh girl, I have missed you so much!" He squeezed her to express his need to have Maddie in his life all the time. He nodded his head with a bright smile, he was more than willing to bring along some booze and popcorn.

"Oh!" He started giving Maddie a look of excitement, "So there is and there isn't. It's complicated 'cause he's actually the ex of my ex but oh man Maddie he is gorgeous and we definitely have been hanging out a lot." He grinned like a minx. "Work is great, I love it. But enough about me! I wanna know about you! How is it looking on the relationship front? And life?" He put his chin in his hand and gave a sly look. "Just tell me about your life from the last time we talked in excruciating detail, I need to know." He laughed, well he was half serious he missed Maddie so much he hated not knowing what was going on in her life.

"Maybe I'll take some time off my class and go down there for a couple weeks," she said trying to meet him in the middle. Two weeks in Cail with Ray sounded good to her now she thought about it. She should have been thought of doing this. "I hope it's that easy." Madison smile brighten happy to hear him say so. "I'm glad because I have missed you to".

Madison raised on eyebrow at him. "Oo the ex of your ex you say? Do I need to pull Jerry Springer out of retirement"? she joked. "I'm just playing. You are going to have to tell me about this gorgeous guy and definitely show me a picture". Maddison shrugged. It had been the same old same old pretty much with her. "Well life is good I guess. The kids I teach my art class to are freaking awesome and they make me want to have some of my own. I started doing some shoots for spectrum, You know the shop downtown. As in relationship ... well I meet this really cute guy down at the bookstore but I don't know where that going. We have only seen each other like four times since but we text a lot. He really cute to".

“Yay!” Ray declared hugging her again. Maddie, by now surely spoke fluent Raylaigh and knew very well that was pretty much a verification that she going to visit. “Oh, it’s that easy, have you known people to be able to say ‘no’ to this face?” He batted his eyes at her and pointed at his cheeks giving a wide grin. He looped his arm with hers and went to a table where he was super gentlemanly and pulled out a chair for her. “My Lady,” he said giving her a half bow. Yes, Raylaigh was completely incapable of taking things seriously.

Ray laughed and nodded dramatically, “It’s weird, it all kinda started because of our mutual dislike of the same guy.” He shrugged and nodded his head. He was definitely gonna do that, but not here, he wasn’t a fan of gushing over someone in public, even if no one here knew who he was talking about. “Oh!” Ray was suddenly interested. Maddie wanting kids of her own, he’d always thought that Maddie would be a great mother. “Oh,” he repeated but in a completely different intonation, “We are going to have to exchange pictures,” he said with a giggle. Maddie had always been Ray’s first go to with relationships, she was his best friend and like a sister to him. Honestly, her opinion mattered, granted appearances weren’t important, but he told her everything and he hoped she could do the same with him.
