Two Very Different Men...

[Ezekiel Benedict]

Ezekiel needs a purpose.
Friends he can certainly have, but close friends have never been something that he keeps due to his inability to empathise with people's problems.
Enemies are likely to crop up from his unswerving devotion to duty and cold, detached methods of problem-solving.
But like I say, most of all he needs an underlying purpose. Whether it be a task of rooting out the bad guys or guarding the good guys, he needs something that he can get his teeth into and ruffle some feathers with his single-minded pragmatism in aid of. Takers?

James is batty as a fruitcake. Self-medicating on near lethal doses of drug cocktails, nursing a steady alcoholism, and suffering from something remarkably similar to manic depression as a result of his power, he is all at once brilliant and yet mad.
Authority figures shall become exasperated with him exceedingly quickly, and are needed to try and coax some kind of productivity out of him.
James will also need people to help with his research into the history of meta-humanity. Being far too disenchanted and bone idle to do much of the footwork himself, he is most likely going to recruit some eager students to aid him in his work.
What with his underlying problems, a confidant/therapist/home truth-disher-outer mould is also needed to explore the deeper, and sometimes darker facets of James' personality.

Hello! ^_^

So... I have one character I would be interested in threading with Ezekiel. Mostly because his purpose and Cobalt's are incredibly similar. Both men are interested in social justice and doing the right thing and protecting others. Cobalt is a local, so it would be harder for the two to meet and interact, but he will be an ally to Ezekiel, should he need one.

John as a friend to either, I'm more inclined to say James just because they are both handling pretty intense side effects to their power, but seem to have taken polar opposite ways in handling it. He'd be a good one to work with in research though.

Not sure about Stella, and, well.... Anastasia is an evil... gal?

Sorry, I like both these characters a lot, just... not sure how they'd fit in just now.

I have one character to offer up, as friends to both men.

For James: Sean is a psychiatrist who also has a tendency to drown his sorrows in alcohol, although not to alcoholic levels. He works at Hammel and so he would be available as a sympathetic ear and to give advice, both because it's his job and because he likes doing so. He has a lot of spare time and so he and James could have long talk sessions.

For Ezekiel: If you want him involved in Team Good Guys, send me a message, but we would love to have him aboard. And since he's security, he'd have a professional relationship with Sean, who often acts as the school disciplinarian. Although he's technically a doctor, he isn't a needle and suture doctor.

[Karina Ford]

Karina is blunt, sarcastic and just rode into town - I think she and James could really get along, as they both seem to be in need of a friend or two. If he needs a confidant who won't run away if he goes crazy, Karina's definitely your girl.

I can definitely see Cobalt working with Ezekiel. Zeke has a history in the security services and body guarding, if Cobalt happened to need a man suited to getting his hands dirty? I can see some good natured arguments flaring at Ezekiel's overly pragmatic approach to problems. Ideas?

I think John and James could work out really well (and not just 'cos Richard Armitage is a complete dude!!). I can definitely see the chalk/cheese thing happening.

I can also see some kind of strange, complicated rivalry/nemesis thing between Ezekiel and Anastasia. If they were to face off, even if not properly fighting, then the fact that she can actually force emotions on people would be a really interesting concept when paired with the fact that Ezekiel currently doesn't feel any emotions. He could get a bit attached to the idea of being given emotions, no matter if they were negative, and deliberately seek her out. It would have to be thought out properly, but could be funky.

Sean I have PMed you already I think...

Karina and James sound quite interesting, did you have any ideas?

Yes, Armitage is amazing. SO. Very. Amazing. John and James are both new as well so maybe they could share a "dear god this place is insane" moment

And I LOVE your idea for Anastasia and Ezekiel. Just... ah, he should factor in the very large man Anastasia lives with who dislikes people going near her. Which makes it even MORE exciting!

Oh, your characters both sound lovely.

First, Josh and Zeke: Josh is one of Cobalt's partners in the pursuit of social justice! Unlike Zeke, he oozes emotion all over the place. He would find Zeke's aloofness rather odd and possibly distressing, but that wouldn't stop him from trying to be friends.

Second, Josh and James: Josh should probably not offer to go out drinking with an alcoholic, but he will anyway. Josh likes social activities and tends to ignore mundane details in his private life, but he takes his work very seriously and might have a few things to say about James' work ethic or lack thereof.
