It was almost Christmas break and Ray was in need of a break! He'd just barely passed on of his classes and the rest hadn't been that much better. He had a few hours before dinner after his exams and so he'd headed to the auditorium. He hadn't had a lot of time to practice and he was feeling very restless. It was perhaps the only place he could be alone, besides his room and he really didn't want to be cooped up in his room and it was too cold outside. He would have gone to one of the larger training rooms but they were taken over with people getting tested for their power control. Raylaigh had already done his and he would have passed if he had stuck his last landing. He was very close, his takeoffs were better than they had ever been and his inflight maneuvers were superb but his landing had, as per usual gone horribly wrong. At least not so horribly that they'd had to take him to the infirmary.
He was finally getting used to being a tree, but the problem was it seemed he wasn't even done growing yet. Already he was five nine and the doctors said he was bound to just keep growing, bound to reach six feet before he graduated. He wore low sneakers and a pair of skinny black jeans and a blue jacket. As soon as he jumped up on the stage he shed the jacket and tossed it into the corner along with his messenger bag. He'd rolled up the sleeves on his button up shirt and stretched out. The flyer's wings fluttered as he shuffled his feet a little bit. The bright green colored headphones stood out against his skin as he bobbed his head to the tunes he'd had running through his head. He started moving in what would probably appear to be a random way to an onlooker but to himself and what he heard it all made perfect sense. His exams were over and Raylaigh was feeling good! He pulled his ipod out of his pocket and found his new recent favorite song.
Hitting 'Play' and turning the volume up he let the energy flow through his veins. He flowed across the stage mixing jumps with flips and spins. Finally, he couldn't keep himself on the ground any longer. The Auditorium was large and with its high ceiling he could do a fair bit of aerial acrobatics. He jumped and for a moment disappeared into the orchestra pit before shooting out into the air. He spun and sped for the far side of the room. When he got there he pretended he was swimming in the air and flipped, kicking off the wall. Ray dipped and soon he was spinning and dancing in midair. He tucked a foot close and his other foot's wings pumped madly. He spun in a tight circle almost reaching the chairs before he let go and using one set of wings for balance and lift he raised his arms into the air and his other set of wings spun him into a fast and wild spin. He threw his head back and closed his eyes. He laughed aloud as he spun, thrilled by the adrenaline and dizzying effect it was having on his brain.
