It wasn't that Live never wanted to see Lucas again but she also wasn't going to be inviting to come hangout next week either. Live was one of those people that you would meet, and then not see for a while until you randomly ran into her somewhere. She wasn't one to invite people into her life and she was straight forward about that. She didn't lead people on to believe that now that they had met her they were now gonna be her friend or something. Most people were lucky if she was just friendly for a night.

At this point, Live was sufficiently drunk. She wasn't blackout drunk but she definitely wasn't going to be remembering anything from this point on very clearly and the real Live was well enough intoxicated that her bitchy-ness was watered down with rum and a decent mood was being brought out by the beer. While she was glad that Lucas wasn't taking his pants off, the drunk horny part of her got a little disappointed. When the boy asked about orgasms, Live's eyebrows raised. She chuckled a bit and leaned in closer to the boy, "That's a big promise to live up to." She said, her eyes scanning up and down him again. "Damn.. You really are hot." If Live had been sober, this would have been really embarrassing.

Live gave the boy a questioning look but pulled out her phone. She honestly did want to know what his power was. And besides, she kind of wanted to show off hers as well. She opened up YouTube and searched for "crazy hip-hop dance". She clicked on the first video that came up and held the phone up so Lucas could watch. VIDEO

A promise was a promise, right? And she provided him with a video like he told her to, so now Lucas needed to hold up his end of the bargain. He watched the video and took it in, and it happened to be random moves by different people instead of a dance by a singular individual.It was doable, he decided with a bit of a nod, maybe a bit painful depending on how different the floor in that place was, but he was a man of his word, no crawling back now. Yeah sure the body strength was there, but there had also been booze involved and while not in the mood to throw up he wasn't quite sure what that kind of movement would do to him.

With a small step back he motioned for her to put the phone down as he shook his arms and his neck a bit, this was just about the most complex thing he would have done with his power since he had it, but he didn't see it as a challenge to his power, nono, he saw it as a challenge to impress Live. ''Ofcourse I'm hot.'' He replied. ''An' all this can be yers fer only.. not much.'' He joked as he looked around to make sure he wouldn't kick people in the teeth or something.

As he deemed the area clear he began with the flips seen in the beginning of the video before picking out some random moves of it to follow up with, most of which, due to him not feeling like using his head, involved him putting his arm on the ground and twirling around it and.. doing whatever those guys in the video did. Luke had no idea how it looked but it got him dizzy as fuck, yet he kept up as he hopped on a single arm and suddenly ended by standing on both his arms instead of his feet.

Still upside down he smirked at Live. ''One, my arm hurts, two, I'm dizzy.'' He exclaimed as he pouted his still upside down lips. ''Kiss the pain away?'' He boldly asked.

Live watched the video, seeing it for the first time as well, and chuckled. It wasn't exactly a dance but they were technically dance moved. Plus they seemed really hard whatever they were and she figured that whatever his power was, this might be something difficult. She watched as Lucas shook himself loose and checked the room for space. Her eyes narrowed as she watched him prepare. What exactly was his power? She rolled her eyes a bit at his replay to her calling him hot. She sort of enjoyed Lucas flirting. He didn't just drop it but he also wasn't making too many advances to the point that it was uncomfortable.

Next thing she knew he was flipping and spinning and basically doing exactly what the video had showed. Even though Live's current state made her fairly easily impressed, she still found herself in legitimate awe. She was especially impressed by the fact that he could do this with alcohol in his system as well. It didn't exactly explain what his power was, and she would have a few questions for him in a moment, but she guessed it was something along the lines of "monkey see, monkey do".

When he asked for a kiss, Live rolled her eyes again. He really was persistent. She let out a heavy sigh and then a small smirk played across her lips. She had just thought of the perfect way to introduce her power.

