[Sunar Chugani]

"Joooooooooooordan!" Sunar shouted across the cafeteria at his friend. He clutched a plastic tray in both hands, piled high with steamed broccoli and cheese pizza. That had seemed a decent enough combination to Sunar, which would probably horrify his mother. She occasionally expressed concern that boarding school wouldn't feed the students healthily, and although her son assured her that they did...this was not her idea of a healthy lunch. 

It looked as if his friend had space near him for someone to sit, although that wouldn't have mattered too much; Sunar would have asked someone to move down a seat without a second thought. 


"Jordan Jordan Jordan! Is that seat taken?" He asked, but any politeness was undercut by the fact that he sat himself down anyway.

Jordan jolted violently out of his dozed state, his head-resting hand slamming the table, as he heard a familiar voice shout his name. Through sleep-blurred eyes, Jordan frowned and looked around. "SUNAR?" He yelled in an equally loud voice.

"No, it's not taken." He murmured as Sunar sat down anyway, stretching his arms behind his back until two loud cracks were heard. Jordan yawned and turned to look at Sunar, his hazel eyes still somewhat hazy. "I know you love me but, geez, stop chanting my name." He murmured again, a tiny bit of his sister's sass rolling into his voice.

Sunar prodded at his broccoli with the tines of his fork. Blander than he would have chosen had he more control over the situation, but school lunches weren't especially known for being individualized. 

He waved his half-bitten vegetable in Jordan's direction. "Did you do the homework for Creative Writing?" 

Although Sunar was much more interested in drawing and illustration than in writing he still enjoyed Mr. Taylor's class. This was in part because creative writing allowed him to indulge his sense of whimsy, and in part because Mr. Taylor was one of his favorite teachers -- patient, laid-back, and willing to talk outside of class if a student needed a little extra help.

Jordan struggled through his haze of sleep and into the realm of the awoken; wincing slightly at the assault on his senses. He turned to Sunar, staring at his broccoli before switching his gaze to his friend's face.

"Creative writing?" Jordan stretched his arms out behind him, the sudden rush of blood making him feel a lot more awake and he remembered the homework he had indeed completed. "Yeah, I couldn't think of anything so I slept with my sister." He yawned and looked around at the other hungry students before freezing, realizing what he just said.

"Nononono. I meant - I had a lucid dream and used my meta-ability to enter Iris' dreams." He pointed an accusing finger at Sunar before rubbing at his eyes and yawning again. His sister's dreams were always very... creative. Probably because she was insane - but it did help him write up a very interesting story featuring some sort of reverse sea-land world. "Siblings and sleep makes everything sound weird..." He groaned.

Sunar's eyes grew wide with alarm at Jordan's nonchalant reply. He loved Indukala, but the idea of having an intimate relationship with her made him feel queasy. Maybe it was different for multiples? 

Fortunately, however, his friend clarified before he could summon up the courage to ask. 

"Oh! That's useful. I wish I could see into other people's dreams. That has to be the best inspiration. Think of the illustrations I could make..." 

He sighed wistfully before picking up his pizza by the crust, the tip flopping down towards the tray pitifully. 

His own power was perfectly fine, but occasionally he looked at other people's powers and thought they sounded much more interesting. But he had a power, which was more than some people had. 

"Maybe we shouldn't talk about siblings and sleep too loudly," He conceded before taking a bite of his pizza.

Jordan smiled as Sunar spoke of inspiration. It was true; most dreams he entered, meaning to or otherwise, were usually always so vivid and colorful. However, sometimes they turned dark quite rapidly - like when Iris suffered a nightmare. Those, those got scary.

He chuckled at Sunar's last sentence before his friend took a bite out of the god's gift which is pizza. "Yeah, that's probably for the best."

The dream walker frowned in thought, rubbing one finger over another as he debated against himself. With a tired grunt, he decided. "What do you do when you have a nightmare Sunar? Or if your sibling has one?" Jordan asked, a tone of hesitance to his voice.

"My sister doesn't tell me when she has nightmares," Sunar informed his friend between mouthfuls of pizza. This was in part due to the fact that she lived on the other side of the country and when they talked on the phone that sort of thing simply didn't come up. 

"When I have a nightmare I try to listen to happy music after I wake up. I don't have them that often, though! Why, do you? Is it a side effect of your power? Maybe you should talk to the side effects specialist, or maybe one of the researchers. Or I don't know, even Doctor Neville." 

Which was to say, he really had no idea what to do with nightmares. But surely one of the adults did, that's what adults were for, wasn't it? To know all sorts of helpful answers. 

"Oh, what about Mr. Hayes? You could ask him. Doesn't he have the same power as you?" 

Sunar had heard other students discuss using the dorm monitor's powers to help with their sleep, but he had no personal experience there.
