This thread is for writing about shipping characters on the site, with comments as to why you like or dislike a certain pairing. Civility is required. We are not all going to agree.

Here are mine:

Sail! (Or, the pairings I like)

James/Chase: You knew I was going to say this one. Of course I am. They aren't in the healthiest of relationships, not with James relying so heavily on Chase for his happiness, and their mutual--and justified--trust issues. But that's part of why I'm invested in them; I want them to work, and get better, so they can be better for each other.

Ann/Zac: Not an OTP, or even something I'd want to see lasting, but I think they could, in small doses, be good for each other. Zac needs someone to ground him when he gets too full of hot air, and Ann needs someone to insist on giving her attention. Fizzle out, flare out, or explode, I think whatever fallout would be outweighed by the good they can do for each other.

Sink! (Or, the pairings I don't like as much)

Joshua/Sean: As a romantic pair. I love their current dynamic too much. Simple as that.

Darryl/Midori: They are pretty. But they don't love each other.

Eli/Midori: If they ever tried to force their friendship into something different, it would only lead to them both being unhappy, because they can never be who the other person wants.

Sorta? (Or, the pairings I'm not sure about)

Moe/Vincent: I have grown to love Vincent's man-whore ways. They're cute together, but a Vincent free to screw around is more entertaining, for me.

Anya/Morgan: Have they ever spoken to each other in-game? I don't ship this simply because I've never seen their interaction played out.

Midori/Anyone other than Darryl or Eli: In theory, totally, though the same issue with Anya/Morgan up there does come into play. I want her to be happy, and so does Eli.

Charlie/Ingrid
What with Richard always working and Bobby being, well, not all there anymore, these two ladies need some companionship. And who better to understand a meddlesome old woman than another meddlesome old woman?

Annie/Moe
They will have sparkly cupcake fairy princess babies. That's the only justification I need for this.

Sidra/Avery
Avery managed to tolerate Si's snark and win appreciation, which is almost the same thing as affection, right? And now she's gonna model corsets for Si. How sexy is that?

Willow/Emiko
Just because they're the two most terrifying women ever.

Gabe/Jake
They're unfaithful, suspicious and generally made of unhealthy. This fills me with a horrible sort of glee. Oddly, they do seem to care for one another in a sick, twisted way and I am rooting for them to work things out despite the fact that Gabe is a sociopath.

Fifi/Anastasia
Anastasia's addiction to Fifi's touch coupled with her ability to emotionally manipulate? Like Gabe and Jake there is nothing healthy about this 'ship, which means I love it.

Alex and Ann. I think I put enough of a reason when I nominated them for ROTM last month. But just so we can see how clear I love it, it's because Alex is the only guy Ann is COMFORTABLE with. That is all.

Ivan and Anastasia [or Eva, only to Ivan]. Scariest. Couple. Ever. They play off their insanity well with each other. And they don't have to talk. I mean come on...relationships work well when you don't talk amirite? >_> Anyways, their dynamic is amazing. You'd be caught unaware by how scary they can be and THAT in and of itself is terrifying.

Make

Morgan and Jake. You knew this would happen with me. I ship them so damn hard. They make me melt. They've already said I love you and.. *squeal* they so...so pretty. I don't care if they break up. They will always be my OTP.

Jonia

Jonah and Mia. I'm a sucker for best friends turn something more...or something. Because Mia is in lesbians with Jonah. We see that. And you only direct attention to how good you look in a suit when you're trying to impress the girl you like so...Jonah and Mia...Has. To. Happen.


Chamie

Chase and Jamie. Of course I ship them. You kidding me? They're neurotic and paving hell with good intentions. That's enough for me.

Levan

Levi and Evan. Oh. Tee. Pee. Forevar. Cute, cuddly, puppy and Bambi. I'll stop now before I fill up too much space here.


CRACKSHIPS

Gabe/Jake/Morgan

You saw it coming. And no I don't actually care that Gabe is dead and Jake and Morgan are breaking up. In a world where Nu's logic is rule of thumb, Gabe is alive and Morgan and Jake prance around nekkid being happy.

Ginny/Mia

I'm still not hundred percent certain they should be in crackships instead of shipping. Because come on...*gestures to both Mia and Ginny* Come on....

Josh/Cobalt/Riley

Just because Josh can't actually articulate his needs and Riley is chronically shy and Cobalt is fiercely judging, doesn't make me stop crackshipping this three into oblivion. OT3!!

I'm all for instalove. I'm guilty of doing some of them myself but meeting the parents after four days? Suspension of belief is one thing I can't quite have when it comes to this. But the writers seem to have fun threading so good job on that!

Cali/Steven: ODDLY, I am going to disagree with Nu (gasp! XD). I was surprised about how soon the meet-parents thing was, but I do ship them rather a lot.

Estelle/Robbie: AS BROS. Or...well, you know what I mean. Siblings!

Cobalt/Josh: AGAIN, BROS. Because I am eternally grateful my character has friends, and he loves Josh like a brother. So hooray!

Sink!

Josh/Sean: I think they're cuter as friends, really.

Eli/Mii: Again, same reason. Their almost-sibling dynamic is amazing and I would hate for that to change.

