On the Count of Three (Sunar)

John and Jake were doing their very best to soak up the outdoors before winter hit. That meant that the brothers were outdoors every possible moment. And although they had promised Rain that they would be careful, since the twins had gotten over their fear about hurting themselves, they had start to pull stunts again. Though they mostly tried to avoid anything where they could really hurt themselves...at least on school property.

Still the thrill called to them. That and they'd been spending too much time on youtube instead of doing homework.

The brothers were currently standing on the training field. Each one held a huge inflated exercise ball they had "borrowed" from one of the training rooms tightly in his arms against his stomach, ready to run full speed towards the other.

"Okay," "Okay," they said, grinning. "On the count of three." "On the count of three."

"One!" John shouted, readying himself to run.

"Two!" Jake shouted, starting to bend his legs.

"Three!" "Three!" they yelled, started to run towards each other. The brothers took about two steps before realizing someone was watching them out of the corner of their eyes. Worried that is was someone ready to yell at them or rat them out, they skidded to a halt.

"Uh...whatcha lookin at?" John asked. He didn't sound mean, just curious and maybe a bit concerned that this boy was going to report them for doing something slightly stupid.

The weather was steadily growing cooler, much to Sunar's dismay. He had tried to spend the morning in short sleeves, but the temperatures had eventually defeated him and he had returned to the dorm for a jacket. At least it wasn't mitten and scarves weather quite yet; he wanted to pretend for just a little while longer that there could still be a warm day sandwiched between the cool ones. 

He had headed out to the training fields, hoping for more piles of leaves to jump in. If Connor had been in his room he would have pestered his friend to join him, but the other teen had been nowhere to be found.

Maybe he was with his girlfriend. 

And Dev was being responsible and studying, which was no surprise to anyone. 

So he had headed out alone. Fortunately he didn't have to feel lonely for long; there was already someone occupying the training fields. Or two someone's. You could never be sure with Hammel; they could have been someone's duplicates. 

He watched them begin to run towards one another with their enormous balls, wondering what they could be doing, and was disappointed when they stopped. But then they addressed him, which brought a   large smile to his face. 

"I'm watching you! What are you doing? It looks fun!"

The brothers's faces went from worry to grinning as soon as the younger boy finished speaking. "Well enjoy the show," John said, giving his brother a quick nod before stepping back to his original starting position.

Jake mirrored his brother's example before turning towards the other student again. "Count us down?" he suggested with a smile.

When the boys heard 'three' they started running towards each other again, holding the exercise balls tight against their waists. When they hit each other they the impact knocked them both backwards off their feet. After flying through the air for a bit they both hit the ground hard and knocked the wind out of themselves.

"Woah..." Jake said, pulling himself to his feet and rubbing his back.

"...that was crazy." John said, grinning a bit even though he was sore.

"How'd it look?" "How'd it look?"

Sunar pulled his phone out of his pocket as he counted them down, quickly tapping his security numbers to unlock the screen, and then pulling up the camera. He stopped the recording when they turned their attention back to him, giving them a thumbs up in response. 

"It was great, c'mere, I recorded it. Wanna see what it looks like from the audience side?" 

Maybe they would be willing to upload it to youtube, and give him credit if it somehow went viral.

The twins’ faces lit up when the boy said he’d recorded their stunt.

“Great thinking…uh…” John said as he ran over to watch, pausing for the boy to fill in his name.

“Jake and John” “John and Jake” they added to introduce themselves.

Watching themselves fly through the air was odd. As gestalts they had in some way experienced each other’s body flying through the air just as they’d felt their own. Now watching it from yet another perspective was a bit intense…almost dizzying.

“How could we fly farther?” John wandered aloud.

“More speed?” Jake guessed. “Though maybe something softer to land on too,” he added, rubbing his back.

“Maybe fire? A ring of fire to jump though?”

“Do it by the pond? Use a rope swing?”

The brothers, as usually, were a bit lost in themselves for a moment before they remembered their camera man.

“What do you think?”

“You’ll film it right?”

"Sunar," Sunar replied, and then fell silent while he played the video for the twins.

When the video finished he kept his phone out, prepared to text them the video, but instead of telling him what number to send it to the two had a mini conversation between themselves.

"Uhhh....yeah! I'll record you doing whatever!" He agreed easily. "Maybe not with fire, though, unless you know how to keep it contained...or I guess get a pyrokinetic to help."

Someone who had control over their power, of course; he had attended Hammel long enough to know what happened with a pyro who couldn't control their powers.
