Evgeny had gallstones.
They had been hurting him for a couple of days now. It sucked, but he was smart enough to know than when an abdominal pain stood for more than a couple of days without going away, a doctor had to be seen. And so, in Maddock Hospital, after all the silly paperwork an inmigrant has to do to get decent health service, he was examined by the on-call doctor who after the standard exams, determined that he had gallstones and was sent to the hepatologist the next day.
Before arriving to the hospital that morning, he did what any other scared person would do: he wiki'd what gallstones were and what caused them. He didn't understand much, though, but reading that it was non-lethal and he'd be pretty much fine by next week, he sighed in relief. He arrived early that day to the doctor's office announced his arrival to the person in charge and sat in the waiting room. Evgeny was really knew at this medical system, or any really. If he were back in Russia, he had already be treated by some biological manipulator rather than some doctor. The advantages of being in an all-metahuman military unit.
At least two hours passed when his name was called and Evgeny still had a smile in his face. He was not impatient and the military life taught him to how to keep his mind from getting irritated by inactivity or boredom... and it wasn't like he had anything else to do, anyway, but he did start considering buying either an iPod or a cellphone with music features to pass the time in the next occasion if it presented itself, there was really no reason to take things like a soldier now that he was a civilian.
Althought he had seen the name a couple of times in the paperwork Ev examined off the door's plaque once again as he entered the office: Dr. Terrance Jordan. He walked up to the desk, smile still in face even though the gallstones still hurt, the analgesics prescribed by the previous doctor hadn't been that strong, and stood there behind the chairs in front of the doctor's desk. It reminded him of meeting a high-rank in the military, he couldn't take a sit until he was asked and assumed things worked the same in these cases.
"Dr. Jordan?" He did take the liberty to speak without being asked, something he couldn't have done back then. "I'm, ehh, Ev. Nice to meet you?"
He wasn't sure of that last part, though, it wasn't nice to have gallstones.