Mii/Darryl: Oh Darryl. I just don't think they'd be happy.

Gabe/Jake: Even when Gabe WAS alive, I didn't ship them. Mostly because it was too tragic, unhealthy and codependent and I'm a wuss like that.

Paulo/Anybody: mostly because Paulo freaks the hell out of me. >.<;

Darryl/Emiko: I mean, I think they'd be cute, but I wouldn't have thought of them initially. CLEARLY I must thread-stalk them to find out more!

Leila and Savvy: I sometimes want this to be a real ship. But only sometimes. Mostly because it'd be hilarious.

Ivan/Eva: had to. Take away the extreme violence, they’re pretty much the healthiest couple on Hammel. They don’t ever lie to each other or keep secrets, and if one has a problem they talk (well not really talk) it out. It’s just that... they’re both ok with watching the world burn. That’s the fun part.

James/Ginny: the father daughter thing is so cute, even when Ginny is being the over protective one and wants to look after her dad.

future!Stella/future!Zac: Right now, Zac is a huge tool. In the future, he is less of one, and Stella has a spine, and so him and Stella work very well together. But he fucks that up too. Still, I like it a whole lot.

James/Chase: because they’re wonderful but have their problems. Like CHASE KEEPING SECRETS! It just makes them all the more entertaining. Also, I still giggle a little at Chase calling him Jamie.

L.C/Zac: because she can scare him into being less of an arrogant jerk face! And because they have a great dynamic.

Riley/Stephen: I love Riley. He may be the sweetest man-bear to ever live. Cole better come back or I will be sad.

Clarisse/Dalton: old school romance. It’s so sweet it gives me a tooth ache but I still love reading it. I also love throwing spanners in the works but I DO think they are very very sweet, and other worldly.

Crack!

Ann/Alex/Zac: I like the three of them. Alex and Zac can kiss and make up, then they can all work out tehir problems the best way.

Sean/Cobolt: Fedora suggested this then I saw it happen. It should happen.

Crash

Bond/Emiko: I dunno, i just... don’t see it yet. Also, Darryl’s gonna be a baby daddy. And Emiko is scary as.

Steven/Cali: I’m with Nu. Love at first sight? They've been in 'love' first date but they're just moving at a hundred miles an hour and I don't see how they can keep it up.

Eli/Midori: as anything other then friends. I seriously have doubts about that man having junk.

They're both sweet, gentle, innocent people who love plants. I point to the kinsey scale as a reason this could actually be canon and not crack.

Ben/Cobalt
Cobalt thinks being single is a fine way to be and that feelings are gross and stuff (don't worry, Cobalt, Josh backs you up on both counts) but Ben is starting to make him change his mind. Or, well, starting to confuse him because he doesn't want to acknowledge that he has feelings. Ew, romance, right? Yeah, sorry, Cobalt, Cupid is hard to beat.

Cali/Steven
I don't care that they are moving fast. They are cute and besides, their players are obviously having a ball, and that counts for a lot.

Clarisse/Dalton
Dalton may be a little cheesy. Just a little. But they have so much chemistry it is just astounding. I don't think there is another Hammel couple as perfect for one another (except perhaps Ivan and Eva, but other people have expounded upon them better than I can.)

Not So Much

Morgan/Jake
Morgan is sweet and adorable. Jake is a terrorist and is(was) cheating on his now dead boyfriend with poor, unsuspecting Morgy, thus making both of them targets of Jake's criminal friends. That is not romantic, that is tragic.

Levi/Evan
I don't like them. I don't dislike them, either. So far they have left me with an overwhelming feeling of "take it or leave it." I hear tell, however, that they have history and it is cute so I expect to change my mind as they interact more.

Cobalt/Sean
Mostly because Josh would never speak to either of them again and as I happen to enjoy writing with both of them that would make me sad.

Hotness explosion! This ship was actually inspired by the Tonesy ficlet I’ve read a while back, Hush I think was the title. Other than that, I feel that Gabe, should he still be living, might’ve taken a liking to the said family and torture them to hell by breaking these two together, trying to test the endurance of their love. First of all, can I say how excited I am about Cobalt and Ben finally getting together? So excited. It is ABOUT TIME boys.

Also finally getting together are Levi and Evan after several months of courtship, and as predicted I have been swayed to their ship. Evan is such a dork, and...Levi is too, but he's a more confident dork. Also, they are the only Hammel ship I have had a dream about.

Another couple getting together after almost a year (not of courtship, but of OOC planning) are Morgan and Anya. So far they are nice and pleasant and good for one another.

Okay, so neither of these ships are canon (yet? maybe? I hope?) but I ship them anyway!

Charlie and Elaine
They're both mellow, responsible and very nice adults. And his attempts at flirting with her are so dorky yet charming.

Henry and Estelle
She's very good-natured and sweet, he's kind of serious, and together they are awkwardly flirting without even realizing it. I hope they have more threads because they are so cute.

It is only fitting that the three sweetest men in PR end up in a poly unit. Together they shall go around being kind and baking cakes and dispensing hugs. Also, it just amuses me that Riley and Sean apparently share the same taste in (short and dorky) men
