[Sunar Chugani]

Sunar held a stack of paper under one arm; his other hand held a tape dispenser. He was currently staring with seriousness at the wall, which was already decorated with a handful of fliers: advertisements for drama club performances, advertisements for the talent show, PSAs put out by the GSA...

His fliers were much more important than any of that. No advertisements for events here, no PSAs about health and self-confidence. His posters could be considered PSAs, of a sort, but they were not tied to a club or an activity or a marginalized identity. 

No, his neon colored fliers were covered with a charcoal portrait of one Dr. Alexander Muller, along with large bold font that declared Dr. Muller For Faculty of the Month and HERO. 

Ever since the reclusive doctor had saved him and Connor at the retreat, Sunar had felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude and hero-worship. He felt that it was only fair that he express this in a way that everyone could see. 

He had also, of course, dragged his friends into helping him put up posters. Dev teased him about it, but Sunar had so far shrugged that off. He could endure some teasing in order to show gratitude. 

"We need to put these where everyone can see," He addressed the girl next to him. 

He and Maisie had arrived at Hammel within the same year, and he had been drawn to her, seeing a kindred spirit in her easygoing and artistic nature. 

"Maybe we could sneak into the main office and borrow the speaker for an announcement." 
 
That wasn't likely to get them into trouble.

Maisie looked at the board in front of them and frowned. Nothing was past date so they'd have to get a little creative when it came to putting them up. She could reach high places of course but then if no one could read the flyer's what was the point of that? "Announcement? I bet we could just ask them to say something during lunch??" she asked out loud. "Don't they usually do student announcements then? You could totally put in a request. Maybe if you ask nicely enough they'll let you make the announcement yourself!" she suggested optimistically. "For now, why don't we concentrate towards the edges? People always look out outliers don't they?" she shrugged.

She was more than happy to help Sunar with is project. It honestly sounded like a great idea to her. She hadn't had such an interesting time at the retreat but she was happy that he was safe after his misadventure. She looked at all the neon colors cradled protectively in her friends arm. "Where did you get that much colored paper by the way? Did you buy them all out at the office supply place?? Or did you like, I don't know, go to Kinko's or something?" she teased.

Sunar's jaw dropped at Maisie's suggestion. Just asking, of course. It was genius in it's simplicity. Why hadn't he thought of that? 

"You're the best, Maisie," He informed her as he stood on tiptoes to tape a flier above a row of fliers advertising a drama club performance. "I'm so glad I have smart friends." 

Maybe the front office would let him make an announcement! Mrs. Morgenstern was a little intimidating, but she put up with a bunch of super powered teens without throttling everyone, so she couldn't be all bad. 

"There was a sale at the art store a few weeks ago. I spent all my allowance." 

Thanks mom and dad for sending money  from all the way across the country; without their help he would be borrowing art supplies from the art room constantly, and as cool as Mr. Wentsworth was he probably didn't want all his supplies disappearing for Sunar's constant stream of personal projects. 

"I should've brought a ladder," He mused to himself as he tried to place his tape high enough so that his flier wouldn't cover the ones below it.

Maisie merely smiled. She didn't think she was any smarter than Sunny (her nickname for one of her bestest friends) but she did think that sometimes he missed the obvious. Well, so did Maisie when she was full throttling towards an idea. "No problem! I'll even go with you if you need the emotional support," she winked good-naturedly as she continued to look for a space to put the multitude of fliers. Luckily, Hammel seemed to have a lot of announcement space which would no doubt work in their favor. Sunny's fliers were also so colorful she had serious doubts about them being ignored at all.

"A sale huh? That's good then, pretty sure that stack would have cost you a fortune otherwise," she commented idly as she took a smaller stack from him and started fumbling with the tape. When she saw him struggling to get above a certain area she reached up and took it with a quiet. "Here wait," before her arm extended just a bit more and stuck the tape firmly onto the wall. "You don't need a ladder dude, you've got me!" she smiled as she took another flier, stuck tape on it and stretched her arm to attach it to a space just above the board.

Sunar's expression brightened at Maisie's offer of help. 

"You're the best!" He informed her, giving her a somewhat awkward hug given that his arms were still full of paper. "Everyone is gonna see these and know how great Dr. Muller is!" 

He made his way down the hallway, sticking up posters with something less than care; several of them drifted to the floor behind him. 

"I'm stoked about Diwali, d'you think he'll come? It's really neat to have a doctor at the school who's Desi, too, I hope he comes, but his name is Western so maybe he doesn't celebrate, maybe his family is more....more...." He gestured helplessly, more flyers falling to the ground at the movement. "Westernized."
