 This world is shit, and so is everyone in it. Why should I try so hard anymore? Deviant 18 - April 23, 1997 Pansexual Ink Manifestation | Spawned out of the hell that is the foster system, Oriel is a verbally abusive asshole to all who dare speak to him, one who takes sadistic pleasure in how much distress cause in his victims. Ignore him, and he’ll eventually go away. Toss out a few insults of your own, and earn a gold star in this brat’s book of friendship, or as he calls it, the Evil Overlord’s Tome of Minions. Those who manage to sneak past his defenses find a moody, sensitive boy who cares of those closest to him, though not without some good-natured teasing. He is one who is also unhealthily possessive and protective of his friends and lovers, being more than willing to lash out and pummel any who dare to mistreat them. Oriel’s gone through many changes over the past few years, ever since his anger and impulsiveness became too far out of control, causing him to finally seek therapy and get his issues addressed. While he does much better these days, it’s still an ongoing struggle. He still lashes out on occasion, though Oriel has also been trying to make amends with those he’s wronged in the past. His next goal is managing the trials of getting into college and this mysterious concept of ‘adulthood’.  I’m slowly breaking down. What am I supposed to do? Suck up 17 - September 28, 1998 Homosexual Telekinesis | Jackson(don't call him Osiris) is one of the good boys who’s up and ready at the drop of a hat to help someone in need, anything from running random errands, to cleaning up a mess, to even doing their homework for them. An altruistic person maybe? No, Jackson just wants people to like him, and is the sort willing to put up with and do anything it takes to accomplish this. If he can get a person to smile, then Jackson considers his mission accomplished. Even better if they say 'thank you'. Jackson lives for appreciation. He's a little bit dumb, however, and naive, and may say ignorant things once in awhile, which can range from an unintended compliment to an unintended insult. While he does well enough in school and in very sociable, Jackson is still very much trying to discover who he is and what exactly he wants out of life, with much of what he’s been finding being in direct conflict with the values he was raised with. He acts out on occasion, because underneath all that apparent ‘good boy’ lies a very bitter, dishonest kid who is very spiteful over the hand he’s been dealt in life. The recent death of his grandmother has been a particularly heavy blow on his mental state and he’s been spiraling slowly ever since. The strain has become so heavy recently that he wonders why he works so hard and who is he trying to impress? Because it sure isn’t for himself.  Takoyaki... Martial Artist 16 - March 1, 1999 Homosexual Super speed | Naozumi is a child who means well, he's very direct, and doesn't blink in the face of confrontation. He is also an airhead. It takes him a minute or two to understand what's going on in people around him. He might not get social cues right away and spends a lot of time thinking and analyzing a situation before finalizing on a course of action. Nao has a very small and subtle range of facial expressions, leaving him with a very vacant look most of the time. Therefore, anyone who can coax out anything more than that, like a full bodied smile, must be very close and important to him. However, as one who was often teased and bullied as a young child for his pretty face and spacy nature, Naozumi doesn’t take too well to bullying, especially when he sees it against other students. He is tough enough to take that kind of abuse himself, but will not tolerate it against his friends. This is the primary reason why he started learning martial arts, so he could fight back when he needed to. Just saying, however, he will never strike first in a fight, but he will definitely strike last, and make sure it stays that way. Due to his past bullying, Naozumi has developed many insecurities regarding his sexuality, and it’s only been recently that he’s started to address them and start to work past them. He’s been able to relax a lot more lately as well, such that it’s not impossible to know what he’s thinking/feeling. He’s still pretty dense when it comes to understanding and associating with people, unfortunately.  Try smiling! It always works for me! Dreamer 15 - March 25, 2000 Straight Butterfly Control | Aerina is a bubbly girl from the complete opposite side of the globe. She’s loves a good conversation, loves friends, loves butterflies...there’s little out there that she doesn’t love, actually. Back in India, she completed her high school credits by the time she was 15, and so transferred to the American meta-school for 1. the experience, and 2. so she could continue her education at university(she’s too young to enter university in India), and is therefore duel-enrolled at both Hammel and the University of Vermont. Aerina(or just Rina) takes her studies very seriously, and while she loves people and being around them and engaging in all the happy-fun-times, she is also very strict with herself and refuses to let her social life interfere with her need to succeed. However, despite always saying she ‘has no time for boys’, Aerina does have a tendency to get starry-eyed at a handsome fellow, especially the older boys which she prefers over those her own age. Back in India, Aerina lived a very strict and rigid lifestyle, so while she is in America, she has every intention of ‘going wild’ and living it up, doing everything she couldn’t get away with back home. Because once she goes back home, it’s the married life for her with the candidate of her parent’s choosing.  