Today we're interviewing Ms. Victoire Lavergne. It's nice to have you hear today, Ms. Lavergne. So you're a student at the University of Vermont, right? What made you decide to apply there?
"Yup, I'm a student at the university. I guess it only made sense to apply there, really. I went to Hammel and it was kind of fun, being away from home and everything. And since I had already gone through all the Customs paperwork once already that wasn't so bad. Also, I suppose I was hoping to have some luck finding people to help me out with money and places to stay, but that hasn't turned out yet..."
And you're studying medicine. Are you focusing on any aspect in particular? What would you like to do with your degree once you graduate?
"I didn't apply straight out of high school, actually, so I am still in the early part of my degree, so I still have yet to decide what specialties I am going to go into, if any.* I honestly don't know what I want to do with my degree... Kind of want to make a ton of money to have fun with, which I could easily do here or back in Canada if I took an easy specialty, but I also kind of want to do that cheesy help-the-orphans thing. Working on a Mercy Ship would be AMAZING! You get to see a bunch of really interesting places while helping people. Or maybe I could be a doctor or something on a Disney cruise ship... That would be kinda cool. Oh wow... That was just a little geeky."
Oh. And y'know. A cure for that thing that makes my hands shake would be cool too. And yes, I know that probably will not happen.
Is there anywhere in particular you would like to perform your residency?
"Not really. Planet Earth would be a start I suppose."*
After you've finished your residency do you think you'll come back to Vermont?
"Maybe to visit people. But otherwise why would I want to go back to a place I already know?"
You also bartend, is that correct? Do you serve a lot of your peers, or are they too busy studying to party?
"Yup, I do. Starting to speed up for the strip- summer season. But really, are you an idiot? University students too busy to party? Maybe during exam week but otherwise the majority of them are out drinking like the normal 20-odd-yearolds. So yeah, I guess you could say my place is popular with the guys... And girls..." Victoire winks.
You have a couple of tattoos, do they have any particular meaning?
"One on my wrist is a reminder of my best friend's birthday, I actually forgot it one year and she did the same thing with mine so we both got tats of eachother's dates. And then there is a small solid star tat that I have on my right wrist, it was the first one I got, with a boyfriend. Promised to make a band with him but considering I haven't spoken with him in a couple years... Yeah, I pretty much got it because I thought he looked pretty badass with all of his tattoos. I definitely want to get some more, larger, tats though. Maybe we could get matching ones!" Victoire smirks and raises her brow at Chuck.
Your personal style really sets you apart from the crowd. Do you find people treat you differently? Do you have to nix the piercings when you're involved with patients?
"Sometimes. Cat-calls from idiots. Maybe a bit of jealousy from other girls, though my friends will compliment me. And I don't care what people think if they think badly of me so it works out. As for nixing the piercings... Not really. Usually I have to dull it down to studs for my ears but people can't exactly see my inny without me wearing something more revealing than work material. Kind of want to get a tongue piercing, heard they're rather enjoyable when I'm ah... Playing a tune."
Now, you're from Canada, is that right? Do you miss home?
"Eh. Its kind of true that Canadians are kinder. Sorry! But its reeeaaallly cold in Ottawa, a little worse than here in the winter, so yeah. Not missin' that so much! So I guess I'm saying that I kind of miss the people, but not the surroundings."
Was it an adjustment coming to the United States?
"Not really. Moving away from family was a relief but we have the same type of culture in Canada. Government kind of tells you how to do things so you can't screw yourself up too badly in Canada, or get rich too easily, though. Here it is more go ahead and do whatever you want, but all the results of your actions are your problems, not anybody else's. We have more Beliebers in Canada too. And nowhere near as cool TV shows. And restaurants are awesome here. Like, honestly, come to Canada and go to McD's. It fucking sucks compared to the US!"
Can you tell us a little about your family?
"Eh. Dad's an average dad I suppose. Spoils Cleo, my lil sis. Then there is Page, my older sister." Victoire becomes visibly discontent with this question, avoids any answer about her mother. "Next question"
Victoire's mother, Alison, is dead due to the progression of Huntington's. Her father has stayed in Ottawa, Victoire rarely speaks with him, and even more rarely visits. Victoire has lost track of Cleo recently, although previously she did attempt to keep up-to-date with her, as she feels bad for how she treated her younger sister, and wants to see her now that she is out of the house. Page is fairly alienated from the family, particularly from Victoire, as Victoire cannot bring herself to listen to Page for more than a couple minutes, as she finds her older sister too preacher-like.
You also are musically inclined I hear. Do you play any instruments?
"Electric guitar. I'm pretty skilled with it, if I may say so myself. I'm alright at the drums, learned what I know from a guy a few years ago. And I can play the piano decently, although I'm rusty. And of course I've tried out quite a few different instruments, bass, bongos, flute, pretty much anything I can get my hands on."
Who are your biggest musical influences?
"Me, myself and I. And my grade six music teacher, Mr. Robson. Oh god, I feel like I'm making an acceptance speech."
What made you decide to go into medicine instead of music?
"Music isn't too predictable. Even if I get to be a doctor, I could still try to make it in music anyway. Degrees don't mean anything in music."
Is it difficult to find time to practice between study and work?
"Well considering I do it as a pastime its not so bad, especially since I don't have anyone to do songs or anything with."
Do you have any other hobbies?
"SHOPPING! Heh... Practicing a couple bar tricks that I've seen... I also love soccer! Best sport in the world! Oh and I suppose there's... Body painting," Victoire smirks and looks up at the ceiling, face turning just a slight bit red.
You've been seen around town with former teacher Brendan James. And you're also friends with Hammel trainer Honor Sayers, right? Wasn't she in the same class as Brendan? Completely opposite personality, though. Would you say you easily get along with lots of different people or were the three of you friends at Hammel?
"Can't say if they were in the same class. I haven't exactly talked about those types of things with either of them. Brendan's kinda cute in a puppy-dog way. A really stupid, clumsy, puppy-dog that can't learn a single command. Honor is... Honor. Some people like her, some don't. Most don't. I find that I can get along with pretty much anyone, but it depends on how I meet them."
Do you live alone or do you have roommates? Or maybe a pet?
"I'm looking for roommates, or a cheaper place to rent. I have a pet, Hunter, my adorable husky."
So Victoire is an original character. How did you come up with her concept?
Can't recall really. I'll admit I usually just take a few traits from various characters I've seen/done before and mash them up to see what happens. I'll go months without an idea for a character then one will pop up out of the blue suddenly.
Does she have any traits you find yourself giving to a lot of characters? Or is she completely different?
I usually don't make prudes, quiet, or religious types, they're too boring to play, but otherwise I'd say she's fairly different.
What has been your favorite thread with her so far?
Out of the two here? Can't pick one since I like them both for vastly different reasons.
Do you have any goals or plans for her you would like to share?
Can't tell you until I've convinced the rp'er who referred me here to come back. I might try bringing in Page too, though that may be a complete dud when the two meet. And there are a couple other plans with her that are in motion that I shant say. Really, though, I'm just looking for some interesting open threads or such right now, so if anyone has an interest...
Excellent, then, if anyone has an interest in plotting with Theo, check out Victoire's profile and then PM her account. It looks like there's plenty of room for interesting plots here!
