APPLICATION • Oh hello everyone! Meet the music teacher, Emrys Jones. Why yes, that is a chocolate lab that he's toting around with him. Why you ask? Well, Emrys is blind and has been since he was about twelve years old. Em is originally from Virginia and came to Hammel when he was fourteen. He left the school when he was nineteen, then went to get his teaching degree and came back to teach music. Emrys can play eight different instruments, but his love truly lies with the saxophone. He has a chocolate lab named Tequila that you will almost always see with him, unless he's braving the day with just his walking stick. Em is a very nice, laid back kind of guy who loves talking to people and making friends. Yes, he really does want to meet you! He's a good friend and has the good habit of listening more than speaking, so feel free to pour your frustrations or concerns out. He's a goof and can be rather silly and playful sometimes. He's a feel good kind of guy. Of course, like everyone else, he can get into a mood, but that just usually results in him being kind of quiet and broody. He can get rather testy and ticked if someone seems to think that him being blind causes some kind of hindrance and will get rather snappy in those cases. Most of the time he's a rather chilled out man. But! He needs everything and everything, so plot away please!

Hey!

I have two characters here that might know yours.

Gwen: 32, She's also a Music teacher at Hammel. She just moved back there from Seattle and she's trying to get everything working as a single mother now. She's doing just great with it and she's generally cheerful if not a bit hassled by everything she has to do. Gwen is not a meta but she does have perfect pitch and she is a gifted Piano player.

And the other...

Yulia: She's a powers trainer at Hammel and former highly trained Russian military operative. After a rather traumatic explosion she was finally discharged from the military and came to Hammel to work. She doesn't do well when she isn't working, as all she'll do then is sleep and smoke. She's a sweetheart but kind of stiff in the sense that while she has a great grasp on english it takes a while for her to process and translate and reply. Mostly she's going through the very fun process of Americanization.

Dylan and Emrys

Well finally, a nice, chill guy on campus. Too bad he's a prof, but maybe, despite her lack of skill in musical instruments other than the marimba and uke, which are hardly ever offered in a school band, she can find a special place for him in her soul. He's probably the teacher she actually didn't give a hard time to last year, and the only one, at that. She might want to vent to him about life stuffs when others aren't around, when and if she has enough 'drama' to do so. Otherwise, she'll definitely appreciate him and consider him a cool guy.

Gwen I think Emrys would like her and if she needed any help with anything he'd be right there to help her with it. Not to mention he adores kids. They should get together with their music or whatever and become friends =)

Yulia Ooo, hi Yulia! You and Emrys should know each other, kay? I feel like fail with these replies, but I think he'd like her. We should thread them and see what happens!

Dylan She's more than welcome to come vent to him. I think they'd get along rather well, and he'll be interested in her musical knowledge since he doesn't know how to play those.

Ant & Emmy

Well we talked about these two.. Friends, at minimal. They've known each other for years (since Emmy's first day). We all know Ant's a dog and likes to chase things so Emmy's his new chewtoy? He's probably going to be the guy who sees Emmy braving the stick, see and opening, and jump him yelling 'hey emmmmmy'. It's hard to tell but I think ant actually likes the blind guy more then he's letting on. Odd, I know!! Since Ant is tone-deaf and can not sing or play any musical instrument (god only know WHY he'd take music. >_>) prepare for A LOT of after class help?

Ant Bahaha, you know I love Ant already. Yes they're friendlies, and Em tries to avoid getting molested by Ant as much as possible. Though obviously it doesn't always work. I get the feeling Em hits him a lot unintentionally when he jumps him. First reaction and all. And does he now -raises eyebrows-. But! Em will try to help him with music, even though he's tone deaf. Cause he's a great guy like that and all. Fun fun fuuuuun times!

[Dr. Sean Neville]

Although he has never been a trainer, Sean keeps tabs on students with psychic powers. He would have been around when Emrys first came to Hammel and so he would have wanted to check in with how he was adjusting. I think that would be a backdrop for any current interactions they have.

Also, Sean would be banned from the music wing because of his bad singing. Since Emrys is a music teacher and because he's blind, I think he would be all the more sensitive to Sean's bad singing voice; this is something to be laughed at.

Sean I could see Em having probably come to him a lot in the beginning of coming to Hammel because he would have had a lot of difficulty at first I think. And Em doesn't know whether to cringe at that thought of his awful singing or to laugh. He might do both xD Cringe until it was over and then laugh later cause it really wouldn't be funny right then. As Sean likes to joke, he's the only person in Vermont who is banned from wassailing, because he's just that bad.

And I think it works that they would have had that relationship when Em had been a student, and then we can transform it into anything you want now that he's an adult and a faculty member himself.