I’ve been screaming on the inside and I know you feel the pain Can you hear me? Bibliophile 17 - October 29, 1998 Asexual/Homoromantic Telepathy | Mei suffers from moderate social anxiety which often keeps her from opening her mouth to speak in the face of new and uncomfortable social situation, such as meeting new people and interacting with large groups of people. Actually, even if she’s not interacting with them, Mei can become overwhelmed due to her telepathic ability picking up on so many surface thoughts at once. Her power is a curse in this way, but also a blessing in that it allows her to communicate easier rather than having to depend on a stuttering tongue and words that simply won’t be voiced. Due to her extremely reserved nature, combined with her gothic appearance, Mei can be difficult to approach and befriend. Most of her friends are those she interacts with through the internet, from phone messages, emails, and BBS communities. Mei likes reading, with an affinity for classical science fiction and fantasy, and a very strong like for horror. When around those she is comfortable with, Mei can be quite sweet and playful, and very sharp in her words(or thoughts). She loves to tease her friends(and bully others online). Be careful to not get on her bad side, however, because Mei can also be incredibly spiteful and will hold a grudge against those who wronged her for a lifetime.  ‘Murica! Old Perv 64 - Feb 15, 1951 Straight Non-powered | Victor is the Police Captain for the Pilot Ridge area, and is the boss that wants to be your friend~ He’s a bit silly, and narcissistic, but with a good heart and always the best intentions. As a Vietnam Veteran, Victor has experienced both the beautiful and the ugly side of humanity, and can confidently say that no one person is wholly good or wholly bad. Rather than putting people away and throwing away the key, he’d rather try and change of criminals. Sometimes, he’ll say, they just want there to be someone who won’t give up on them. Victor is not a naive idealist, however. He’s seen even the goodest people do a complete 180 when put in the right(or wrong) circumstances. Nobody knows just what they’re capable of until they’re faced with a particular situation. As such, it is very difficult to become an outright enemy of Victor. He is friendly and sociable with most everyone, though he does understand why many non-meta humans would be wary(he is himself) or even outright fearful of those in the meta community. While he wishes the two groups could just live in peace, he has no choice but to acknowledge the growing tensions between the two communities, a tension that he intends to keep a very careful watch over. Victor has been divorced for several years and is estranged with his daughter, a fact he intends to rectify when given the opportunity. While his prime is already long past and isn’t likely to find love again, Victor is interested in companionship in the form of friends or casual dates. DongSung “Danny” Kim [x]
 Fascinating. Emotionally Dumb 20 - August 30, 1995 Pansexual Super Intelligence | Danny is an easy guy to get along with, once you get past how superficial and awkward many of his mannerisms seem. It isn’t intentional, Danny just struggles with casual social interaction. He excels the most in debates and discussions concerning concrete topics, such as science or the history of Portugal. Things he can bring fact and intellectual thought into. Small talk, innuendos, and jokes in general are outside his realm of understanding, though he does try to emulate that sort of behavior(and usually fails painfully). Danny likes taking care of people, specifically his loved ones, but that might also be why he does so well in the service industry, working three different jobs in order to support himself, his little sister, and his mother who is ill back in New York. He works hard, and always puts 100% into everything he does. During his down times, however, he will often find himself enjoying a casual television program, cooking a hearty meal, lifting weights at the gym, or simply sitting at home, getting lost in memories of better days. Danny doesn’t think it’s healthy for him to only be working or isolating himself, so he goes out often on dates with random people he meets around town or at his job, either for general companionship or even a one-night-stand in some cases. Danny refuses to get attached into a relationship at this stage in his life, saying he has many other things he needs to focus on. Also it would be unfair to whomever became his ‘partner’ as he would be both physically and emotionally unavailable most of the time.  