"Alright." She said, setting down her cup and then turning back towards Lucas. She didn't walk towards him though, instead she raised her right hand and gave a flick of her wrist. The motion was completely unnecessary, but it was all for effect. Suddenly blackness swirled up from the ground, seeming to suck Live into it. It was like a twirl of shadows that quickly wisped Live away. It looked like the girl had just disappeared into the darkness when in front of Lucas a circle of darkness began to form. Live's head began to rise up from it and she paused for a second to look Lucas in the eyes. It was the closest she had gotten to the boy so far, well at least her face. Her dull gray eyes were now completely black, even the whites of her eye now looked like a blacked hole. Then she rose up from the darkness just a bit further until her lips were even with his. She smirked and then started to lean in, like she was going to kiss him. However, just before her lips met his, Live returned to her shadow form and darkness swished over Lucas' face. She then quickly moved her form back to where she was standing and changed back into her human form.

"And that my friend, is why they call me a Shadow Walker." She said grabbing her cup again and taking another drink.

What a way to introduce your power, what a way to leave a guy hanging, what a way to make him fill his mind with possible things, way to.. make him.. remember..

The position he was in would make it look like a smile, but it was far from it. The shadow.. while in any other situation he could find it in him to think it cool, the way she used it was a bit.. how often did she tease him just like that? He quickly tried to move his mind away from the way she used it though and instead focused on.. he found it actually pretty hard to focus on anything else at the moment, and the only thing keeping his hands from caving was his mind knowing that it had to take action and keep tensing the muscles to keep him from falling over. His legs were wobbling around though, his body keeping them just straight enough to keep his balance in check without it looking like he had perfect control.

''That..'' Lucas replied. He had a major joke in his head but it quickly faded as he thought of what had just happened, and how it wasn't the first time he had experienced it. How he hurt the one that used to do it to him, how he liked that kind of teasing. But now, now the memory kind of hurt, maybe he felt like he needed a party to let go or something, he knew he needed to do something about the whole situation but he never realised it could be in this way. He let out a sigh, closing his eyes as he felt the sting of what he knew was coming, he had always been so damn emotional. Slowly his arms were taken over by Lucas himself and instantly they began wobbling, soon caving under his weight and making him hit his head on the floor. He fell flat on his back and exhaled.

Well that was no what she had expected to happen. Live was just trying to mess with the boy and she had figured he would bounce right back from her little tease. However, next thing she knew the boy had fallen, hit his head, and was now laying on his back. She instantly felt bad, which wasn't something she normally felt. However, she also found it kinda funny. And being as drunk as she was, she was not in the right state to respond properly.

She walked over to him and squatted down so she was looking down at his face from above, so the view was still upside down. She tipped her head to the side, giving a crooked smile, "Did I scare yah?" She asked, taking another sip from her drink. She did feel bad for him, but only because she thought he might have hurt himself. Live was only capable of so much sympathy.

If she wasn't so drunk, she probably would have noticed the change in mood of the boy. She was pretty use to feeling down in the dumps a lot, so it was fairly easy for her to notice when someone else was feeling that way. Not that she normally cared how others were feeling, but she could still tell. However, the room was barely staying still and her memory and thoughts were being bogged down with alcohol so her perception skills were not at their peak at that particular moment.

There he was, on the ground and in front of a cute girl, about to bawl his eyes out over something he had done himself. He broke up with Zoelle, or, he made her break up with him, or.. it was all blurry. After all that time getting her to see them as a couple he went ahead and fucked it up, and with someone who'd likely not ever return his feelings no less.

When she walked over, which he soon saw, he quickly blinked away a few tears and began focusing on Live. Part of him took joy in knowing she was there for him, but another part of him saw her as the bitch who made him remember what he wanted to forget. Feigning a smile and sitting up he turned around to face Live. ''Scare me?'' He said, putting on a happy mask, as usual. ''Maybe ya hurt me a bit by denyin' me those sweet lips o' yers.'' The hurting part wasn't a lie, the lips, even though he had been hunting for them, kind of was a lie.

With a quick flop he got to his feet, facing the girl who was still squatted down. ''An' again with th' fun position.'' He attempted to joke as a single, silent tear fled down his cheek, which he quickly wiped away in the hopes she wouldn't notice. This was a moment where booze could do him good, but he knew he couldn't get drunk himself.. there was no blacking out, no forgetting the night. He'd remember what he did vividly his entire life, and memories without a way out of reality was pure hell at times.

