PS: I love you [Karalie]

It had been some time, some turbulent days before Luke had finally figured out what was going on with him. He'd blown up stuff on accident, made lights glow, even watches went wonky around him. Not to mention how he suddenly started liking bananas and exactly knowing where to find them. But as time had passed he had gotten partly used to it and stopped freaking out about it, he'd taken that time to really figure out what was going on.

He'd taken days to figure out what it was, he had gotten as far as to conclude it was an entirely different power on his part, but to know what it actually entailed was to hit the books. Or internet. He needed to stop relying on other people to tell him and figure it out on his own. He had taken simple notes about what was exactly affected in the last few weeks and was going to try and find the connection between them.

Alarm clock. Broken and somehow lit up.
Stero system. Unplugged and somehow lit up.
Watches. The dials went stagnant or began moving twice as fast.
Bananas. I need them.
Cats. My god the cats.

He had his notebook under his arm and entered the library, mumbling and theorizing under his breath the entire time, he'd not even acknowledged the people standing in the hallway giving him odd stares like usual. He didn't even laugh at them or joke about their stupid light emitting watches.

He set one foot in the direction of the same chair he'd sat in before with Karalie and suddenly widened his eyes. Light emitting watches? Glow in the dark type lights? Like the lights on his stereo and his alarm clock? His mind jumped between conclusions as he quickly sat down in the chair and slammed open his notebook. He immediately got up and went to go look for books on scientific mumbo-jumbo, he kind of felt like knowing what made stuff glow in the dark, or light up.

Radioactivity? He finally decided upon as it was pretty much the only thing he could find that stereo systems had in common with bananas. Could he..? Was that why he could feel his phone? He plucked his phone out of his pocket and, despite the sign saying no phones were allowed, turned it on. He held his hand above the screen and saw the light from the screen fade a bit. Odd. But at least he was one step closer now.

''I wonder..'' He whispered. ''Could I..?''

Karalie was having a tough time making plans with Luke.  It was almost like he was avoiding her these past few days, claiming to be busy and doing who knew what.  Figures, when she really wanted to see him, he couldn't be found.  But today she was on a mission.  She had no idea how long this weird little break in her power would last, and she wanted to touch that boy as much as possible while she could.  It might be her only chance to ever touch him without seeing one of his exes, or his uncle, or parents or bullies or... there were so many people in that boys life that Karalie was tired of seeing when she happened to slip her digits against his skin.  She was going to get that boy along if it was the last thing she did.  Not necessarily to go all the way with him, no, but she'd come a heck of a lot closer than she ever had before.

She could feel the vibrations in her arm as she climbed the stairs towards his dorm.  Her skin had been doing that since she tripped earlier and fell into a door, using her palms to catch herself.  Now everything seemed to be vibrating, she could feel it when people spoke, but honestly she would take the odd sensation over her retrocognition any day.  Naturally Luke wasn't in his dorm, but one of his roommates said they thought he'd mentioned hitting the library, a thought that made her snort.  Then again, if he was avoiding her, the library would be the best place to hide.  Not because she didn't frequent the building, but because who would think to look for him there?

Karalie still wasn't sure how she planned on telling Luke what was going on with her, or how to get him alone.  Surely it wouldn't be that difficult, especially if she grabbed him.  When she got to the library she set out looking for him, thinking it was stupid the whole time.  Maybe she should text him, see if he answered..  No, he wasn't really replying to texts all that quickly.  Knowing him, he would leave the damn sound on though, and she could easily find him from there.  She fished her phone out, intent on doing just that when she passed him in an aisle.  She did a double take, not believing it was actually Lucas, who was looking right at his phone ironically enough.  Karalie sauntered thought the aisle, acting inconspicuous before getting to him.  "Hey!" She hissed in a soft voice, loud enough to grab his attention without grabbing the librarians.  "We need tuh talk."  There was a playful look on her face as she grabbed his arm.  "I got big news, baby.."

So.. He retracted his hand and the light that was being emit by his phone shone normally again, and according to stuff he'd oddly done more research on than on any of his school things he knew that they had one thing in common: they were radioactive. Even the things he had noted earlier, banans, kitty litter, they all shared some form of radioactivity. Be it potassium-40 or krypton-85 or even radon-226 in the case of carrots or potatoes!

This potentially narrowed it down for him to something that possibly had something to do with radioactivity, it seemed like he could detect and or temper with anything that was slightly radioactive. ''Wait,'' He thought. ''The human body is slightly radioactive..'' He figured this due to the slight amount of radiation found in most foods, and people were known to eat food. So while at initial thought being able to do something with radiation seemed pretty useless, it actually ended up being able to influence every person ever. He just didn't know in what form or at what strength. He doubted very much he could make people glow.

