The Basics
Never really inspired to, Dave hasn't ever cared much about anything. He's a coast-through-life kind of guy and it worked just fine for the first 18 years or so. However, when growing up became an expectation he tried the typical low-maintenance, average office cubicle, 9-5 life and found himself drowning in the monotony.

Seeking an escape, Dave took to the road. There he found the freedom that only an unrestrained nomad could know. But it didn't last. When his father died, Dave returned to Pilot Ridge to take care of his mom, do right by his dad, and take care of the family business. Only now he's tied down, trapped, and not sure how to find his way through the complex mixture of wants and needs.



Relationships
Family:
- Debbie Marie Reed, Dave's mother whom he loves dearly and sacrifice nearly anything for.

Friends:
- FI, short for "Friendly Intelligent Navigation Device," she an old GPS device Dave has modified more than any other electronic. Through this, she has become Dave's one, true best friend.

Coworkers:
- Alice, the auto shop manager
- Jeff, the auto shop mechanic

Enemies:
- None that Dave is aware of, though he's usually too nonchalant to cause or develop any issues with anyone.

Romantic: (Currently Single)
- An ex-girlfriend from 3 years previously. They got along quite well and could have had a good future, but due to Dave's unhappiness with his life, he broke up with quite suddenly and left town.

Hiiiiiii!

Okay, so I have Layla who is very very new (like just accepted yesterday new xD). Anyway, she's an English teacher at Hammel and grew up in Pilot Ridge. She's super friendly and happy almost all the time, so I think it'd be interesting to see how they mesh. They're also almost the same age, so they would probably at least know of each other from their time as Hammel students. Here's her app and plotter if you want to check it out!

Alternatively, I also have Lip who is a few years younger and kind of an asshole. xD

Hi SemiSigh. I'm Doro. I think Caleb would be the person who cross paths with Dave. Caleb is the same age as Dave, so they must of gone to Hammel together.

Hi Layla! I'm sure they would have run into each other a time or two throughout their years at Hammel. Dave's not much of a socialite, but I could see them having got along in limited interactions, with Dave just not sticking around for more than a "oh hey, hi," despite maybe thinking she was cute and interesting. So I'm thinking probably no real long-term connection? Unless by chance she'd sort of just cheerfully accepted his detachment and been chill about it? It would definitely be cool to see how they mesh now.

Lip sounds fun as well, just to have them run into each other. I find it cool that he's a business major with no real plans. That could go very interestingly.

I'd be totally open to just tossing the characters in a thread and seeing what happens!

Doro - I might be reading into this in an odd way, but I almost want to see if Caleb and Dave could be friends from their time in school together. I'm not sure how Dave would feel about all the hugging, but it'd be good for him to have a friend like that. Not to mention it might be really fun to mix their personalities with each other.

Yes, having a friend from Hammel would be awesome. The two personalities would be great together. Caleb would need some friends to tell him to back off he is in their personal space bubble.

Any ideas for a thread? Or does one of us just want to start something and let the thread go where ever?

Hi Doro! No worries, I've been moving kind of slow myself.

Friends - perfect! I can't say I have thread ideas, but I'm more about winging things than planning them out ahead of time. Dave sort of stopped socializing and then left town after school, but he's been back for a year or so. I'd like to think they've hung out a time or two since then? We could also just start a thread and have it go anywhere.
