He nodded. Maybe she was right. Hell, she'd been right before so why not with this? Still, he did agree with family being a tricky business though he wasn't all that happy with her when she said he could call. Obviously he could, but it'd open up a can of worms he wasn't sure he could handle. Maybe he'd need to explain to her why before stating he wouldn't.. He did look at her though, holding her hand without having any intention of pulling away, she was there and he liked it. Just holding hands was what they did, just that, but it felt comfortable enough, something Jay hadn't felt in a long time.
''I'm not going to call anyone, the reason for those pills is partly because of me.'' He told her, his hand tightening around hers. ''When I changed to.. how I was last night my parents kind of shunned me, my brother did as well.'' He continued with a knot in his stomach as he forced the words out, not only because they belonged to a memory he'd rather forget, but mainly because he wasn't used to explaining himself without being asked anything. ''I rather not call them and remind them of who they cut out of their life.''
''Thanks for listening though. Sorry if I bored you.'' He instantly apologised, clearing his throat and shifting in place.
He then turned his attention to another subject when she also did, namely breakfast. He did promise her as she reminded him. But the truth was he didn't feel like making breakfast right now, he needed time and perhaps someone making breakfast for him was just the thing he needed. But he wasn't going to ass Jen, she was a guest after all. ''If my hopes are up about you it is because of what you have shown me.'' He assured her.
''My back is still itchy.'' He said in an attempt to joke, but he wasn't sure if it was a good one. Still, she did raise a valid question, what about breakfast?
''Tell you what, if you can wait for me to take a quiick shower I'll take you out to eat. I'm not in the mood to make breakfast.''