The hey beside him caught him by surprise as he instantly closed down his phone and did his best to shut down or hide his power, he wasn't ready to really tell anyone what was what yet. Not even Karalie, who was standing right there, next to him. She told Luke they needed to talk.

''We need tuh talk.''

It was in that hot accent that he loved, but that did not change the fact he didn't like those words. No matter how she said it, how she shifted her voice, he just knew nothing good came from people having to talk. He began to wonder how she'd grown tired of him so soon.

It was in that thought that she grabbed Luke's arm. Full hand-on-arm contact. And in a single moment the boy went from sad to surprised and finally happy. She touched him without hesitation! This meant.. did this mean.. somehow Luke wasn't the only one with power issues? He wanted, and tried to make jokes, but he had thoughts shooting through his head he wasn't even sure were there to begin with.

He turned to his girlfriend and nodded at her with a smile, knowing he could grab her hand without repercussion. And so he did. He wrapped his hand around that of his girlfriend and widened his smile.

''Let's find a more.. private place, okay?''
Gods. There was no way of saying that without coming across as dirty.

Though he seemed a little concerned at first, Luke's eyes lit up as her hand touched his. It was if he knew somehow that things were suddenly okay for them, that it wasn't a fluke or something. Maybe he'd known? No, that wouldn't make sense. If he'd known he would have requested private time with her sooner. Luke's hand slipped into hers and her instinct was to pull away, seven years of habit were hard to undue, but in the end she didn't. Still, her body went rigid for a second in anticipation for a memory that simply didn't come.

Suddenly Luke was dragging her to somewhere "more private" and she was sort of glad for it. She'd been bursting at the seams wanting to tell him what was going on, and she was suddenly glad that she had actually found him. Concerned that she had to do that, but glad she'd been able to.

Luke brought her to one of the private study rooms, the only one still available, and shut the door. She'd had some private study group meetings in those rooms before and liked that they existed, especially now that they wanted some privacy to talk, even if there was a window.

Once alone, with the door shut and the blind pulled down over the window, Karalie turned on Luke. "I have been tryin' tuh get together with ya'll for, like, two days! What gives?!" She insisted, pulling her hand back and folding her arms over her chest. She had to be stern with him sometimes, even if she wanted to tell him all about her. First she needed to make sure everything was good with them! Because if he'd done something stupid, she wanted to know. Now. And naturally she couldn't try and pull the memory from him since, well, she couldn't anymore..

"You didn' do somethin' stupid, now didja?!"

The minute they had entered the private room Karalie pulled her hand back and folded her arms over her drool-worthy chest. She scolded him for what could be described as avoiding her, but Luke had a valid explanation for his behaviour. If only he could muster up the words instead of just assuming he fucked up and he was finally going to get his ass handed to him.

''Crap. Crapcrap.'' He thought as his mind raced through what he could have done wrong, but deep down knew he didn't do anything wrong. ''Why? Why me? Why now? Why in private?'' ''Did I.. do something wrong? No, I..'' He started as his mind raced through words and piles of what-ifs. ''I.. no.. I don't think...'' He stumbled, not really sure what Karalie could have been meaning, he wasn't psychic!

But when the question came about him doing something stupid all the thoughts in his head snapped silent and thinking became an option again. She didn't know and was just asking! This was probably prettyy obvious if asked at another time but right now was a bit hectic for Luke. He lost his own power, gained a new one which he had to figure out pretty much on the fly, and on top of that Karalie could suddenly touch him? He didn't mind, but he was just having a bit of trouble connecting the dots.

''Right.'' He finally replied with a cough. ''I didn't do something stupid, not on purpose anyway. Like.. my power is gone, but I somehow think that doesn't just apply to me.''

Luke was stammering and stumbling over his own words. She could see the thought process on his face as he tried to figure out a way to get out of whatever trouble he'd gotten himself into, and Karalie suddenly felt scared. Would he have done something terrible? She could finally touch him, would he have gone and found someone who could touch him before she could? Would he do that? Have a piece on the side, someone who would snuggle and kiss and stroke his leg as they sat on the couch in each others arms watching some stupid romantic comedy?!

She wanted to cry as the worst case scenarios ran through her mind lightning fast, odd memories of being hurt by past boyfriends and husbands and cheating fiances kept sweeping over her mind, and it took a lot of effort to remind herself that Lucas was her first boyfriend and she'd never been engaged or married. Those memories weren't hers.

