Chewing on the piece he had bitten off of the pickle he awaited her response, simply sitting there with his elbows on his upper legs for support as he found himself turned to her as if they were in serious conversation. Never would he think her capable of such a thing, but she talked and talked, requiring answers here and there and if she really thought men shit, it'd likely be a deeper issue. So why wasn't her brother here? He mulled it all over as she just smiled at him as she told him Rayne was a lucky girl.
It very nearly got his mind back to the topic of the Russian girl, but the more prominent thing on his mind right now was for some reason why she took time to talk to him. She had a brother in the house and could say no to Jay at any time, yet she didn't and took up talking to who was barely known to her. Hell, it took a few glasses of alcohol before she really talked to him!
Still, she was there, with him. Nothing further to look for. Was there? Surely not.
He took another bite of the pickle and with a nod swallowed the remnants of what he chewed up. ''Apparently not happy enough.'' He replied instantly and without a smile as he shoved in what was left of the pickle.
Then she talked about how he was and people around him would see him as, girls specifically. Wait, girls? They were talking about Rayne, and she was a girl but why did she look at him in the light of how other girls would see him? Did she think that little of herself that she couldn't look at him her own way? Though it could also be that the alcohol was getting to her a bit and she wasn't able to have a unique view just yet. Which was further explored by how she repeated her own, slightly illogical choice of words. Twice.
''I'm not gay, Jen. And I know how people see me. The silent type.. I don't mind being called that. But try seeing beyond that. Just try. I know it's hard, but am I any different from any other guy you've met? And if so, how do you know?''
