"The hell do you mean ticket?! I was just parking here for a couple of minutes to go pay my freakin' water bill you worthless pile of finger nail clippings!'

Someone wasn't happy. Oh, someone wasn't happy at all. Someone just got a ticket for parking in a parking space and not paying the tab to park there. The person simply ran out of coins to do so. One would think that, as a staff member of a school, this person could have afforded at least a quarter but said quarters was spent on a laundry bill at a laundry mat. Money didn't grow on trees and a ticket definitely didn't help the situation. The meter maid certainly wasn't hearing the excuses as the female officer began writing the paperwork for the three hundred plus dollar ticket. See, this person added insult to injury to also park in a handicap space on top of not paying the meter any money at all.

It was that Gideon girl again. Gosh, she always got into trouble. If it wasn't for Hammel and Tabitha Bishop bailing her out of her situations so often she might have been in jail forever already. Yet, she seemed to be lucky because, due to her worth to the school, it was worthy to get her out of her situations from time to time. But even the head staff at the school was beginning to grow weary of her situations. She had a temper that she simply refused to control. Fights, arguments, debates and simply nasty occurrences came out of this woman and there was no sign of such behavior and situations coming to a halt. She acted more like a troubled student than she did staff member. Some saw her as a bad influence.

More on the bad influence part her outfit definitely didn't help her image. By no means was she a sexual person but, goodness, she could have picked some better attire. She was a full gothic styled get up fit with black make up. There was a combination of black and gold riddled throughout her body. She wore a short black skirt with her natural black hair having gold streaks and highlights in it. The blouse she wore was golden with black knife emblems scattered across it. On the front of the shirt in golden lettering the words, "Fuck Men. Kill Women. Eat Babies" stuck out like a sore thumb. Her attire certainly didn't make the officer feel any sympathy for her.

Brilliance was given her ticket which she threw on the ground, spat upon and she followed those actions up with a middle finger to the officer. That alone might have gotten her arrested and really should have. But this meter maid was so used to these sorts of actions from people that she simply ignored it and moved along to allow Bri to sulk, be pissed and throw a bitch fit in front of people who stared at her while she was in her immaturity mode.

"Fucking asshole...leave it to a suit to want to ruin your god damn day!"

Her black Chevy Cobalt looked so nice but now was going to cost her a portion of her paycheck to keep from being impounded. She had to be careful unless she wanted an angry man to come out of her and start destroying things. That was why she had to take a few deep breaths and try to calm down.

Boredom always dove Corbin to stupidity, and today was no different. He had a rare day off, as in no pizza delivery, or bar work. And he knew that he should be dong doing productive things, like cleaning his flat, or shopping and what have you. But he wasn't be productive. Why? Because Corbin was being very lazy today. It was a vice of his, one he rather enjoyed. Though Lazy didn't included random walking. However, Corbin wanted to go a spend a ridiculous amount of money on needless things. Like DVD's, games, and some other trivial things. It was part his grand plan. Save money, but spend it at the same time. Unfortunately, he wasn't getting very far in the saving.

Corbin and his grand plan were walking down the street when they were distracted by some throwing a hissy fit. Grand plan forgotten, Corbin looked around to see a woman arguing with a parking officer. Oh fun. He too had had his fair share of pointless debating with people of the parking official kind, they never ended in his favor. No, he got fined. Always got fined. Sometimes extra if he was lucky.
As Corbin watched the woman throw down the ticket, he smirked a little. He loved watching a good cat fight. Unfortunately, the parking officer walked away. How... boring. Corbin hitched his backpack (yes, Corbin Jetty Baily, big on appearances, wore a backpack when he went shopping. Big deal) into a more comfortable position, and wandered over to the annoyed woman.

"You know, yelling at them only creates more trouble for yourself..." he said to the woman, while watching the ticket ghoul march away, "Well, usually anyway..." He turned to the woman, a mocking smile fixed firmly in place. He looked at her outfit, and his smile became even more pronounced. "Loving the outfit by the way, but the message is a little too... morbid, for my taste" Corbin didn't particularly like the goth look, but he respected people who wore such clothes for their guts. It must take guts to wear something so outrageously ostentanious.

"Oh, this? Mom brought it for me. She said it'd bring out the color of my eyes. Of course, the color of my eyes is hatred," she said, laughing behind it. That was clearly a joke. Her mother was dead. Then again, to her, everytime she did something outrageous or something that made people turn their heads and wonder what the flying rats was wrong with her she felt as if her mother had contributed. After all, without her mom Brilliance wouldn't exist so at least some part of her crazy personality had to come partially from her mother. If anyone knew her mom that would definitely be the case.