When he mentioned it was just his power a breath of fresh air washed across her. That was it? Wait.. that was it. He couldn't do what he used to.. he couldn't do all the things from memory anymore. Would he kiss the same? Would he do anything the same anymore? Karalie had no idea what that meant exactly, but she hoped whatever it was, it was okay.

"Well, uh.. that's alright, 'cause.. well, mine's gone too." Her smile was hopeful, and then she couldn't keep it in anymore. Her smile grew wider, suddenly not really caring about his stupid power. Hers was gone! Yeah, she had some sort of weird vibrating thing going on, but whatever, she could TOUCH stuff! She could touch him!  "Yah know what that means?" Karalie's voice grew an octave, her giddiness shining through more with each passing second. Her hands clasped his and pulled him closer.  "I can touch you all I want." She practically purred, leaning her body into his and looking up into his eyes.  She stood on her toes and pecked his lips.  "Ya'll know how much I've wanted tuh see yah the last few days?" Her hands stroked up his arms, over his shoulders and up to cradle his cheeks.  They were scruffy and weird, and though she'd felt that scruff with her face, it was so different across her ultra sensitive fingers, which didn't usually get to touch many things. She ran her fingers across his cheeks and then up through his hair, combing through it, her eyes following the way the strands slipped back into place.  It was so soft..  Her mouth came back to his and she kissed him again, this time harder, her lips curving into a grin after a few seconds.  "We can finally be normal."

Her power was gone. The one keeping her from touching him was gone. Like that. Just like that.

Suddenly he failed to think or care about his power, and forgot all about wanting to know more about his new one as he felt her hands on his suddenly. He had felt it before, but this time was different. No hesitance, no fear from either side there could be an interfering memory, nothing. Just hand on hand action, like boyfriend and girlfriend.

Luke hadn't felt like this since.. He suddenly looked down in confusion and saw that his arms were slightly shaking, his legs were twitching and left him to wonder why. He hadn't felt like this for a long time, for the first time in..

''4 years. 4 years since I have been able to shake out my nerves. 4 years have I waited for someone to take me back, to one of the more fun aspects..'' Of course he had to thank his sudden change of power for this, but it was still pretty new. And he was glad he could share it with the person most dear to him. And himself.

Karalie had stood up on her toes and gave him a kiss as she ran her hands over nearly his entire body. She had lots of catching up to do, it seemed, and Luke didn't quite care because it just felt good to have his girlfriends hands exploring him. He enjoyed it as she kissed him again, more passion involved as she mentioned they could finally be normal when she disengaged the face-lock.

''Normal..?'' Luke repeated. He didn't want to be normal. He wanted to be them. But despite wanting to say just that or turn it into something deep and romantic he just grabbed the hands of the girl and placed them on his shoulders as he placed his on her cheeks. ''But what about your promise?''

And without waiting for a reply he leaned in and kissed her like he had never done before. He had actually not, not without his powers. He hoped he still knew how.

Her promise? Lucas leaned in and kissed her again before she could even think about what he'd meant, there mouths melding into one.  She slipped her arms from his shoulders to around his neck, getting more into the moment than she expected she would, especially since they were still technically in the library.  What if someone came in? What if they got busted? This was a definite no no, and she certainly didn't want to sit in on anymore sex talks, especially since she wasn't intending to have sex until..

Her promise!

Lucas thought she meant to sleep with him, and she suddenly felt the heat in her cheeks.  She pushed her hands to his chest and moved him back enough so that their lips could break away and their eyes could meet.  "Still keepin' my promise." She informed him a little too sternly, but even as she said it, her body rejected what she was saying.  It didn't want to keep that promise.. but she knew she had to! At least until she and Lucas were married, or if maybe she knew they would eventually get married.  How could she know he was for sure the right one? She craved his touch, and hated that she wanted to feel him everywhere.  "What else can we do?" She asked semi seductively, her body relaxing again and leaning into him a little, her fingers curling and scratching his clothed chest lightly.  "Other than that, of course.." There was a bit of lust in her voice and she pulled her bottom lip into her mouth, her teeth clamping down on it as she gave him flirty, doe eyes.

''Hold hands, for one.'' Luke replied as he grabbed hold of her hand like a normal set of girlfriend and boyfriend. The flirty look of his girlfriend was making it hard not to jump to conclusions, but she stood by her decision, so should he. He looked into her eyes and smiled, leaning in and quickly kissing her, pulling back with the words ''if you want to wait, so do I.''

