Nykohl's morning had brightened infinitely when Emma had shown up in her office. She'd been in the middle of sorting the class schedules for the next semester when the door opened. Expecting some good-for-nothing brat who would be much more of a bother than they were worth, she lifted her head with pre-set glare set on her face, spitting out "What the hell do you want?" without a second thought. It was to her (pleasant) surprise that the intruder was none other than Emma and she back-pedaled. "I'm sorry." It was habit at this point to snap at whoever walked through her door and this wasn't the first time she'd snapped at the younger girl, but always felt guilty when she did.
Emma didn't linger, it was merely a quick visit to let Nykki know that she wanted to meet her for lunch by the pond. Effectively, what she'd done was give the receptionist something to look forward to that didn't involve verbally abusing the other students at Hammel. So, come 12:15, Nykohl had grabbed her purse and was heading out to the school grounds. It was a lovely day out, one that she could appreciate simply because it wasn't too hot and there was a nice breeze blowing just enough to ruffle the grass and pick up loose strands of Nykki's hair. She definitely needed this break.
As she neared the pond, the blonde realized that Emma wasn't there yet, so she took up residence on the bench near the pond and stared down at the fish swimming in lazy circles. Toeing off her ridiculously high heels, Nykki slid her feet across the grass. It felt nice being outside, but even better knowing that she'd soon have her favorite kind of company. Before Emma arrived, however, another student wandered down by the pond, but he didn't stay long. A simple glare and a "Get the hell away from there!" were all that was needed to send him scampering off like a good little boy. She didn't want anyone ruining her lunch date with Emma.