He would avoid talking about her power for now and instead try to focus on the subject she had given him; his own power. ''So, basically my power lets me see an' do.'' He smiled sadly. ''Pretty much anythin', too.''

Live thought she saw something on Lucas' face as she was squatting over but he got up before she could identify what it was. Plus, her drunk mind didn't let her stay focused on something so small for too long.

She rolled her eyes at him as she brought herself back to a standing position. "My lips are anything but sweet, darlin'." She said crossing her arms. This time, she saw the tear, and she knew what it was. Her eyes gave the boy a surprised, questioning look, "And did you just see someone crying or is your ego really that sensitive to being denied one kiss?"

It was definitely a harsh thing to say, if Live had known what was actually going on in the poor boys head at the moment. But she didn't and she was drunk and she was gonna say whatever she was thinking. Plus, while she did find the boy very attractive and fairly tolerable (at least in her drunken state), she didn't have any special liking towards him or any reason to watch her words and try to be nice and sensitive.

She took another swig from her cup. It was almost halfway empty again. She looked at it for a moment and then reached the cup towards the boy. "Here. I need to stop before I get myself sick."

When she spoke Lucas could feel his fist clenching up yet felt no need to fix it, not for her, not for anyone, not now. He knew that the girl wasn't able of compassion, her words had shown him that much though that didn't mean he went fully numb just to get her to like him. ''Yes.'' He responded bluntly. He had the opportunity to make some big ego-trip out of it all and save face, or turn it into some kind of huge flirt, but the truth was a bit more grim, he felt, and not something to deny. ''That's exactly what is going on. I really, really want to kiss you.'' If he wasn't so down at the moment he'd roll his eyes at his own words, allowing them to droop out like a sarcastic slime. He rubbed at his eye and sniffed, focusing on Live with her cup and genius responses, almost finding himself hoping she'd choke in it or something. How quick was the human mind to be turned, not one minute ago he wanted her, and now he was starting to hate her for what she said and not once did it occur to him that it could have been the booze speaking.

When she handed over the cup stating that she needed to stop before getting herslef sick, Lucas took the cup without trying to touch her or move closer or whatever else a young man in search of affection might do. Instead he instantly finished the drink Live handed to him and crumpled up the cup before throwing it to the floor. He was pretty much done caring at this point, no need for manners now, right? Not when a total stranger was able to hurt him like this. As the booze dropped down his alimentary tract he could feel the sting of tears once more. Boy, for someone who got girls to break up with him he sure was sensitive about this, he just hoped this whole thing with Zo wouldn't turn into what happened when Karalie broke up with him.

Whatever, like anyone would miss him. Maybe he was doomed to be like this as punishment for his actions or something, like karmic justice.

He looked at Live. He kind of hoped she got sick, just so he could not help her, deny her like she denied him. Petty, yes, but he didn't care at this point. ''Who cares if ya get sick?'' He said glumly. ''People don't care 'bout anyone but themselves. An' I thought I found an exception in you.''

With that last word his accent dropped and his eyes seemed to pierce her soul, if she had one.

Live definitely picked up on the change in the boys mood now. It was like someone had flipped a switch in the boys brain from flirty to pissed and depressed, and that someone had been her. Normally Live would have taken pride in knowing that she was the cause of such distress in someone; somehow ticking people off had become a comfort to her. However, for some odd reason but she found herself feeling bad about it. Maybe it was just the booze talking or maybe it was the fact that she hadn't been trying to make the boy upset. In fact, she had actually kind of enjoyed her time around Lucas. He was funny and flirty (but not too touchy or grabby) and now he was mad at her; and she could see it in his eyes.

However, Live only had so much compassion in her. While she did feel a tug in her heart for the pain in the boys eyes, her sympathy did not reach too far since the boys words also managed to tick her off as well. Her eyes narrowed and for a moment she didn't say or do anything. She just stood there staring, her dull gray eyes like empty voids piercing right back into Lucas'. In a matter of seconds, he had managed to bring the bitch back out from her alcoholic slumber.