He let go of her hand and pressed it against his chest again. This moment of powerlessness, Luke wasn't sure how long it'd last. He had to make every second count when it meant Karalie being able to touch him. He stood by his decision though, she was the one to say when they'd go to the next level. And although the moment between no and yes would be hard he knew it'd be worth it.

''I think this moment is not so much about what we can do as much as it is about what you can do.'' He said, figuring that Karalie was the one that got to do stuff she never experienced before. Him touching her was not really that big of a deal, but every time she had wanted to touch his it phased her or she had something covering her hand, and Luke knew that couldn't be fun. So that was why he decided to sit both himself and the girl down in nearby chairs, with him just looking at Karalie expectantly. What would she do?

Though there was no real denying Luke still had to chase off the occassional impure thought from his head.

Karalie's heart fluttered when he took her hands and looked deep into her eyes, telling her he'd wait as long as she would.  She was starting to genuinely love having him around, especially now that they could touch, and though it was tempting to go back on her promise to herself, there was something larger at stake.  She couldn't go back on her convictions now for petty lust, but she could sure fool around!  

Luke pressed her hands to his chest and her eyes glimmered with pure, unadulterated joy.  He told her it was more about whatever she wanted than whatever he wanted, and she had to admit it was true.  He could, and did, touch her whenever he wanted.  It wasn't a new sensation for him to stroke her hair or graze her arm with the tips of his fingers.  He sat them down on chairs and Karalie wished they were back in one of their rooms.  She didn't care whose room, but a room, with a locked door, in a building where the could get away with being naughty.  Then again, it was probably for the best they were semi public at the moment.  She knew she could get carried away, and though she trusted both herself and Lucas not to take it too far, the temptation would be greater in a bed behind closed doors.

She licked her lips and then nibbled on the inside of her bottom one.  Where to begin?  Her eyes moved anxiously to the door before back at Lucas.  God did she want his shirt off..  Instead of pulling his shirt off though, she got up and slipped onto his lap, facing him.  Her eyes stayed on his, her heart beating as quickly as a hummingbirds wings.  Her hands slipped into his, slowly pulling them to her hips and leaving them there, before her fingers trailed slowly up his arms.  She could feel every hair slip past her fingertips and she stroked the limb until her fingers couldn't get any higher because of his shirt.  She watched her own hands as the roamed, now slowly coming in over his chest and stroking down over his firm abdomen.  She could never really appreciate how rock hard it was, and she gulped.  He was in such perfect shape.. she knew it was from the ability he no longer had, but she just didn't care about that now.  

She slowly explored, taking her time to truly appreciate the way the material of his shirt felt, soft and worn, the contrast of his jeans as her fingers slipped down to his thighs, careful not to touch him inappropriately, though she was certain he wouldn't care if she did.  If anything, he'd probably encourage that, but for now she wanted to just enjoy it, absorb it all, explore her boyfriends body, explore her own.  Her hands crept back up, this time creeping below his shirt.  She pulled it up a little as her digits slid over his smooth skin, a strange, sad sort of smile on her face.  It was such a natural thing for everyone else to touch, but it woke her up on so many levels.  His body was warm, bordering on hot.  Her hands came back down and she finally let her eyes meet his once more.  She slipped her hands onto his cheeks, pulling his mouth towards hers and planting a lingering kiss on his lips, a kiss that quickly got more heated.  Her fingers slipped through his hair and she shimmied herself closer to him as his tongue stroked hers. She hated how much she wanted from him in that moment, how just touching him wasn't enough.  She wanted to be enveloped by him, melded together into a single entity.  "I want to go back to your room." She told him suddenly in a low, breathy voice, gulping hard as her mouth stayed closed to his.  She could feel his hot breath tickling her lips and she licked her own in anticipation.  "This.. this isn't the place to, uhh.. be touching like this."  Her nose nuzzled his and she pulled back enough to look into his eyes, wondering if using your hands constituted as actual sex..

Together in the same room with noone around, just the two of them, Luke and Karalie. From the moment she got up and onto his lap he knew, with mixed feelings of both indescribable nerves of joy and sadness, that some promises were made just to break in the end. He wouldn't mind it at all, but he wanted to let Karalie make the decision and avoid it being some rash in-the-moment action of hormone driven teenagers..

With his hands on her hips he let her touch him, his chest, his arms. All over. Every touch bringing about a jolt of sheer joy, right up until she got to his thighs. There was no joy as she ran her hand over that region, no matter the intention, having the girl of your dreams touch you like that was not so much joyless as it was nerve wracking. She had her promise, but any memory of her ever saying anything about her promise was slowly being undone for the boy.

