Rhett and Odion had a double date tonight with Avinea and her friend, and as usual, Rhett was working late this day. He needed to change jobs, but so far he hadn't found the time to go look for another one. He hadn't found the time for anything lately. He was feeling rather stuck with his life. He had thought that living by himself would be the greatest thing ever. He had thought that having Odion with him almost every time he was at home would be just perfect as well. But there was just something missing. Like he was missing. He felt like he was no longer himself, and that he was, lately, just absent from the world. He had been wondering if Odion had noticed, but honestly, he knew Odion had. And Rhett knew Odion was nowhere near happy with Rhett's mood lately. Nor was he with Rhett's work or schedules.
At first, Rhett didn't care much about it. Whether Odion was off towards Rhett or not was his problem. It wouldn't have to affect him anyway. But it wasn't truth. He wondered if Odion would leave him because of that, if Odion was ever going to give him some sort of ultimatum or just yell and be mad or something. He didn't want any of that. At all. He wanted Odion, happy right? And as he thought about, what made Odion happy was about the same thing that made Rhett happy, so there was really no objective of having both of them miserable. Changes were due, and they had been for some time now. It shocked Rhett to realize that he hadn't acted upon it before, when he blieved himself to be a supporter of change and new things.
Arriving at their apartment, Rhett ran towards Odion and planted an immediate kiss with his lips. If the fact that he sprinted through their living room instead of walking didn't say it clearly enough, maybe the huge smile in his face did, Rhett was oddly happy about something.
"I quitted." He said to his boyfriend before kissing him and running towards the closet. He had his clothes for the night already picked out, so he just took them and started to change in front Odion, which itself was also odd. "Are you ready? We'll be late." Soon enough, he was just arranging the yellow cardigans over the white shirt and putting some perfume, signaling Odion towards the door. "Let's go."
Rhett smiled, this time slightly, and offered Odion his right hand with the palm facing it so he would grab it. This promised to be a good night.
