Buzzing Like A Honeybee~ [Open to all and any]

[Finn Eogeum]

Finn couldn't stop smiling and he couldn't fathom why. He'd just parted ways with Rue after watching the Hobbit, and that was great. Kind of. He was no actor, or director, or filmmaker of any kind, but there were way too many prolonged dramatic close-ups on people's faces. It felt ridiculous by the end. Oh well. He was just glad his mood was staying level, meaning his happiness felt more genuine. The happiness he couldn't quite label.

Well, maybe, maybe it had something to do with what happened after the movie. It was hesitant, but... Rue had kissed him. On the cheek. And it was a friendly(?) gesture and all, but it was intimate for Finn, and he struggled with intimacy, but somehow, he only freaked out for a couple seconds, before bursting into a fit of giggles. People touching him was usually bad enough, dealing with that just made him so happy. And Rue was such an awesome person, he hadn't given up on Finn once.

...speaking of giving up, Finn's happiness was put on mute momentarily, and he set into a daze. Recently, it felt like he had backtracked a little, mood ways. By means of doing something he didn't want to speak or think about now. All he would do is remind himself to always be wearing long sleeves. 

During this daze, he was looking at the ground, and only looked up quickly enough to notice the lamppost a couple of centimetres away from his face. Which he walked right into, bouncing back and putting a hand to his head, trying to find somewhere to sit as he wobbled about, moaning, "Ugh.... budgies..." Woops.

Jackson was just doing some simple shopping for his Grams. It was the weekend, so he had the time to do it in between doing his homework. Jackson didn’t go out much on the weekends. That is, he didn’t go out much with his friends. Since Grams lived by herself, Jackson decided he owed her all that time, at least, and so would usually only go out for necessary things. Like eggs, and milk, and cereal, and hot pockets, and fruit-roll ups, and cookies…..okay, the milk, eggs, and cereal were for grams, the rest was for Jackson. She’d given him enough cash to get some extra things for meals and he went and wasted most of it on junk food, as usual.

His willpower was so weak…

Jackson sighed into himself as he walked down the sidewalk of downtown Pilot Ridge. He wanted to dooo something! Like…like…like go see the new Hobbit movie! Or that musical, Into The Woods! Or anything like that! All of his friends had already gone, and he was…!

The boy’s thoughts were interrupted by the sound of skull hitting metal, and he looked up in time to see a guy stumbling around with his hand to his head and groaning in pain. He looked like he could use some help. “Hey…!” he called out without a second thought. “Are you okay? Do you need some help?” He scuttled over there quickly, but as his hands were occupied by grocery bags, he felt a twinge of frustration that he couldn’t immediately extend a hand to this person to help. “Ah! Sorry! Just let me…” Jackson started shuffling the bags around to try to fit them in one hand. It was times like these that he wished he had a bicycle. One with a basket. It’d look pretty dorky, but it’d be functional, right? “Hey, hey…so, uh, what’s your name?” Wasn’t that what you were supposed to do when someone hit their head? Ask them their name? Because concussions were a thing. “I’m Jackson,” he offered.

Finn struggled to fix his thoughts together, legs twisting around each other like playful snakes or something - it was bad. He blinked and squinted at the approaching guy. What had he said? What was Finn supposed to say in return? "Yes." The saturator being his helpful self there. His head throbbed at the point of contact and he put his spare hand behind him, still blindly searching for a place to sit, so he didn't hit the ground.

"Finn, and I don't know a Jack." Obviously, he'd misheard. Or at least, misinterpreted. "Am I supposed to know you? Sorry if I am." He hissed and finally parked his butt on a bench, shaking his head a little. He looked at the boy again and tilted his head, "I definitely don't recognise you. Hi." Had to have a good greeting, of course.

He thought for a moment, eyeing the multiple bags on Jack's son's arm, "You don't happen to have an ice pack in there or something, do you?" Because everyone possessed magic and telepathy and foresight and this kid definitely knew he would need an ice pack today for some reason. Somehow, these kinds of things didn't pass through Finn's mind. Ah well. He could hope at least.

This guy was…..was he okay?? Jackson was thinking that he might’ve hit his head a lot harder than Jackson initially thought. What if he had brain damage!? It would explain his answers to Jackson’s questions that weren’t anything close to what he was asking.

Because 1. he definitely wasn’t okay. And 2. this guy didn’t even recognize that they were strangers.

Jackson’s first thought that maybe the guy, Finn?, was just naturally slow like this. That would explain why he ran into the pole in the first place, right? Jackson shook his head. “No, you don’t know me. At least, I don’t know you, so I assume you don’t know me.”

He hovered closely to the man who called himself Finn, holding his arms out awkwardly as if expecting him to stumble in his disorientation. Jackson managed a smile amid his worried features. “Hi,” he returned. At least he was sitting down now. There was a much lesser chance of falling when one was sitting down. “Um…” Jackson held up his bags. “Ice pack?” So he did hit his head! And needed something to bring down the swelling. “No, but…” Jackson took a seat in the space next to Finn and started digging through the bags for something that could be used instead. “Here,” he said after a moment. Jackson held a bag of frozen peas out to Finn.