When she withdrew her fingers from his thigs and went up and underneath his shirt Luke felt his fingers clenching around her hips. He wondered if she wanted him as much as he wanted her in this moment, and how much he pretty much always wanted. He realized his fingers had begun trailing upwards a bit as Karalie moved her hand around under his shirt, when she pulled back slowly to place her hands on his cheeks, going in for a kiss. Luke returned the favor and raced upwards with his hands, placing one hand in the small of her neck and stroking her cheek with his thumb, his other arm wrapped around her entire body, pulling her almost into him as Karalie backed out of the kiss suddenly.

Her mouth kept close to his and he felt the urge to, despite the fact she could be pausing to say something, shut her up and just continue kissing. That they could do without breaking any promises, so why risk a break in which something else could happen for something that beyond a doubt entertained both parties?

Suddenly she said she wanted to go bak to his room. It hit him like a bomb, and shortly after she added that their current location wasn't one suited for the touching they were doing, or, as he half assumed, were going to do. Luke wanted to do more, way more, he was ready and he knew Karalie wanted more too. Lucas would still hold back if she wasn't ready, but she seemed to had made up her mind. ''Thought you'd never ask..'' He replied.

He got up from his seat while still holding his girlfriend and kissed her deeply as he tried to make for the door of the room in the midst of the kiss, which was heavily impeding on any sense of decency. He was half tempted to just tear of her clothing right then and there; he'd repay her, fuck it.

Lucas seemed more than happy to comply with her request, and truth be told she was feeling a little giddy.  More than a little.  A lot.  She was flat out giddy, drunk with excitement and maybe a little anxiety.  She was going to get to second base today, possibly third. It was weird..

Lucas got up and kissed her hard, pushing her towards the door and eliciting a giggle from her throat.  He was excited, and she couldn't blame him, though she truly hoped he didn't have it in his mind that she was going to put out.  Her promise was still her promise, and he'd promised to keep it along with her.  Of course that didn't mean other things couldn't happen, or wouldn't..  Karalie pushed him back, still a little startled that it didn't bring on memories.  "Baby, ya'll gotta wait!" She purred, amusement in her voice.  Karalie bit her bottom lip and opened the door, looking around before tugging Luke a bit hurriedly towards the exit.

The entire walk back to Luke's room was filled with mischievous glances and fingers tugging to pull the other along faster.  When they finally got into Luke's room he shut the door, the lock slipping into place, and Karalie thought she might forget how to breathe.  Was this what she wanted? Of course it was! Was it okay, though? It wasn't sinning, was it? Why hadn't she thought about this more before?  Her mind was foggy with the desire to touch Lucas and everything in his room.  Her fingers were itching to stroke every part of him and his things, as filthy and weird as that was.

Karalie gulped put her hands on the boys chest, running them slowly down to the hem of his shirt.  "Ya'll like bein' topless anyway." She teased in a sultry voice before pulling his shirt off.  Her heart was hammering and she eyed his body nervously.  Was it hot in there? Were the walls moving in a little or was it just her? Her breathing increased and she suddenly felt more nervous than excited.  No sex! She reminded herself it was strictly touching.  But touching involved probably seeing all of him.. and him seeing all of her.  Had she shaved?!

She cleared her throat, her eyes piercing his.  "I, uhh... I'm keepin' that promise, so yah remember. Just.. touching. I mean, we can keep our clothes on or, uhm.. some of them... or.."  She licked her lips again feeling lost. She was grateful when Luke's lips met hers again, stopping her from having to ramble on like an idiot any further.

Karalie touched his chest and the shirt that covered it and pulled it off. Ofcourse Luke did the complimentary raising of the arms to slip the shirt off but she took it off. The one who before this couldn't touch her own boyfriend, was now taking off his clothes. The boy took her hand and gently placed it on his chest as she began rambling about her promise and what they were gonna do and what it involved. If there was one thing Luke was sure of it was that there was no planning to something like this. It happened or it didn't.

He let go of her hand and let it rest on his chest as he placed both his hands on her hips and placed his lips on hers, not entirely being without expectation at this point, that he had to admit. Though he only did so to himself, not to her.

He paused the kiss and placed his forehead against hers, just gently stroking her hips with his thumbs, and even though she was still wearing clothing it was a nice sensation shooting through the boy. ''Quit talking, would ya?'' He said as he went back in for the kiss and pressed his own bare chest against the clothed one of the girl, forcing her hand slightly downwards from his chest.
