Jackson, Harmony, and Maisie engage in a good, old-fashioned, five-course eating contest. The winner gets a prize.

Harmony usually didn't willingly engage in interactions with other people. Because other people in her experience were pretty much all idiots and undeserving of her time. But in this case, interacting with other people meant a prize. Money. And since her mom and uncle had lately been cutting her off from any sort of allowance, she could really use the cash. How else was she supposed to support her pranking and awesome urban fashion?

She hadn't eaten or drank anything all morning in preparation, though Tomer had told her that probably wasn't the best way to prepare. In fact he was a little hesitant to join her thinking this was easy money.

She'd arrived at the restaurant that was throwing the contest (free advertisement) early to check out the competition. And she wasn't worried at all. Lame-os the whole lot of them.

"Psh...you guys are gonna eat my dust...if you can...you know, cuz you'll be too full," she said, attempting some tough talk as the contestants took their seats.

Maisie had arrived a few minutes before Harmony and had been amicably talking with another contestant when the other girl spoke up with her bold declaration. Maisie tilted her head quizzically. "I don't actually know if dust is edible. I mean, well I'm sure it is, but I mean, if you REALLY wanted to get technical about it there will already be dust on our food and we'll eat it. I'm not sure though that it will be yours specifically," she pointed out. Maisie said as she joined in and sat next to the girl she was talking to. "But you know, anyway, good luck!" she grinned down the table, settling in to eat her share. She'd always wanted to try an eating contest and was really excited to get the chance. She wasn't entirely sure that she was going to win, in fact she wondered if she'd make it past the third course but life was a game and she wanted to play it.

“This would probably be the best time to wish you had high metabolism or like, four stomachs or something!” She chuckled to herself.

This was probably a bad idea. But free food. But bad idea….his blood sugar was gonna go through the roof when this was all over. Why was he doing this again? Right, free food. Ha ha ha….

Jackson wondered if he would be allowed to take home the leftovers. Grams would probably enjoy them quite a bit.

Jackson had no ideation of winning this competition. He could eat something amazing, but the boy was still human, after all, and didn’t possess the four stomachs that this one girl was suggesting they ought to have. “Ha ha ha…if only,” he said nervously. Man…why did he have to get sat next to these two….loud…girls.

Granted, he liked girls, there was no way he was gay! (Complete denial) But he just didn’t like girls that were so….loud. And….tomboyish? Boisterous? The kind who would he was afraid might actually beat him up if he looked at them the wrong way? No, Jackson liked girls that were quiet, cute, sweet, and feminine. The kind who decorated their rooms in nothing but pink and stuffed animals and dolls. Jackson was pretty sure these girls didn’t play with dolls…

Jackson shook away his worried and tried to put on a better face. “S-so! Um…best of luck to you ladies,” he said semi-brightly, pointing his finger up in a useless gesture. “Just don’t make yourselves sick, because…you know, it looks great now, but I’m sure nobody wants to see it again once it’s already been chowed, y’know?” He laughed. Yeah, that was stupid and he was slightly red in the face, but oh well. “And besides, cute girls like you two probably shouldn’t be overeating anyway.” It would ruin their image of girlishness, wouldn’t it?

Harmony glared at the girl next to her. As usual, Harmony held on to the small hope that strangers wouldn't be complete idiots and maybe she could actually find someone worthy of a friendly conversation, but then the idiots had to open their mouths and prove her wrong.

"Have you ever heard of a metaphor. Sheesh," she said, rolling her eyes and sighing loudly. At least once they started eating, the other girl's mouth would be too full to hear her being stupid.

The boy didn't appear to have a much higher IQ. Harmony actually almost growled at the 'cute' comment. Was he for real? Did he think she was going to turn into some giggling school girl and let him win just because he called her cute?

Well maybe if Tomer had said it....

"Are you saying we'll be fat and ugly if we can finish a meal? Whatever loser..." She was busy trying to think of something more to throw at him, when the food started coming.

"Keep your luck...you're gonna need it," Harmony said, grinning as she picked up her utensils.

Maisie had entered this contest to have fun, and in the interest of fun decided that it was best to ignore someone so antagonistically rude and condescending. To that end she didn't even spare the girl another glance before smiling back at boy who had mentioned something about cute girls not eating too much. Which she also found rude but in a socially awkward way, she was willing to bet that he hadn't meant to be rude. However, if that was his idea of "tough talking" his competition he had a lot to learn. "Aw, don't worry about me I'm pretty tough. Besides it's just food and I promise if I throw up I won't do it where you can see or hear me," she teased. "But, are you sure you should be worried about me?" she smirked with a raised eyebrow. There were other people in the competition too, anyone could win, but Maisie at least was determined not to make herself sick while eating.

She'd researched some competitive eating methods and was looking forward to seeing if her Google search would pay off.

As a (mostly) straight A student, Jackson would argue that he actually had quite the high IQ. But that was neither here nor there since the opinion wasn’t said out loud and Jackson was a telekinetic, not a telepath.

And yes. Jackson thought girl’s liked being called cute. Even when they were homely. Not that they were, but Jackson wouldn’t date them, and not just because they were loud. “Uh….no…this is a big meal though, and overeating isn’t healthy in general,” he tried to explain. He had the feeling it was falling on stubborn, deaf ears, though.

The other girl was slightly more pleasant. Did I mention slightly. “Ah. Ha ha ha…okay, yeah. I wouldn’t want my image of you completely ruined so soon after meeting you, y’know?” Jackson continued to chuckle nervously as the food staring being placed before them. He was already drooling. “Um….nope, I’m good,” he said, looking up at the girl. “I have, like, three stomachs, two for meals and one reserved specifically for desserts, so I think I’ll be alright.” Hopefully. There was also the off-chance that he could end up the one getting sick, but Jackson liked to have confidence before a competition.

“I’m Jackson, by the way,” he offered, trying to continue the friendly conversation. Jackson didn’t like things to stay quiet for too long, even if his only conversation partners were girls like these.

Harmony didn't appreciate being ignored. Though there wasn't much about the human population that she did appreciate. So the other girl never really stood much of a chance.

"Gross. Do not throw up," Harmony warned. Just the thought of watching some idiot spew chunks was making her stomach a little queezy. Really. Did they have to talk about puking right now. Maybe it was some sort of plan. Harmony eyed up the boy and girl, wondering if either of them looked smart enough to pull off that kind of thinking-ahead move.

But if they boy was bragging about extra stomach he didn't seem all that smart. Unless that was an ability she had, Harmony was pretty sure that was impossible. "What are you, some sort of cow?"

The food was finally here and it was a little weird. Harmony had know this was some sort of interesting restaurant, but she'd survived her mother's hippie cooking and figured she could survive some other gross grub if it meant a prize in the end.

"Good luck making it to dessert suckers!" she said as she started stuffing her face.
