Power Swap: Impastable! (OPEN)

Justin didn't often eat out for dinner. Usually he retired to his place and had a simple meal that didn't require much effort. He didn't see the point in spending money on something fancy when he could fry up a steak or burger at home. It wasn't like he had anyone to impress these days anyway. He went out much more for lunch, usually grabbing a quick bite between cases now and then. 

But he'd decided to go out tonight since he needed to go food shopping. Even more surprising, he'd passed up his usual mostly meat choice for something a bit different. Fettuccine Alfredo. Because the only thing Justin loved as much as meat was cheese. 

He was about to take a bit of his dish, when the noodle jumped off his fork. Taking a deep breath, Justin tried to convince himself that it had only slide off and he again stabbed the noodle and attempted to get it into his mouth.

And again, the noodle jumped right off his fork. 

"Alright, you've had your fun!" he said, loudly, addressing the tables around him. "Who's the telekinetic freak messing with my meal?" Usually Justin wasn't so loud about his views, but really this was too much. He couldn't even eat a meal in peace in this town anymore.

Sean also preferred to eat in than to go out, at least on weekdays, much of the time. He and Josh each kept long hours at their respective jobs, which meant that he prioritized time home with his partner after a full day at Hammel. Moreover, he liked to cook, and sometimes he cooked on the weekends so that he could cut down on the preparation time during the week. Sometimes, they ate takeout, but with Josh’s dietary restrictions as a result of his hypertension, it was better to eat home cooking, since Sean used low-sodium, low-fat recipes, and he tried to cram as many vegetables into their meals without making them intolerable.

But they also had the disposable income to allow them to eat out, and the psychiatrist enjoyed eating at restaurants and trying new foods. He liked going to the diner at the edge of town, so much so that he was one of their most loyal customers.

And, since losing his telepathy the other day, he hadn’t had the heart to cook. Josh, concerned for him, didn’t object to his suggestions that they get takeout rather than cook at home. And, today, he had volunteered to pick up their supper on his way home from Hammel, which brought him to Honest Abe’s. He had been standing in line to order, when he heard someone shout. “Who’s the telekinetic freak messing with my meal?”

Steeling himself, he turned around, casting about for the person who had said that.

He saw Justin Wright staring daggers at everyone else in the restaurant.

Sighing, he called out, “You should never call someone that.”