Her eyes didn't check out the person talking to her. No, she always had the habit of talking to people without providing direct eye contact. It was low self-esteem. It wasn't that she didn't respect people. This typical action had more to do with the fact that, in Brilliance's mind, people talking to her were not talking to her to try to be kind or just to make conversation. She always felt that if people talked to her it was out of pity and nothing else.

"But anywho, yeah, uh, who are you? Because you know it just isn't nice to talk to strangers. They could be crazy. How do you know I'm not a mass murderer who eats men because they taste of salty flesh and cheeseburgers? And how do you know that human flesh doesn't taste like cheeseburgers to me? Hmm? Thought of that? Nope, you didn't. It's the plague of society. Just walking up to random people and talking to them. Then they wonder how people get kidnapped, murdered and raped to only be thrown into ditches," she rambled.

If that statement didn't tell this man that something was definitely wrong with Brilliance's mind at some point it just isn't clear what else would be required. She had issues; serious issues. One of the only reasons why Hammel allowed her to work at the school was because she was non-violent towards staff and students and generally non-suicidal. That didn't mean that nobody kept tabs on this woman. Some saw her as a ticking time bomb. At any time, she could go on a rampage but Brilliance was simply misunderstood. She wasn't a complete psycho even though she had some mental issues. For the most part, not many people took the time to know the real Brilliance. She was a geek, anime lover, computer nerd and a loner. It's no wonder why she doesn't know what to say to people or what was appropriate to say to people. It wasn't as if she had a whole lot of experience in conversation. One would be lucky to get a paragraph out of her in a day's time. This man was fortunate to be getting as much talking out of her as he was.

She saw the backpack. "Alright, look, whatever you're selling I don't want it, don't need it, don't require it, and, sorry, no, I don't want to learn about the Lord Jesus Christ," she announced.

Corbin was thrown for a moment, and rendered temporally speechless. It was clear to say that he had never met a woman who claimed the color of her eyes was hatred. Finally, he mumbled something along the lines of "Um... ok... its... nice?" Not the best response by far, and he felt a little flustered, and looked around them for the sake to having something to do. Also a way of regaining his composer. He first though the woman to be a little daft for arguing with official people, now he thought maybe she was loosing it. Still, he started this, he had to be polite and finish.

"I'm willing to take the risk." Corbin replied, smile back on his face, meanwhile, he mind was rushing out of control. He were thinking things almost too fast to put into words. "But if it eases your mind, I'm Corbin Baily. I work at a Bar round the corner, and at 'Pizza Place' as a delivery boy. Is there anything else you would like to know?" she smirked and held out his hand for her to shake.

To say Corbin was confused by this woman would be an understatement, he hated not being able to tell what sort of person she was. She was however, clearly insane. He found himself wondering who she was exactly, and what she did. No sane person would employ her, yet he didn't see her as the unemployed type. His previous assessment were now in serious question. And he hated it. Totally hated it.

Blinking repeatedly like an idiot was not something Corbin was likely to do, However this woman already had him speechless, why not make him look like an idiot too? "I'm... not selling anything and frankly, I couldn't care less if you wanted Jesus in your life or not. Im shopping, or will be... anyway, regardless. I only came over here to be polite, so sorry, clearly I was mistaken." Though his words may seem a bit defensive, Corbin was by no means looking to fight with this woman. His tone was neutral, and he was smiling slightly. He was starting to seriously regret his decision to speak to the hissy fitting woman. It was all rather amusing however, and Corbin always tried to look on the bright side of things.

"I'm sure you don't understand the meaning of safe. You don't get that. It's fine. To me, your ability to be naive is very cute. At the same time it tells me a few things about you," Bri said while prancing around the man.

She'd prove that she didn't understand what it meant to overstep boundaries. Her hand didn't touch him but it did glide over the lengths of his body in the same fashion that a person would hold their hand out towards a camp fire to get some warmth. Her hand was pulled back but directly afterwards she sniffed his shirt as if she were trying to get his scent. Her hand yanked off a hanging thread off this shirt and she put the thread into her mouth. She wasn't hitting on the guy. In fact, she was in no way attracted to him. She just had this extremely creepy habit of keeping some trace of the people that she met because it made her feel like they were always with her. See, she didn't have friends due to the fact that people always ran from her because they thought she was out of her mind. So, Brilliance figured that if she kept something that belonged to that person she could talk to that belonging and it'd be the same as talking to the person she took said belonging from. A psychiatrist would have a field day with this woman or she'd make them quit because her mind was far too damaged to be help at this point.

