Calling all members! We need your nominations for the Of The Month awards! Have you seen an awesome character lurking the forums? How about a thread you just can’t stop reading? Or a journal you keep coming back to? Nominate it here! We’re looking for nominations for all categories:

Character of the Month – Straightforward. Nominate the character you think deserves it for this month. Who was awesome? Who did something significant? As of now, Faraday's, Lux's, Maggie's, Sydnee's, Elsinore's, Abe's, Doro's, and Cat's characters are all off limits, as they’ve won in the past eight months.

Member of the Month – Again, pretty easy, right? Toss up the name of your favorite member. Remember, Pam, Lurker, Izy, Emily, Splatt, Abe, Etch, and Eva are off-limits for nominations. So is everyone on staff.

Relationship of the Month – Anything goes here! Friends, romance, enemies, anything! You cannot nominate:

Journal of the Month – We will not be nominating for Journal OTM this month. All eligible journals will be included in the poll in four days. Eligible journals were posted in during the past month and have not won in the past eight months.

Event Thread of the Month – All Time Warp threads that were started after the last round of OTMs are eligible (which is to say all Time Warps from August.)

Reasons: Roommate bonding over stargazing! Except, Serena doesn't realize they are roommates at first.

Reasons: Okay I am totally breaking my "don't nominate things with Sean bc of obvious bias" self-imposed rule here but I really enjoy their mentor/mentoree relationship, especially since Marnie screwed up with the underage drinking and is now a little shyer than she really should be.

Reasons: Two reasons. One, Nova took editing and staff's busy schedule graciously and two, Nova has taken great initiative with posting and plotting with other members. This is exactly the sort of attitude that I like to see in a new member of the community, and I hope to see Nova stick around and help integrate yet more new people in a heart-warming RP circle of life

Reasons: because HAVE YOU READ KELLY AND FARADAY'S WRITING. they both have an impressive ability to set a scene, and then this thread in particular just really hits multiple emotional levels they are just fabulous and this should be acknowledged

Reasons: Even if she's not in the cbox as often as others, Kelly is a great person to go to for plots, as she is always open to plotting with members new and old. Not to mention her writing is pretty damn phenomenal - she's one of the few people whose threads I actually enjoy reading even if I'm not involved, because I'm an incredibly picky person. And she's just a great, intelligent, lovely person in general c:

Nomination: Osiris Jackson
Reasons: Despite seeming like your typical good boy and teacher's pet, Jackson has a rough, spiteful character underneath his sweet exterior and has a surprising about of anger and judgment. I like these sorts of more complicated characters, and Pheli is great at writing him well. It's interesting to see more of what he's truly like more recently after his Grams died, and I'm looking forward to seeing how he grows as a character.

Nomination: Oriel Vanguard and Gryphon Matsuoka (Frenemies?)
Reasons: I will never not love these two, because their relationship is way more complex than it should be. Some days they vent to each other and seem very buddy-buddy, other days they hate each other's guts. It's fun to see a relationship that is so tumultuous and unpredictable.

Reasons: Because how could I not? Lucy is sort of a staple here at Hammel and for good reason. She's a character I've been following for awhile and have been lucky enough to thread with on numerous occasions. She's brash, and very unafraid of keeping it real. On the flip side, she is also unwaveringly loyal to her friends and always willing to help her friends out. She's got depth, and one of the best written characters I've ever rp'd with.

Nomination: Percival Quinn and Penelope Blaise - Trainer and Trainee
Reasons: They have such an interesting dynamic. It's rare that you see a trainer and trainee who struggle to get along with each other and I love that Eddie and Sai are exploring that.

Reasons: To go along with my relationship nomination, here's the thread proof that you should follow along with their threads. I can't wait for the thread to get going and see what will happen next between Percival and Penelope in this meeting.

Reasons: I don't think words will ever properly express how much I love the relationship between Lucy and Penelope. Eddie and Sai are just fantastic writers and I'm a huge fan of everything they do. It's clear they've been writing together for awhile and it makes for some fantastic threads to follow along with.

Reasons: I’m excited to have Raven back on Hammel. I absolutely adore her characters and her writing, and the plots we have are ones that I thoroughly enjoy. She’s easy to talk to and plot with as well, so I highly recommend hitting her up. xP

Reasons: I really love Michelle and Deb writes her beautifully. She’s quiet and likes to stay out of the lime-light, like a true shy introvert, but she’s also one of the sweetest and friendliest girls you’ll ever meet. Plus friendship bracelets. I remember making those in high school myself, and I love that she does it as her primary hobby. XD

Nomination: Kimi Tachibana and Margery “Bunny” Bonnevile - Besties
Reasons: So I’m a fangirl of Apple and Pollo’s ships, and I’m not gonna be stopping that anytime soon. BUT THESE TWO. Bunny can chatter on and on and on about this boy and that boy and ‘omg he touched my hand and said my name’ and Kimi is simply ‘smile and nod, smile and nod, that’s wonderful Bunny’. Kimi is so patient with her friend and I think she legitimately enjoys hearing these stories and seeing Bunny so happy. But just because she’s chatty, doesn’t mean she doesn’t care immensely for Kimi, though her way of caring seems to be trying to find the shy Japanese girl a boy to squee over herself. Much adorbs. <3

Reasons: So this thread is the reason why I adore these two girls. It’s a thread of classic girl talk between two young teenage girls. They start out taking about boys, make-up, dresses, boys, Kimi’s shyness, boys, all while their making circlets of flowers, then out of nowhere, Bunny runs off, leaving Kimi behind and awkward around a Korean cutie. Oh yeah, and neither Kimi nor Jiyong speak English well, so fun times trying to communicate!

Reasons: Nova has been fleshing Serena out since first introducing her on the board, and I'm curious to see how she develops as time goes on.

Nomination: Benji
Reasons: Benji is someone that I would nominate for Posterboy for New Members, if such a category existed. Even before his character was accepted, he began making connections with other players, and he hit the ground running as soon as Trevor was accepted. Benji makes open threads. Benji throws Trevor into open threads. Benji plots with as many people as possible and posts quickly. And he's so very friendly, always popping into the C-Box to say hello, even if he won't be online for long.

Nomination: Gregory Strickland and Stefan Spencer - Alcoholism Buddies
Reasons: I have particular fondness for Greg as he was my request, and Stefan is a fantastic character, even if I wouldn't want to spend much time with him in life. The two of them are struggling to move forward with their lives, and their friendship fills a need in both men's lives, even if it has the potential to create more problems. Their friendship is real, the type of relationship that manifests between two lonely people.

Reasons: Is there anything that lends itself better to sobering discussions than jogs at an hour most teenagers would rather still be asleep if given the opportunity? I don't believe so. In this thread, Sydney and Trevor are having a serious and somewhat awkward discussion about how Sydney is adjusting to college, despite being too young in terms of the traditional age progression. I don't miss this phase of life.

Reasons: Three years ago, two young psychics struggled with their powers and bonded over it. I'm sure that neither Deb nor Ophelia had me in mind when they conceived of this thread, or as they write it, but it's the perfect setting and topic for me to enjoy as a reader.
