((OOC this takes place the evening of Monday the 3rd))
The house always felt empty after a party.
Perhaps, then, it was fortunate that the Super Bowl always fell on a Sunday, allowing more socialization than if it occurred on, say, Saturday. At least he could return to work, gossip with those he'd hosted, discuss the results and the shenanigans, the ads and the referees calls.
But even Mondays had an end, and he found himself home, largely alone.
Sean was occupied, put visiting a friend, a fact that Josh couldn't begrudge his partner. Although hey were a couple they still had lives outside of one another; a simple change from their college days, but one with a huge impact.
Still, after hosting such a large party he felt very alone. He'd taken Mopsy out of her cage and placed her on his lap, then poked at some files for work, laptop settled beside him on a throw pillow. But he lacked any real motivation, and he eventually closed the computer with a sigh.
" I should eat," he informed Mopsy, although he made no move to get up. Maybe he could call one of his friends for a last minute dinner meeting? He began to catalog everyone he could think of, wondering who might be available, when the doorbell rang.
"I wonder who that could be?" He asked his rabbit, cradling her in his arms as he made his way toward the door. He hoped it wasn't solicitors, or the elderly neighbor having a crisis.
And when he opened the door it was, in fact, neither.
"Cee!"
His bemused expression matched his tone. Although he certainly wasn't adverse to the younger man's company, he had no idea why he was there.
He hoped it wasn't zombies again.