You’re all idiots. Ignorant Rich Boy 17 - March 18, 1998 Unsure Visible Aura | Gene is a naive, spoiled brat who will not hesitate to tell you exactly how stupid he thinks you are. Coming from a well-to-do family, he was brought up to think that, yes, he is a special snowflake and anyone who said otherwise was simply jealous. He is entitled, immature, and goddamn picky as fuck, among other things. Gene dislikes being around people, hence his intensely negative attitude towards them. He would much prefer going straight home and entertaining himself with comics, books, and other one-person activities. This makes becoming friends with him - or as he would call them, ‘non-boring acquaintances’ - incredibly difficult. He’s bound to make more enemies than friends with his attitude, and that’s just fine by him. Surprisingly, considering his attitude towards strangers, Gene can be quite warm, friendly, and playful with those he’s grown close to. These are very few, however, and mostly consist of his family who often encourage his spoiled nature. Getting that close takes more patience and resilience than most people have, unfortunately, so seeing the more compassionate, empathetic side to him is a rarity. It does exist though! If he ever finds someone he cares for deeply, they can expect to find a selfless, spontaneous, childishly happy and innocent individual. Good luck!  I’ll protect you. Trust me. Oblivious 15 - May 17, 2000 Heteroflexible? Plant Manipulation - Flowers | Fancy’s a very genuine sort of person. He’s not spectacular by any means in anything specific, but he’s perfectly fine with that. What matters is that he always does his best in earnest. That should more than make up for falling short in other areas. He’s a little bit oblivious, having the habit of letting things go straight over his head even when they’re staring him straight in the face. He likes to daydream, and imagine the world to be a lot more beautiful that it often is. He’s not blind to reality, just prefers to be optimistic. Though, while he may be sweet, his taste-buds have a severe aversion to pastries and candy, opting more for a salty and savory taste in his meals and snacks. Fancy deeply cares for his friends, though may keep them at a distance on account of his family being the terror of his life. He loves his family too, but wishes they were a little less...eccentric? Strange? Downright weird? That said, he’d do anything he could to protect them if they were ever to get in serious trouble...maybe. He has the feeling he’s more likely to have to protect everyone else from them instead. Like any potential girlfriend he might find.  Keep your head on your shoulders and you’ll be fine, I promise. Athletic Track Star 21 - January 5, 1995 Bisexual Non-powered | Sapphire(goes by her middle name, Noelle) is a rough sort of girl. A complete tomboy. And she doesn’t care who knows it, often taking it more as a compliment than anything else. She likes to think that she’s a very grounded person, who can take a situation and work through it rationally. She doesn’t get offended easily, at least not by silly things like political opinions or childish name calling. Sapphire does tend to get discouraged when she makes a severe social blunder, by being awkward or saying something offensive to someone else or just being overly physical with someone, but she tries to push those feelings aside, telling herself that it’s not important. This can make her seem incredibly insensitive, though that might also be because she grew up somewhat sheltered, so there’s a lot about living that she’s naive about. Sapphire is excited to be finally living away from home, and strives to do her absolute best in integrating herself in this new town and community, even if she has to strangle someone to do it!!  Just relax~ <3 Football Jock 14 - April 20, 1999 Bisexual Not Yet Manifested | Jared(goes by J.D. by his friends) is a young kid who has seen more parts of the United States by the time he hit high school than most people see in the whole of their whole lives. He’s not too happy about it, and wishes that he and his mom could just settle down somewhere finally so he can actually make some long lasting friends for once, and maybe even succeed more in school and football. Despite this, his mom is always pressuring him to do better anyway, encouraging him to grow up to become a politician so he can change the world to her tastes. Jared would much rather just play football and be a kid while he still can. Even though he gets sick of his mom’s antics often, her beliefs and values are still very integrated into him. Jared has a deep fear of meta-humans, having believed all the horror stories his mom has told him. Though he has realized he’s bisexual at this young age already, he hasn’t explored it and definitely won’t tell his mom, for fear of outright rejection, since he knows she doesn’t like gays either. Jared keeps a lot of his emotions to himself, masking them often with outlandish jokes, and senseless teasing. He’ll get mad if anyone tries to confront him or criticize him on his actions, which can result in him either holding a grudge, or taking excessive measures to try and change himself to conform. Jared hates this though, and it brings him a lot of stress and makes him much more emotional than he’d like to be.
