The Doctor Is In

Dr. Alexander "Lex" Mullur
 profile-limits&needs

Patients:
Available to address any medical needs of Hammel's students and staff. Has notoriously poor bedside manner and a quick temper so don't expect him to sugarcoat anything. Will verbally chastise any that neglect or are indifferent about their health, participate in risky/dangerous behavior, or, and what he looks down on the most, hurting themselves or others with their powers.

Friends:
I see him having very few of these. While Lex accepts and distinguishes certain people as friends, those relationships normally fall apart easily, the man seldom putting enough time/energy into maintaining friendships or Lex's quick temper and tendency to hold grudges creating rifts and ill feelings. Any friends of Lex would have to be extraordinarily patient or easy going enough to deal with his abrasive and reclusive nature. The majority of Lex's relationships will be acquaintances with mutual respect for one another, or professional relationships with Hammel's staff.

Enemies:
Very easy for Lex to form, whether it be caused by the snarky remarks he makes in jest, his inability to let go of even the most minute affront, his brutal honesty, or his lack of emotional intelligence.

Romance:
Despite his need for solidarity, Lex is still looking for love with anyone of any gender. However, any potential suitors are warned: this man comes with a lot of a baggage. His insecurities cause him to lash out when he feels put down or inept, and his last relationship ended in heart-break making Lex hesitant and reluctant to start a new one. A perfect match is someone who doesn't need much attention and aren't afraid to spell out what they need emotionally from Lex, as he struggles with reading people. Really flexible where I take Lex's romance with, whether it be a failed relationship, committed, etc.

Misc:
Tidbits for quirky plots:
- Lex hates the smell of cooked meat
- Is completely technologically illiterate
- Hoards shinny objects in a drawer in the desk in his office

[Sunar Chugani]

I have every intention of plotting with you, jsyk.

I have two characters to throw at you (well, I also have a third, but he is kind of on hiatus right now)! Sunar is a student, and he is HYPER AND FRIENDLY AND LOUD so I am sure it will thrill Lex to no end if Sunar ends up in his office for any reason, which is of course a reason to do it. And given several of the threads he is in right now he might need to see Lex soon enough

The other character is Dr. Tsukiko Aoki! She's a pediatrician at the hospital, so they might have some professional acquaintance? maybe they can be forced to interact through some continued education work shop? she is also not fond of sugarcoating, so they would also have that in common haha.

My baby Aerina is a transfer from India, and plans on working in the medical field, so she's building up her experience and would love to volunteer for Dr. Mullur, if he's willing. She's friendly and bubbly, though a little naive, so Lex might become impatient with her. She doesn't take criticism badly, though, and strives to do her best in any situation. What do you think?

Sunar is a beautiful cinnamon roll character and I'm totally up to plotting with him. I'm totally up for his impromptu visits, while Lex would be less than pleased and therefore it's perfect. Plus would make any formal visits much more meaningful; just because because someone gets on his nerves doesn't mean he would wish harm or illness on anyone.

I really like the idea of a continued education workshop. The one thing I can see them having some issues is that Lex has the tendency to be sarcastic and salty, especially when he perceives he is being patronized which he might at a workshop.

While he would at first reject any request to work under him, I could see him giving in once he saw how much Aerina reminds him of himself. And, therefore, he would be really hard on her, knowing the struggles of working in the medical field and the toll it can take. He wouldn't allow her to be present during appointments for confidentiality reasons, but he could teach her some things on the side.

Count me in with Dryope for a Continued Education thing. I have Dr. Robert Terrell, who is a surgeon at Maddock. He can also be a grumpy fish with coworkers (mostly his own team), but he's generally pretty good with patients, thankfully.

I also have a few students. Connor Anderson, who has cell regeneration and wouldn't need to see the on-call doctor unless he was quite sick or something. But I also have Jesse Adams, who is nightmare fuel for just about any of the on-call doctors that have passed through Hammel. He is untrusting, flighty, and more or less the Worst Patient Ever. ... Which obviously means I throw him at any medical staff available for giggles. I'm mean that way.

I also have a few staff members - namely a recruiter (Midori Hawkins) and a home ec teacher (Mallory Reynolds). And a nursing student (Alexander McKenzie) that is in his third year of nursing school. He's shadowed at Hammel before and he liked it, so there is that as a possibility too. ^_^

1000% on board with this. I checked out his profile, and I think Lex's reaction to him would be hella hilarious.

I'm up for this; also like the generation gap when it comes to appearance between these two. Plus love the fact that they have the same name and similar nicknames.

Yay! Well I do love to torment him. He's easy to get sick or hurt... he does need to be careful with his knee. He tore some ligaments in his knee last year and had surgery to fix it.... We must plan!

And my Lexy would love to shadow again if the opportunity presents itself. He's very respectful. <3