Then Live did something that was probably the last thing Lucas' expected. She took one step forward and planted her lips on his. It was quick, just a few second kiss, just enough to make a point. She stepped back, the same hardened expression in her eyes. "There. Happy?" She snapped.

She turned and grabbed her bag and what she thought was her alcohol, but was actually someone else's tequila, from the counter and then started towards the door next to the fridge that led to the backyard. She grabbed the handle and flung the door open, but stopped before walking out of it. "You're right..." She turned around to look at Lucas again, "People don't care about anyone but themselves. Especially me. Why do you think I call myself 'Live'? It's cause I live for myself. Not for assholes like you who get pissed just cause they get denied one little fucking kiss. I actually was enjoying my night with you so far, and you might have gotten a real kiss if you hadn't turned into such a dick at the end there. I'm going out to find a cig. Thanks to you, I'm breaking my three week streak. If you get some sense about you and would like to come apologize, I'll be out back. If not, I hope the rest of your night sucks and the rest of your life is a living hell." Okay, she didn't literally mean the last bit but she had no problem saying it.

And with that, Live walked out the door, ignoring anything the boy would say, and slammed it behind her. A cigarette was more than necessary now.

So, he was about to fuck this up as well. Or rather, he had when he said that thing about her being sick, that one was a bit out of line he felt. But what she did following those words he hadn't expected at all, he expected to be torn a new one, or be ripped into, his heart being torn out like it had been so many times before, name carved in each one to see who broke him. Would she be the new one? He hoped not. But that was not what happened as she stepped closer and planted her lips on his for a good few seconds. It only took a fraction of those seconds for Lucas to widen his eyes in surprise before closing his eyes and calming down, but just as he was getting into it she stopped, asking him sternly if he was happy. She did this because.. heb said he wanted one? Did she honestly believe he was upset about not getting a kiss?

So maybe this whole thing was a bit stretched. Though it did confirm that Luke was a good liar even when faux-drunk. ''N-'' He wanted to reply, but the girl was turned around and grabbing her bag and a bottle of something Luke was sure of she wanted to lay off of and made for the door, throwing one last rant in the face of the perpetually depressed Texan. He kept widening his eyes at her words, learning new things all over. She was attempting to quit smoking and he was making her break that.. promise to herself. Another broken promise. She was quite good in piling up the guilt, it seemed. And hitting sore spots all over.

Yet he cared more than he should, he enjoyed the evening with her like she told him she was, and while she was drunk and it remained to be seen how she was sober, he wished to be around for that. See if she really was that negative, which he doubted. He'd never encountered anyone more negative than him.

Without her, he felt his night would suck, and his life was already a living hell. Her words chiming through his head he felt himself unable to move, which he hadn't felt since before he manifested. As she slammed the door Luke could feel his breathing slowly return and his heart beating again as he moved for the door instantly, opening it and stepping out, where Live was just about to light the cigarette in her mouth.

''Don't ya dare smoke, Live.'' He said sternly, the amused part of him being far off and now his entire being feeling very depressed.

He got up next to her and stared up into the sky, inhaling courage. ''I wasn't sad 'bout ya denyin' me a kiss.'' He told her. ''I was sad 'cause yer power reminded me of my ex's, an' she broke up with me not too long ago, I came ta this party ta clear me head some, but along came ye, an' instantly I no longer wanted that, y'know? No matter what we feel, I'm enjoying my time with ya, an' ye are with me, so.. why should we- I - let this ruin th' night..?''

He sighed once more. ''Please forgive me, please.''

It had only taken Live a fraction of a second to find someone to bum a cigarette off of. She had already pulled out her lighter and was about to light up when the door to kitchen swung open and out walked Luke. She was honestly surprised to see the boy again. Most guys would have taken Live's blow up as a sign to move onto some other girl with less of an attitude problem. Guess this kid wasn't most guys.

