Let the Spoiling Begin (Desiree/MoJo)

Gladys tried to have some one-on-one time with each of her grandkids from time to time. That being said, with a dozen grandkids all with their own lives and schedules it wasn't always possible to keep up with everyone one-on-one. So sometimes when the grandkids had a day out with Grandma, it was more than just one of them. Today it was Desiree and MoJo. 

And also, though Gladys hated to admit it. Her sign language skills were less than perfect. She often had to ask MoJo to slow down or repeat herself. So she liked to have one of the other siblings there to help out with translation if needed. 

She'd decided to take the girls out to the mall, figuring they could do a little shopping. Maybe hit the ice cream or doughnut shop. And then either grab a bit to eat in the food court here or stop somewhere else afterwards. She would leave it up to them. Her bones weren't aching too bad today, so she didn't think walking around the mall would be too much trouble. And with Desiree here, she figured she could always sit for a little and let the girls walk around by themselves if needed. 

"So girls," Gladys said, making sure to speak where MoJo could see her lips moving. "Which stores ya wanna go in today?"

It had been quite a while since Desi had gone for a day to her self, and even then, it wasn't just a day of her own. Gramma and Mojo were coming along, and since she rarely had found the time to spend with them, she felt it was a great opportunity. It would also give her a chance to touch up on her sign language, because she had been lacking in that department.

"I need a few nice dresses," Desiree grinned, looking down to see if Mojo had any trouble understanding. Her little sister never seemed to have trouble, being the girl that she was, but it never hurt to ask for a little help in her eyes. If Gramma asked for some help, she would graciously give her said help.

Now, MoJo wasn't really the type of girl who loved shopping and dresses and 'girl time'. At least not yet. She was only thirteen, and much more interested in running around and getting dirty than walking around a mall all day. However, MoJo didn't mind - because she was with her grandmother and her oldest sister Desiree - two women who MoJo didn't get nearly enough time with. Plus, shopping with grandma meant new clothes - a luxury in a house with 12 children - mostly girls. MoJo had enough hand me down clothes to last a life time. But the 13 year old was certain the outing could result in a couple new shirts - and maybe even a comic book if she could convince her family members into the book store.

"I need new pants again," MoJo admitted, a look of annoyance on her face, while her sister was still looking her way. Her newfound ability caused quite a few holes in her jeans - either from falling at high speeds or an incredible amount of friction in between her thighs. "I want a comic book, too. Dad gave me $5" she added with a definitive nod. She wasn't too hard to please - pants and comic books. Though she was sure he grandmother and sister may try to shove her into a dress at some point, MoJo was still pretty content with the situation, and frankly just happy to be away from all her younger siblings for the day.

Gladys wasn't exactly a rich woman. And with twelve grandchildren sometimes it was hard to do the amount of spoiling she wished she could. That said, she had always been good about saving her money. And a gret majority of that savings went towards her family. After all, it wasn't like she would be able to take it with her after she was gone. So she didn't mind if times were sometimes tight when it meant seeing a smile on her grandkids' faces.

"Sounds like dresses and pants first then," Gladys said, as they headed into one of the clothing stores. Though Gladys grew up in a time where all girls were supposed to love wearing dresses, even at a young age, she had always been very accepting of anyone's fashion choices. True, some choices left her scratching her head in confusion, she didn't judge others one them. With the exception of some girls who could use a little more clothing to cover up. No reason to show everything to everyone.

"And a comic book?" Glady said slowly, looking to Desiree to make sure she'd understood MoJo right. Since 'comic' wasn't a word used often, she was guessing that's what MoJo had signed. "And you keep your money in your pocket for another day, sweetie."

Gladys wouldn't mind looking in the bookstore for her husband too, he could probably use something new to read. And she enjoyed spoiling him just as much as the rest of her family.

"How's work and school?" she asked the girls.
