Wanted: Massive Meta Hoard - The Bishops are Comin

MC2 has suggested a massive family of meta siblings. So far, all of them are open, but MC2 can claim one first, since it was his idea.
- All of the siblings are powered, and all are close in age.
-The Bishops' parents are both metas. Their mom has super-strength/super durability and their dad is a power mimic. Their mom is an architect and their dad is a medical doctor. They moved to Pilot Ridge after their first two kids manifested.
-The Bishops are well known around Hammel for being such a large family consisting entirely of metas. Think the Weaselys.
- There is at least one pair of gestalts, though the claimer may choose which age to make them.
- If no one wants a certain age, there can be twins that aren’t gestalts.
- If there are squabbles over ages beyond that, please be considerate and consider another age for your character.
- If you want a younger sibling, that’s doable as long as it’s birthday is at least ten months after the next older sibling.

-Secretly holds a grudge towards Savvy since she took the 'little girl' title that she used to hold. It's not that she doesn't love her, it's just she is a bit jealous.
- Absolutely Adores Gordon as he never really changed his attitude towards her when the the twins and Savannah were born. She also respects the fact that he treats her like a person rather than a younger sibling.
-Usually keeps her problems hidden, as she found that there was more to worry about than her issues and insecurities.
-Is usually very extroverted and happy, and loves to get under Zach's skin for being so shy. (All she is trying to do is get him to get out there more!)
-Enjoys her 'girl' talk with Katy
-Has a cat named Meow mix that may or may not have actually eaten Albert I, but she blamed it on the twins. Cause that was more believable and they didn't know what they did half the time, anyway.
-Saved Savvy when she fell into freezing water when she was just 13. It was taken as a shock to the family considering they expected Kailin to be the /last/ person to try and help her. Kailin says she had to, but deep down, she knew it was because she couldn't live without Savvy, no matter how much she was jealous of her.

- Number one most protected member of the family, since she's the baby, but also most pointed at because she doesn't have to wait until she's older for some of the things the older siblings had to wait for (dating, allowance, staying over at friends' houses, etc.)
- She used to lie and say that her power had manifested and she was communicating with animals, but she was saying that from the time she was 8, so people didn't quite believe her when her power actually manifested, until she got her companion animal to talk out loud
- She always wants to tag along to everything. She also is frequently crushing on her siblings' friends.
- She has been called a dumb blonde on multiple occasions, and hates it, but she can be a little gullible/over-trusting
- She is pretty violent with her friends, which comes from growing up in a family that played rough - she will also throw things when she gets mad for the same reason
- Secretly feels quite close to Zach, and will go to him for advice or if she wants to be around someone and not talk, and they have an unspoken agreement that if she ever does something really emotional they don't have to talk about it. Before he moved out, if she had a nightmare she would sneak into his room and sleep on the floor or in an armchair/beanbag/whatever he has in his room, and they wouldn't even acknowledge that it happened come morning. Now that he has moved out, she sometimes sleeps in his room for comfort reasons. And feels kinda creepy about it, so she doesn't tell anyone.
- Will happily watch Devlin play video games, but can't play them herself cause she is scared of getting shot.

So, in case you missed it, MC said in the cbox that we can all post ideas for family history that we can cobble into some sort of sense XD

So here are some of my concepts and questions on the family history, and some that were discussed in the chat box:
- the oldest siblings ended up taking care of the younger ones a lot, because their parents both had very demanding schedules
- the family had become entirely accustomed to meta kids soon after their third child, and it was assumed that every kid would eventually manifest and then they'd be sent to Hammel, no recruitment necessary, they moved after Zach manifested to a house in Pilot Ridge
- I think it would be interesting if between certain siblings there was an animosity because a younger sibling manifested earlier than an older sibling
- I want there to be a lake house/summer house involved somehow, and an annual family trip which involves packing everyone into a couple of vans with absolutely no personal space XD
- also, there should definitely be a treehouse (moved with them, I say)
- why did they take in their cousin and how old we're people when they did? If they didn't have a kid the year their cousin was born, why did they suddenly decide to stop? OR should the next member's birthday be moved up by a few months to compensate XD
- did they all have their own rooms, or did they share? And if they shared, who shared with whom?
- what about extended family - were there as many aunts and uncles as there are siblings now? What about grandparents? Are/were they close? Or did the grandparents not approve of them constantly fornicating
- pets? Were there family pets? Did individual siblings have their own pets? I could see pets being a source of annoyance between siblings ("don't make me feed your bird, it hates me" or "that's not my gerbil, I don't have to clean out its cage, it's [so and so]'s")
- what kind of house rules are/were imposed on the kids? Chores, curfews, and rules about when they can have a car, when they can date, if they can go to R-rated movies, etc.
- were there any real family bonding experiences that occurred? Things that forced them to let go of their sibling rivalry, etc?
- what nicknames were given to each other and why (e.g, Gordon called Gabs or Gabby cause his initials are GAB and he talks a lot)