When he quickly told her not to dare smoking, Live felt herself get more pissed. Who the hell was he to tell her what to do? She was about to tell him off again and light her cigarette and probably blow a puff of smoke at his face, just for good measure, when he kept talking. His story about his girlfriend leaving him and the matching powers, didn't really tug at any strings for Live. She had never really had a real relationship, at least one that actually meant anything. However, him being upset about a breakup made a lot more sense than being pissed about not getting a kiss.

He actually apologized. She really hadn't expected that, even though she had told him to do so. Most people had to much pride to apologize, especially to a bitch like Live. She let out a huff, lowering her cigarette for a moment and turned to face him. Her eyes still had a hardened look to them.

She was silent for a moment before finally speaking, "Look, whatever happened with your ex or girlfriend or whatever, really isn't my problem and I don't want to get dragged into your little soap opera about it." It was definitely harsh but it was how Live felt about it and she wasn't one to sugarcoat things, "I'll forgive you, just don't think I'm gonna be all sensitive about your 'situation' or something okay?" There was still at least one or two good hours left of this party, and she did want to spend it with Lucas, but she didn't want to be dealing with Mr. Heartache all night. "I won't use my power anymore though if that makes you feel any better.." She added begrudgingly as she brought the cigarette back up to her lips.

She paused before lighting it, "And I'm smoking this either way." Live this drunk needed a cigarette at this point anyways. She wasn't really a smoker, she had only bought maybe two packs of cigarettes in her life. She honestly hated the things, they were just cancer in a little stick. But, she also drank ridiculous amounts of alcohol that could lead to liver cancer so health wasn't exactly her top concern. However, she usually only smoked at parties when she was really drunk and could bum off other people.

Well that went relatively easy, apologising wasn't really something he never did so he could say he had some practice, but like this, to have it be accepted without a word or action.. maybe she did like him for him, and not just for his company. That was probably just wishful thinking though. Still, Lucas would freely admit to liking her, from what he had seen so far anyway. Women with a temper? He'd sign up for that anytime.

He showed her a smile, though a bit forced still at this point due to the lingering thought of Zoelle, and now also that of Karalie. Somehow those two partying it up in the back of his mind didn't really work for him at the moment. And his dirty little mind didn't help as he instantly pictured them grinding it out, which didn't really help him in settling down.

But he finally managed to turn his mind back to Live and the words she spoke, he nodded at them as he tried to understand, and actually managed to get behind most of the reasons, or stipulations. ''I think a bit o' harsh truths are what I need right now.'' He said as he squatted on the ground looking up at her. ''So I understand th' no sensitive thing. Just allow me ta be a bit sensitive at times, aye?''

It wasn't like he was opposed to smoking, but to see her light one up after having a stopping streak going for three weeks sent a shiver down his spine. ''Not th' right person ta tell ya ta stop. Ye'll 'ave ta do that yerself.''

''An' yer power.. keep usin' it. Maybe it's good fer me ta associate it with someone else fer a bit.'' He said suddenly, his gaze finding her eyes. ''Even if only fer tonight, which I sincerely hope turns inta at least a week.''

Though Live was definitely one to hold a grudge, Lucas' hadn't done anything to offend her to horribly. She had mostly just gotten pissed that he had changed from enjoyable to an asshole over a kiss, but since it had turned out to be something else he was upset about, Live was able to get over the situation pretty easily. Plus, she had already spent most of her night around this kid, and while she wasn't the jealous type, she could get a bit possessive sometimes. As far she was concerned, Lucas' was her's for the night; so long as he didn't start whining about his ex or become a big douche again.

Live couldn't help but chuckle when he said he needed some harsh truth. If harsh was what he was looking for, he definitely came to the right place. "Just know I won't be babying you about 'nuthin. And if you start crying again, I might have to slap you." She said taking a puff of her cigarette.

She rolled her eyes a bit at him. At least he wasn't trying to rip the thing out of her hand or give some speech about how 'cigarettes are bad for you'.

