Wild and Wacky Weather
Izy can correct anything I have to say, since this is her area of expertise. However, all of the news I've seen has reported that this year's El Nino could triple the snow and rain this winter, as compared with last year. Last year was hard on the North East, particularly New England, which means that Vermont, Pilot Ridge, and Hammel have a lot to look forward to.
There will be a series of weather updates and prompts over the next two months, which will include some mandatory events* (possible blizzards and black outs), as well as some more localized events (such as flooding, acute storms, etc.)
There will be three ways to participate in this event. The first is to make your own threads specifically for the event. These should be labeled "WWW" with the thread title, and then linked to this thread, and they can be posted as soon as we have the first weather update. The second is more passive, which is to simply mention the bad weather in passing in a thread or journal entry, but without making it your focus, and those do not have to be labeled or linked. The third is to post here requesting a random thread made with a random character or group of characters, and those will be created by staff and linked here with your assignments.
The rules: All threads are site canon. By signing up, you agree to post with whomever you are assigned to, in whatever situation. Threads you create yourself are also site canon. Weather manipulators will only be able to make this worse and not better, but feel free to play that out. If a major event affects your area, you will be notified and IC arrangements will be made.
What to do: Sign up whatever characters you are interested in playing, and how many threads. Otherwise, keep an eye out for each weather update, and label and link your personal threads accordingly.

*When we say mandatory, we mean that your character is living through it, like with the Talk. It doesn't mean that they have to actively participate, or even have threads at all, but it is happening around them regardless.
