The past six hours had been some of the busiest that Serena had experienced in quite awhile. It was a Monday, so as usual, she was sick of schoolwork for the day. She didn't hate school, in fact she'd say she liked it. But Mondays just never worked for her.
But unlike back at Kocher, she hadn't really found people she could blow off steam with yet. For a turbo-battery like Serena, she couldn't take it any longer. She was gonna dress up and go out. Somewhere, not sure where. But out.
And that is why she was now walking out to the school pond as the sun was setting, dressed in her favorite brown short-sleeved jacket over a fairly covering white tank top (the jacket and top leaving her mid-section and arms below the jacket sleeves exposed, but that was about all), tight black jeans, and her brown boots.
She had worn her contacts today, so she didn't bother taking them out. In her urge to emulate her times out back at Kocher, she had even applied makeup and actually wore small earrings and her only necklace (a simple silver band with small sapphire stone; a gift from her father) because when she wanted to go out, she wanted to look her best.
She found one of the rocks around the pond and leaned against it. Some of her very smooth and well-brushed hair fell against the rock, curving against it and moving back toward her body. Though it wasn't the coolest night, the gentle breeze and the closeness to the water made it feel that way. She didn't care all that much for the water, but for once, she was actually calmed by the fish instead of frightened by them.
Serena found herself wondering if any of the fish were new, one cute little fish alone in a big unknown pond...