When he said she could keep using her power, Live smirked. "Really? Well, watch this then." She said turning away from him to look at a couple standing a bit farther out in the yard. They were just standing there talking, both with a drink in their hand. With the hand her cigarette was in, she raised her arm in a quick motion. As she did a giant swell of darkness rose from the ground where the couple was standing. The swirl of black seemed to consume the two into a bubble of darkness. The girl shriek and the boy screamed some profanities. After about two seconds, both came running out of the dark bubble and back towards the house. Live chuckled a bit. She could have been really mean and made the shadows become solid and trapped the two inside the bubble of darkness but just giving the two a good scare was enough for Live. She didn't often use her powers to torment others but every now and again it was fun to do so. I mean, if you were basically the queen of darkness, you'd have to have a little bit of fun with it?

She narrowed her eyes at him slightly, giving a questioning look, "What turns into a week?" She hadn't exactly been paying attention to what he was saying, and her last couple drinks were starting to catch up to her. The funny thing was, she was drunk enough at this point that she probably wasn't going to remember much of what happened after she showed Lucas' the dancing video. Not that she wouldn't remember Lucas' but a decent bit of the details from the night would be lost by the morning.

Oh goody, a show. Lucas liked shows! At least, he used to when not in his state of constant gloom. Now he was in a state of.. between things. He was sad and he let people know, but he didn't want to be sad and actively tried to turn himself around. Meanwhile the words she gave him chimed in his head, that she wasn't afraid to slap him if he started crying, and when he thought about that happening, combined with what she said about babying he let out a chuckle. That'd be a fun sight to behold for just about anyone.

He got up to his feet and was met by the smell of the cigarette when she did something with her hand and instantly a couple way in the back were engulfed by darkness. It was quite funny to see, how others handled torment and how they ran, almost made Luke want to add insult to injury by jumping at them or something. He coughed lightly and turned to Live. ''That was awesome!'' He exclaimed, a genuine smile on his face this time. As nice and gentle as he could be, he could find plenty joy in seeing other people squirm, be it through violent means or simple pranks like this. ''D'ya often do shit like this? Man, I'd kill fer a power like that. 'S fuckin' awesome!'' He was basically nerding out, something about darkness and feeling at home.

When she asked about what turning into a week meant he was a bit caught by surprise. He supposed she would catch on any way he said it, but still he thought she was a girl to let a comment like that slide, and basically everything she'd said pointed in the direction of them not seeing eachother again. ''Err..'' He hummed a bit, unsure of how to respond when he basically got to a point where his mind said 'fuck it' and held out his hand for the cigarette, which he had never tried ever, by the way. Though he knew how to hold it perfectly, and even do some tricks with it if needed. Which reminded him of how rawnchy watching videos on throat movement was.

Ah, research.

Live was glad that Lucas' seemed to have turned his mood around. It would have been a real drag if he had become a giant downer for the rest of the night. She was especially pleased that he found her little joke to be so entertaining. Live rolled her eyes and chuckled. "I usually use it in more subtle ways. Let's just say, shadows are everywhere so its pretty easy to mess with people without them even knowing it."

While Live did enjoy doing these kinds of pranks, she didn't do them on a daily basis or anything. Live preferred to keep her distance from people and didn't like to interact with them more than necessary so doing big pranks all the time wasn't really her thing. She had done it a good bit back in high school, but that had always ended her up in trouble since she was the only who could manipulate shadows. Now she more used her power to get back at people who ticked her off at work. Like using the shadows in their grocery bags to crush a few eggs or rip open a bag of flower and such. She took satisfaction in knowing that when they got home they would have quite the mess to deal with. And best part was, no one knew it was her.

Live was slightly surprised when he reached his hand out for her cigarette, especially considering he had just tried to stop her from smoking. But she handed him the cigarette anyways. Some people were all big about not giving cigarettes out to non-smokers (not that Live knew whether Lucas smoked or not, though she guessed not) but she wasn't one to care. If someone wanted a cigarette, that was their choice. Who was she to try to dictate to them what to do?

His response threw Live off a bit. Someone wanted to hang around her more? I mean, she had had guys hint about more time with her, but that usually wasn't in the innocent context that Lucas seemed to be talking about. "You want to hangout with me?" Live said, genuine surprise in her voice.
