What's worse than having no heat in your dormitory? Having no heat and the power going out.

What's worse than that? Being in the men's room at the time.

What was Jay doing in the dormitories? Well obviously he was studying and tutoring! Can't become a teacher if you're not able to teach anyone anything, right? But right then was a small bathroom break for him while the one he was tutoring made the assignments given, when he got back he could hear the explanations.. or so he thought.

The wind was blowing through the building itself it seemed as the snow outside continued to create a heightened sidewalk. At this rate Jayson would have to spend the night at one of the dorms, which would be a very big deal if he had classes the next day. But with the way things looked he wouldn't be surprised if everything planned the next day would be canceled. Luckily.

This also meant more tutoring for that one guy, or for more people if this one got sick of learning for the day. It was all fine with him, as it just meant more money, seeing as people were kind of lining up to get tutored by him, though most of them were rich, spoiled girls who defined tutoring as some guy doing their homework.

So he took a break to go to the bathroom, which ended up taking a bit longer because when he entered a stall and started doing his thing (which he disliked sharing with anyone) the light suddenly went out, and so did the heat.

Well, at least he was warm where he sat.

Louis shivered as he walked down the halls of the university. He had been on school grounds since the early morning, using the on-campus library to try and catchup on his classes as was doing very poorly in them, and he hadn't found anyone to tutor him yet at the school. The Seattle native had left the library a few moments ago, having got the information he needed, and had ran through the blasting winds and almost slipping on some of the ground that had been covered with ice on his way to the dormitories. There was no way he was getting to his apartment in this weather, so he would at least spend his time trapped here with some human contact instead of paper and cardboard.

When he entered the building Louis felt a growing need in the lower parts of his body, causing him to head for the bathrooms first, instead of the common room. Upon entering the bathroom the lights in the building shut off, along with the heat, and left him in complete darkness and freezing in his own clothes. “Are you f***ing kidding me?!” He yelled out as he put a hand on the wall, trying to feel his way through the room. He had no need to get trapped in a bathroom, especially since he could be spending this time trying to meet more of his classmates.

Jayson was at the very least startled when the voice sounded through the area, the door swinging shut and someone cursing.. something as the voice, or the person attached to it, shuffling closer it seemed. Luckily the boy on the toilets was done doing what he had needed to and had done almost everything prior to the blackout so if he just kept quiet he would be able to keep himself from having to talk to this guy. But what he didn't quite account for was the smell of the air freshener seeping out of the stall. Lucky him.

This totally meant contact needed to be made before any awkwardness ensued. And what better way to do that than start off by not understanding what someone said? With this weather it could be expected that something was about to happen, so why jump to swearing when something did happen? It didn't make sense. And why the kidding part?

''Oh, hello.'' He hesitantly said as he slowly opened the door of his stall.

Louis jumped a little as he heard a male voice coming from a nearby stall, followed by a feeling of embarrassment as he realized that whoever had spoken had heard him yell. He moved along the wall opposite the stalls in the darkness slowly as he spoke, “Hey.” He paused for a moment before adding, “Sorry. I didn't mean for you to hear that.” The Seattle native had thought he was completely alone in the restrooms, and had though it completely safe to yell out at the fact he come in from the cold just to stay in it. The awkwardness of the situation wasn't helping with his embarrassment, and neither was the confusion that Louis could feel coming off the other male.

Even with a response thrown his way he didn't quite know how to respond, or keep responding. This guy (Jay had no idea, really, but he just assumed it was a guy due to being in the men's room. Weird stuff happened.) said he was sorry, that he didn't mean for Jayson to hear that. So, if he didn't mean for everyone to hear that why did he choose to say it out loud? Unless he had an ability with a side effect that made him speak his thoughts, though that didn't make much sense either as he hadn't even commented on the sudden voice coming from the total darkness. He just apologized first thing.

Maybe he thought he was the only one there? Not an entirely wrong train of thought, Jayson did the same on occasion though mostly to feel more at ease in case there were people.

''I heard it anyway.'' He replied with a straight face, which couldn't be seen anyway but if it was, it would surely scare him off. Ah, the social awkwardness of Jayson.. ''I suggest keeping to yourself if you don't want anyone to hear.''

Sadly he didn't say much else as he made for one of the sinks in the total dark. And even if for some reason the water was gone he would still have something to lean on.

The only way people would know more about him were if they stuck around long enough or were able to read his mind.

Louis continued to feel his way through the room as he felt the confusion from the other boy in the room. He didn't really understand the confusion, so the Seattle native just assumed that the other boy had started thinking about something when he spoke. Louis blushed a little out of embarrassment in the dark after hearing the flat sounding tone of the other boy, thankful that there was no way anyone could see his face. “Yeah, I kinda lost myself there. Normally I don't do anything like that. I had just entered the building after having to run through the mess outside, then the lights decided to cut out on me at the worst time.” The words came rushing out of Louis’s mouth at a breakneck pace as he tried to cover himself while moving further and further into the restroom. After moving forward a few more steps he suddenly felt himself bump into another person, who he assumed was the classmate he had been talking to, and jumped back in reflex. Louis wasn't really used to talking to people inside a restroom, let alone bumping into them.

Thank.. some higher power for his ability to map a room? He knew he couldn't thank god because he wouldn't make the power cut out in the first place, not on Jayson anyway. Though he was able to see how difficult it had to be for other people that he didn't say a word it seemed that this guy wasn't all that worried about it as the words he spoke just kept following each other without pause. Conversations had changed since he last had one, it seemed.

Jay would have moved over to the exit of the area without trouble when he suddenly felt the other boy, or person, bump into him. He bounced back a bit but kept himself standing, thanking the fact it was dark so that the other guy couldn't see him shake his head. But, in the defense of that guy there were now two possible reactions he could make. He could mention where the toilets were since this guy was obviously trying to get to one, or mention his ability seeing he was pretty much blind as a bat. That or his memory was shot.

''Is your ability echolocation?'' He asked in the knowledge that even if it was it shouldn't be long before their eyes would adjust to the low amount of lighting there. Thank god he wasn't scared of the dark, right? ''You talk a lot.''