"I like your hair. It's firmly connected to your head," she went on to say. How the hell else is hair supposed to be on someone's head? Her mind was so detached from reality to the point where she didn't even understand the most simplistic of things. The girl was damn genius and could create things that would wow most scientists. However, to get to the level of genius that she was at Brilliance had to remove herself from people, conversation and the meaning of being human just to be what she was this day; crazy but brilliant.

Bri would prove her other side. Her hand reached into her shirt and into her bra understand this shirt. She pulled out a small device that was cleverly disguised as flip open hand mirror. Once the device was opened up it'd be pretty clear that this was no ordinary mirror. Brilliance placed the piece of clothing onto the mirror and a computerized voice replied, "No sample found."

"Awww, no skin samples on this string. Gotta find something else. Stand still," she said. Brilliance turned the mirror towards the man's head and tried to wipe some of the sweat off of his forehead. If she could get that this device would decipher Corbin's DNA and tell Brilliance everything she had to know about him. This was apart of her research of deciphering what genes created the meta-human gene as she had some theories of her own apart from the widely believed theory of the Hammel Institution. She thought this man was human but she also thought that every human had the meta-human gene within them.

Naive was not something Corbin was called very often. He was slightly irritated to say the least, after all, he was very quick, and could easily outrun this woman. Hell, he could probably easily out run anyone in this town. His power after all was super-speed. He wasn't about to tell crazy-lady that however, so he just let her comment slide, and shrugged his shoulders. "And what does it tell you about me?"
Corbin didn't really expect an answer, she hadn't answered anything else he said. In fact she had blatantly ignored his introduction, though to be fair, Corbin didn't really care that much. Though it would be nice to know her name.

Corbin watched as he hand glided down his body, and though no physical connection was made, he flinched back a little. But before he got to say anything, she was sniffing his shirt. That right, sniffing his shirt stunned disbelief was not something Cor was used to either, but he was certainly feeling it then. Was this woman drunk or something. Who went round sniffing people? There was something seriously wrong with this woman... or maybe, maybe she was shape-shifter. Did shape-shifters take on aspects of their animal form, or what ever. Maybe she had shifted to a wolf, and still felt the need to sniff people. He just hoped she didn't try sniffing his behind. That would be slightly disturbing.

By the time she made her next move, Corbin was way beyond the feelings of shock, confusion, and surprised. He watched as she snatched a thread and put it in her mouth. Weirded out was not the way to describe how he felt. She commented on hos hair when she reached under her shirt; and Cor, ignoring said comment, started to lift his hand in a warding gesture. But she simply pulled something from under it. Oh! His girlfriend had one of those, it was a mirror thing.... or not. Corbin rubbed his eyes and blinked. Nope, the scene was the same. She had put the thread into the 'mirror thing', which then spoke to her.

Corbin became aware that she was speaking to him, and her words sent a shiver down her spine. He no longer thought she was funny. "Skin samples? Are you kidding me?!" Evidently, she was not, and Corbin beat a hasty retreat out of her reach. A very Hasty retreat. Within the blink of an eye, Corbin was six paces away from her, and staring at her in horror. She. Wanted. Skin. Samples.
"What the hell is your problem? Who are you?" A sick feeling had grown in his stomach, and he really wished it was the cheese sand which with extra cheese he had for lunch.

Brilliance's eyes went wide. That fast movement clearly wasn't human speed. She could've danced around like a crazy lady but decided that this man didn't need anymore reason to call the police on her. He was a meta-human. That was clear. Nobody could've moved that fast. It was impossible. One would have to be apart of the animal kingdom to achieve such a feat. Brilliance wasn't a slow person either. This was exciting. What he did only made her curiosity grow and now, if he thought she was creepy and pushy before he certainly didn't help the situation any. She'd only edge closer while holding her mouth open while a piece of drool left out of the left corner of her mouth due to her amazement.

