SUE: See You in My Dreams (Carleigh and Monroe)

For Monroe and Carleigh, this might be an excellent time to train their powers a bit more.

Carleigh didn't train her power much.

She had been cycled through power trainers and mentors numerous times over her years spent at Hammel, and currently, didn't have one she visited regularly. Her free blocks that were suppose to be spent in the training rooms? The blonde usually used it to work out her body or take a nap. Sometimes do homework. It was incredibly difficult to train her power when it hardly even worked and was also hard to access. Carleigh didn't know how she qualified as a meta with such a precise and finite ability.

Nonetheless, the Californian girl was sitting in the training room, tiredly leaning against the wall on her cell phone. She hoped that someone would stop by and provide her with some company. It got rather lonely being all by herself.

She scrolled through Instagram with a bored expression on her face, not noticing that the lights around her were somewhat flickering.

Monroe rushed to the training room, cup of coffee in hand, knowing he was running late for his training session with Sora. The lights were flickering as he moved quickly down the hallway, purposefully throwing open the door ready to apologize to his trainer, but what he found instead, was a familiar blonde, sitting in the corner of the room, eyes glued to her cell phone. "Carleigh?" he questioned and just as he did, the room went black.

Well, Sora wasn't here. And the power was out. Great. He dug in his pocket for his cell phone.

Carleigh continued her absentminded scrolling, when suddenly, a familiar boy with dark, long hair entered the room. She looked up from her phone, smiling with a small wave sent in his direction. "Hey Monroe." She said casually, before the lights went out. Her face lit up from the bright screen, illuminating the frown on her face. Well, that wasn't fun.

Turning her phone, Carleigh shined it in his general vicinity. "That seemed really sudden." The blonde commented, as she had been unaware of the lights flickering beforehand. "Least you came in, would've sucked being alone."

Carleigh just got a hello and one of her bright smiles in before the room went black. He fished his phone from his pocket and pointed it back at her. With the slight stream of light, he moved towards her. "Yeah, it did. Wonder what's up." Truthfully, he wasn't too bothered by it. He actually liked the dark. It was the closest to sleep he got.

"Are you afraid of the dark or something?" he asked next, as he approached her.

Sitting upright, Carleigh used her phone to help guide Monroe to where she was. "Luckily I chose not to sit where the machines are." She joked, nodding before remembering that he probably couldn't see it in the dim room. "Maybe one of those power towers got knocked down in an accident." Carleigh shrugged. It had happened a few times back in California.

"Not afraid..." Carleigh paused to yawn. Now that the room was almost entirely darkened, it provided the perfect sleeping environment. The fatigued blonde rested her face in her hand, sighing. "Just not a fan of it. Or being alone."

Monroe shrugged as he finally reached Carleigh, guided by the light of both of their phones. "Thanks," he told her. "And it's possible, I guess. I wonder if it's just Hammel or the whole city though."

He sat down next to her in a chair he found and mimicked her yawn. "Man, don't start that," he warned her, half jokingly. Yawning was contagious. "Makes sense." He almost made some dumb joke about him being there to ward off any monsters, but found it lame and passed. "You can get a lot done when you're alone though." He was often alone. Usually all night.

"No problem!" Carleigh cheerfully mustered back, turning down the brightness on her phone to preserve the battery life. She had Monroe by her side now. Besides, the longest the power outage could last for would be a couple hours, right? "Hm, yeah. Who knows. I sort of figured we'd be immune to that sort of thing." Seemed sort of trivial, a power outage at a school full of metas.

Upon hearing Monroe yawn, Carleigh yawned again. It dissipated into a short fit of giggles before she quieted down. "Sorry, can't help it, I'm so tired." She apologized, rubbing around her eyes with the back of her hand. "But... don't you ever get tired of having so much alone time? The endless nights of nothingness?"