For my part, my answers are...
- after the first five kids, they moved into a bigger house, and people started off with their own rooms but then had to consolidate and more kids joined the family - the nursery constantly was cycled through and then there were 8 other bedrooms. 1. Master bedroom (parents), 2. Guest bedroom, 3. Devvy, 4. Zach, 5. Aurora, 6. Gordon, 7. Claudia, 8. Gaige, which eventually compounded into [before anyone moved out] 1. Master bedroom (parents), 2. Devvy, 3. Zach, 4. Aurora 5. Gordon & Gaige 6. Claudia and Katy 7. Lany and Kailin, 8. Twins, nursery: Savvy
- when they moved, they had slightly more space as well as a guest house (which became the place the kids would secretly take their significant others), the rooms were as follows: 1. Master bedroom, 2. Devvy, 3. Zach, 4. Aurora, 5. Gordon, 6. Gaige (bedroom off of the basement - previously inhabited by the twins until they cut his hair in the middle of the night and he demanded to be moved into the room with a lock), 7. Claudia and Katy, 8. Lany and Kailin (attic), 9. JJ, 10. Savvy (originally an office)
- now that Devlin and Zach have moved out, the rooms have shifted as follows: 1. Master bedroom, 2. Claudia, 3. unoccupied (storage), 4. Aurora, 5. Gordon, 6. Gaige (basement), 7. Katy, 8. Lany and Kailin (attic), 9. JJ, 10. Savvy (office)
- the parents were out of the ordinary in having so many kids, as they each had only 1-2 siblings themselves, and their parents were skeptical of them having so many kids (oldest kids liked the grandparents more because they got better gifts - the more kids, the worse the gifts from grandparents became)
- no family pets, just individual pets, and each is responsible for their own
- possible chores: vacuuming, dusting, dishes (though they have a dishwasher, they have to load and empty it), making/arranging dinner once every two weeks (depending on their ability to do so), grocery shopping, other errands, trash, recycling, cleaning kitchen, cleaning bathrooms, cleaning own rooms, cleaning cars, yard work, laundry
- possible rules: pay for your own gas, never bring a car back with less than 1/8 of a tank; no using the car alone until after you've had your license for 3 months, and then no driving friends until you've had it 8 months; if you have the car, you're required to pick up siblings if they need it; no drinking underage; no smoking (though they might do so secretly); no closed doors with members of the opposite sex (or same sex, if openly gay or bi) - in fact, no opposite sex people in their rooms at all; no r-rated movies until 17 or approved by parents (this lowered over time until for [17 y.o.] it was 16, for [16 y.o.] it was 15, and for savvy it was if it happened to be on); no pg-13 movies until 13 (this only applied to the first 6 kids); no dating until 16 (lowered over time to 13); no cursing (frequently ignored); no using powers against siblings (also frequently ignored)

- nicknames for Zach: not a nickname, but frequent joke of "cheer up, emo kid"
- nicknames for Aurora: mom (jokingly), Aura, Rory, Roy (Savvy's nickname for her)
- nicknames for Gordon: GAB, Gabby, Gordo
- nicknames for Claudia: Claud, Claws, cuz (when being passive aggressive toward her)
- nicknames for Katy: Angel
- nicknames for Lany: (can't think of any)
- nicknames for Kailin: Kales, Ceci

Yes! A treehouse. Something that evolved over time as the older kids grew out of it and so forth.

As for the cousin, this is just an idea. But what if the aunt or uncle or both were either sick or in an accident. So there is no biological Bishop kid at the time because the Bishop parents were trying to help care for them and thier child. After the accident, either because they died or where physcially incapable, they could no longer care for thier child, so the cousin became part of the family.

Definatly shared room. This would be great becasue there could be more conflict in some case between siblings who had to share, or even sibling who are very close because they actaully enjoyed the sharing.

I also vote for individual pets. Not only does this leave it open for each char to choose to have one, but it create insteresting conflicts "He let his snake loose in my bed, again!" Or "Her cat just threw up in my new shoes!" That kinda thing.


And yes I love the nicknames. John and Jacob hate it when everyone sings "ohn Jacob jingleheimer Schmidt", but that doesn't stop them from singing it. Also the nickname "JJ" is used for them and refers to them as a group.

And it's great about their parents being out of the ordinary for having so many kids. Creates more conflict too when the grandparents gifts start to die off... "But he got a computer for his birthday, how come all i get is a pair of jeans?!?"

With a family this big chores are a must. I can see the chores becoming a type of barter system between the siblings. "If you promise not to tell mom i had a boy in the guest house...I'll do your dishwasher duty for a month" And so on...