"Must...have...SAMPLES! WOOOO! Yeah baby! They said Brilliance was crazy! They said ol' crazy girl couldn't find another one outside of the school with a power that isn't in high abundance. Oh, yeah, uh huh, go Bri girl, it's ya birthday! Go sci-fi gal, it's ya holiday! Uh huh, yeah, say wha'? Shut yo' mouth! What? I'm just talkin' about Bri!" She began dancing and shaking her hips while twirling around in place. People stared. Oh, the people stared. Behind Corbin and Brilliance was two people driving by who actually got into a car accident due to Brilliance distracting those drivers.

She stopped her display. It was time for business. "Now, baby cakes, you can give me that damn sample willingly OR I'll have to take it. What's it gonna be? You can comply or I'll just follow you home like a puppy. I'll be your shadow. I'll be in your nightmares. I'll be the zipper in your pants, the chicken in your sammich and I'll be the web of your world wide if you don't give me what I want. I'm doing this for the betterment of your kind. Now, come here you delicious lil' morsel!" she informed him and instructed. She wasn't kidding. Brilliance would just follow him, track him and try to find him until she got the sample she wanted. Nothing would stop her except for permanent injury or death. Once Brilliance got an obsession there just wasn't a whole lot of things in the world that would curve that obsession.

She didn't even realize that the things she was saying would have been creepy to just about anyone. But she had another habit of saying things that would come off the wrong way and would be entirely different from what she meant to say. "The string I got from your shirt shows that your skin is salty. Hmm...a little Accent pepper, perhaps some cinnamon, maybe a little vinegar for the heavy seasoning with just a tiny smidget touch of garlic and your skin will be just right," Bri said. Most would think that she wanted to eat Corbin and that she was a cannibal. No, all the things she mentioned from the cinnamon to the vinegar was just the lab tools she used to analyze DNA. Yes, it was unusual to use these products for such a procedure but not unusual in order to separate certain strains when it came to Brilliance creating a whole new element that could be used to find, analyze and identify meta-humans.

"Man, you're a little on the scrawny side. We'll have to fatten you up," she went on to say. Again, probably came out the wrong way. She was saying that she needed more than just sweat samples. She needed a healthy subject for analysis. Therefore, someone who looked healthy and had a decent amount of weight was probably better for testing.

To say Corbin wasn't frightened would be a lie, to say he was hiding his new found fear from the world, was also a lie. Corbin, was in fact, staring at the crazy person, with his mouth hanging open, and his poor eyes wide. It was as if he had been muted in mid-scream. A bit slow on the uptake, despite his powers, it took him a few long minuets to realize what a complete idiot he looked. He snapped his mouth shut, and narrowed his eyes at the woman. He still didn't know her name, and she was still banging on about sample's. That was just plain rude.

"Um, listen, Samples... yeah, I'd rather keep them to myself." His voice only quivered a tiny little bit, and Corbin refused to acknowledge that little fact. Instead, he lifted his head a little higher. "Look lady, I don't know who you are, or what you're talking about. But, I'm just gonna go out on a limb here, and suggest you go see a shrink. And I'll be going now." He nodded good bye to her, and took step back, before turning to carry on his way.

He didn't get very far. Poor Corbin was stopped by her threat of her following him home. (Not to mention the 'babycakes' who said 'babycakes' anyway?) He turned, while she was mid-lecture/threat, and tilted his head to one side. When she finished, he launched his own little speech
"Listen Honey, You are not getting any sample off me, I don't who you are, other then slightly insane, and a little frightening. One thing I do know however, is that I. Am. Not. Some. Experiment. Nor, will I help you and your crazy obsession with samples in way, shape, or form. I am going to go now, and if you do follow me, I may have to call the police. But then, lets not ignore the fact that I am a little faster then you, and you'd have trouble following me anywhere."

He speech finished Corbin hitched his backpack up again, and straightened his jacket. Once again her words stopped him. The words 'She's crazy' flashed through his mind again, but he didn't speak them, obviously she was deaf to them. Not only that, but pepper? Cinnamon? It sounded as though she wanted to eat him. Maybe the only way to be rid of her was to give her what she wanted. Unless of course she did want to eat him, in which case, he may need to call the police after all

Her next statement, had him looking at his stomach, and arms. Scrawny was not the way he would describe himself. He ate well enough. Maybe she needed a little meat to go with that pepper and cinnamon of hers. He'd seriously had enough of listening to her crazy words, but he really didn't want her following him. Maybe she wouldn't be able to keep up, but he didn't doubt that she would be able to pull up his address and things. He did not want this crazy, sample obsessed woman near any of his belongings or his home.
