This day was going to be full of surprises! In the previous week or so, Nina had just stood in her graduation ceremony, taking her big step from high school to college. The goodbyes to all of the people she'd known and held so dearly was bittersweet as she knew that their schedules wouldn't be quite in sync as they go their separate careers. However, there was one person that became almost a constant companion during this long ride. Lucas, through some amazing turn of events, became the closest, most dearest friends in the whole planet, and they weren't even in the same school during the complete duration of knowing each other.
It was possible that this was about to change, not that it really mattered, but Nina didn't want to worry about that today. No, today was all about Lucas and herself as they take the whole day all for themselves. Of course, she was certain that she'd have a lot of those, but not only was this the first of many, but it was a special one. They would spend the entire day doing stuff together as apposed to one meal. In the end, Lucas promised her a really neat surprise. Nina was so excited she was shaking. He said that he knew she was going to love the surprise, and that it would bring their relationship to a whole new level.
As she walked up the sidewalk from his car, Nina waved at her boyfriend in a childish, eager manner. "C'mon!" she called out excitedly. "We might miss their breakfast if we don't hurry." Nina woke up extra early that day and was less than patient with Lucas. She wasn't harsh or anything, but she did become more and more uncontrollable as each moment passed. Finally, when they were both ready to go, she pretty much dragged him out the door without another word.
Now that they were actually entering the building, she was much less unreasonable than before, but she was still a little too eager. The place didn't seem super packed at the time, but they were still required to wait as they set their table for two. It wouldn't turn out to be too long of a wait, especially for two youths who were so blissfully in love. Even after all of this time dating the casanova, Nina still had an innocent outlook on romance, even though his idea wasn't quite as innocent as hers. "Hey, are you hungry, Luke?" she asked keeping a tender hold on his warm hand. "I'm starving!"
