I Don't Have a Library Card,

Stefan’s nephew was often telling him that he should try to date people who were closer to his own age bracket. Of course Stefan chalked that up to Brandon just being jealous of his uncle stealing all of his dates. It wasn’t that Stefan went out looking for younger people. It was just that they were the ones who were usually up for a night of fun with no strings attached. People his own age were more inclined to want to settle down. Or not be out drinking and fooling around til four in the morning.

Still he did try to choose companions that were older, but since people didn’t walk around with their ages printed on their shirts, sometimes it wasn’t until the morning after that Stefan realized his mistake.

One such example had been a few years ago with a young man he later found out to be a student at Hammel. Stefan couldn’t figure out why thinking about that young man when he was out drinking at the bar. And then he realized that said young man was sitting at the other end of the bar. And the years had certainly been kind to his gorgeous face.

“Did you come back to Pilot Ridge just for the chance to run into me again?” Stefan joked after he had walked over to where the young man was sitting. “Antosha, right? Look at you all grown up.”

Commitment wasn’t really Stefan’s thing, but reunions were a different matter.

Antosha wasn't really looking for a one night stand anymore. He'd much rather have someone he could hold in his arms and know that it wouldn't have to end whenever morning came around. But life didn't really want Antosha having a boyfriend at the moment, so he figured he would just settle for whatever came his way. After all why should he deprive himself of all pleasures just because it wasn't the one he wanted?

Speaking of what he wanted... Antosha smiled some at a man on the other side of the bar, a far far too familiar man. It seemed May was the month for running into old high school acquaintances. Though the man currently catching his eye was someone far different than Zachary Bishop. At least his relationship with the other man was a mild one. Stefan, though, was a completely different animal.

Amber eyes regarded the older man with interest as he walked over, taking a slow drink of his vodka before speaking. "Da. You know it. Couldn't keep away if I tried." He chuckled in his usual deep timber before cocking his head to the side. "Antosha, yes. Grown up... Well maybe just a bit. All of two inches since we last... Saw one another." There was a slight smirk as he gestured to the open bar stool beside him.

"I would say it was a surprise to see you here... But it is more a surprise not to see you here sooner. You are still the same alcoholic, yes? Find any more 'innocent' high schoolers to deflower?" The last part was mostly just a joke to show he remembered how they met, though Antosha was neither innocent nor a virgin when they first met.

Stefan, on the other hand, was way more interested in one night stands than anything more lasting. It’s not that he didn’t get lonely from time to time. Of course he would never admit it to himself. It’s that connecting with people and then having that connection hurt. Too much. And his leg gave him enough aches and pains.

Stefan enjoyed bumping into old acquaintances. Then again, Stefan enjoyed bumping into anyone as long as they were a living breathing person, that was enough for him. And sometimes even that was a requirement, but he tried not to bring up those escapades of his life.

“A whole two inches?” Stefan said, feinting surprise and adding a quick gesture to show just where his mind when with that statement. He helped himself to the bar stool beside Antosha and finished what was left of his drink. He signaled for another before turning back to the handsome young man beside him.

“Alcoholic?” Stefan asked, this time shocked for real. Among the things that Stefan refused to admit to himself, his drinking problem habit topped the list. “I’m much more attracted to the clientele than the beverages,” he added, adjusting himself on the stool so that he was closer to Antosha.

He laughed aloud at the young man’s comment. Even without his abilities, Stefan would have known that his companion had not been exactly innocent when they first…met. “I try to sample from all available age brackets.” Although truth be told, Stefan did feel bad sometimes when he discovered the person he woke up beside the next morning was still in high school.

“And you? You give any silver foxes a heart attack from overexertion lately?”

The Russian watched the older man with amber eyes sparkling with enjoyment. He wasn't one to complain about running into someone he knew. Hell he enjoyed it, almost as much as he enjoyed running into fresh new faces. It was really sort of a toss up as to which Antosha enjoyed more since there were equal opportunities in both.

A chuckle escaped him at Stefan's gestures, cocking his head to the side with a wry smirk. "Da, and there too. But that's mostly come with considerably more skill than was last available to display." He nodded slightly to the bartender as well, casually signaling his own drink would need refilled. "And considerably less metal surprises."

Antosha raised an eyebrow at the male's genuine shock, leaning forward some. At least Antosha could be honest. He loved alcohol, perhaps a bit to much, but even his degree of love for the spirit didn't come close to the affair Stefan would have with it. In fact, it was the fact Stefan was possibly inebriated that the two of them ever ventured down the path they did. The Russian smiled gently at Stefan leaning in, resting his hand on the counter beside them. "Yes... But I'm sure it is not the clientele who draw you here. However attractive they might be." His amber eyes flicked down Stefan's body as he attempted to return the compliment, to make up for his possibly pointed words. Not that he didn't find Stefan attractive. But Antosha was more attracted to the man's personality than his body, if truth were told.

"I hope you've stopped sampling from the younger brackets.. One day you'll wake up with a fifteen year old in your bed if you aren't careful." He glanced at Stefan pointedly before taking a small drink from his vodka. Since their relationship hadn't really been one that involved a whole lot of talking, Antosha wasn't quite sure on the older man's limits on the matter of age. So it was probably best he made sure he hadn't shacked up with someone with no morals. Especially since he wouldn't be opposed to repeating what had happened when they were both younger.

The next question had another cocky smirk cover Ant's lips and he leaned against the counter slightly as his body tilted towards Stefan. "Unfortunately, no silver foxes have found their way into my bed recently. My bed has been devoid of foxes all together, silver or otherwise."

If there was one thing Stefan enjoyed about the younger generations it was their openness in the flirtation department. Although there were some in closer to his own age that were more forthcoming with their advances, they were often far more subtle. Of course Stefan liked it all and loved to sample all around. That way his life could be well rounded.

“Sounds like you’ve had a lot of …schooling then,” Stefan said, giving Antosha another once over, trying to pick up anything else that might be improved. “I hope you never forgot your favorite teacher?” Stefan gave the younger man a wink, hoping his old companion would enjoy a brush up on his lessons.

Stefan could see the younger man wrestling with his shock. But Stefan only finished his drink with one large swallow and shoved down any feelings of self-doubt. He knew his own body. He knew he wasn’t an alcoholic. Just because he enjoyed his drink, that didn’t make him any different from the other people sitting around this room.

Of course Stefan could also see Antosha’s feelings of attraction hadn’t changed over the years. He decided it was best to stick with that line of thought. It had a much happier ending, after all.

“I may enjoy youth and stamina,” Stefan said, making sure Antosha knew he was talking about him. “But that doesn’t mean I’m some sort of cradle robber.” True, he had made mistakes now and then, but more often than not he realized them before things got into the bedroom. And while Stefan felt that having relations with those under 18 went against his moral code, he had no qualms about staying up all night drinking with them.

“Well we shall have to do something about that,” Stefan said, reaching out to lay his hand on Antosha’s thigh.

While Antosha would have liked to say he was a well rounded man, his string of past "acquaintances" would often prove otherwise. The most obvious of his tastes being that all the men were, well, men. Which didn't provide the sort of variety that Stefan undoubtedly had in his bedroom repertoire. Still, Ant would claim he took many different men into his bedroom. Gay, straight, confused. It was all the same if Ant thought he could help them.

Antosha wasn't unaware of the gazing eyes running up and down his body, and had he been any less confident he might have felt the urge to flex his muscles. But the panther knew exactly how he looked and rather than squirm under Stef's gaze as he might have done in his younger years, Ant just widened his cocky smirk. "Oh... I don't know... My memory seems to be a bit... Hazy. Perhaps I need another lesson? To refresh my memory, of course." His 'innocent' tone suggested everything but innocence.

The relief Antosha felt was slightly more than he had anticipated, but he remained his ever cocky self. Something that was all thanks to the ego stroking Stefan was giving him. Sure he hadn't thought Stefan would literally wake up with a fifteen year old. No... A sixteen year old would be more likely to fall into Stefan's bed. Hopefully , though, Antosha was just sort of pondering the worst scenario and none of this would actually happen.

A soft chuckle escaped his lips and he leaned forward more, pushing some of his weight onto the hand still resting on the counter. "Oh we shall?" His baritone echoed in his chest as he spoke. "How kind of you to volunteer."

Stefan did enjoy variety. And in his own way, he felt that his particular brand of companionship was helpful to those he came into contact with. After all, everyone needed a little lovin’ now and then.

Stefan couldn’t help but grin at the fake innocence in Antosha’s tone. It was one of the reasons he loved younger men so much. They could pull off that act so much easier. Not that Stefan was all that worried about the innocence those he invited home, but the effect of someone trying to fake it was adorable in a way. “Well we both know what a great teacher I am,” Stefan said. Yeah, he had no problem with ego in this area.

Stefan was thanking his lucky stars that he had bumped into the young man. He started to caress the thigh his hand was resting on, feeling himself definitely looking forward to the rest of the night’s prospects.

Still grinning, he leaned in to whisper in the young man’s ear. “So my place or yours?” he asked. “Which is closer?” He leaned in to give Antosah a soft kiss on the neck while waiting for his answer.

Antosha couldn't help but lean in closer to Stefan, drawn in by the hand caressing his thigh. It was instinctual for the Russian to lean into things that feel like petting. Really, it was and he was going to stick to his opinion. Amber eyes burned slightly at the older man, a soft smirk on his lips. Oh tonight was going to be good.

He didn't try to resist as Stefan leaned in to whisper into his ear, after all what reason would he have to ignore the advances of the old charmer. The kiss though, as soft as it was, elicited a low growl from the younger male even as his head tilted back as an invitation. He blinked, realizing what he was doing before he corrected himself. "My place." His voice was deeper than before as he pulled himself free of the older man. He stood up slowly, taking a step away from the older man to give him room. "My car or yours?" He smirked some, meaning the phrase in two ways. Transportation.. And an alternative location. Which, if Stefan did chose the alternate location Antosha would have to insist on his car. Much more room in a hearse than whatever it was Stefan had. (Not that Antosha could remember what car Stefan drove, nor did he care at this moment.)

Stefan didn't have the best memory in the world. Probably the result of all of his drinking fun-loving lifestyle. The one thing he could be counted on to recall was what people would respond to. Of course half of it was his ability kicking in. But it was also his memory. And he knew Antosha would love what he was doing to his thigh. Probably the whole cat being petted thing.

Stefan couldn't help but smile at the growl. He was a little glad that Antosha had offered his place though. Last time, Sebastian had been a bit awkward around the young man. Perhaps he was jealous that his daddy was spending time with another kitty.

"Yours," Stefan said, already rising from his seat and trying to pull Antosha along so he could remain in physical contact with the young man. Stefan had rode his motorcycle. And though he had a spare helmet, there wasn't enough room on his bike from what he had planned for the ride over.
