Friends

Before talking to Dustin, he might come across as a bit cold or just really quiet and shy, but once you start talking to him, he is someone who easily befriends people. He is always open minded and someone who is willing to give people a chance, he is a loyal friend but he is also someone who doesn't open up about personal things and he has a few things he would like to keep secret even from close friends.

Enemies

While he is pretty conflict shy and would rather avoid confrontation and issues, if you get in his face or if you say something, he won't just take it. He doesn't make enemies that easily though and if he doesn't like someone, they might not even know that he doesn't like them unless he feels the need to say something.

Romance

While Dustin likes the idea of maybe one day meeting someone, he doesn't see that as likely anytime soon. He is gay, but this is a secret that he is not prepared to share, he isn't all comfortable with himself yet. If someone gets really close with him, to the point where he would be willing to open up about it, things may change. He would maybe be willing to give a girl a chance, but it would probably end up being more about using it as a way of hiding his sexual orientation and about status among the students than about feelings for the girl.

Hello, Weegie, welcome to Hammel!

I have a couple of students to offer you! I also have a few adults, but as none of them work at the school they're all less likely to run into Dustin.

Sasha is in the same grade as Dustin, so they probably have some classes together. c: Also, she hates all insects and he hates wasps, we could have a wasp get into the room they're in and they can freak out together.

Additionally, I think it could be HILARIOUS for them to date one another as mutual beards. Well, Sasha isn't really sure who she likes yet but still. She's trying to be Very Perfect, which means she should present as straight. And she'd be relatively safe to date in one sense because her power makes kissing EXTREMELY out of the question, so they could pretend and nobody could harass them about not kissing, and then one of them meets someone else and they have to pretend to have a dramatic breakup. Or maybe they have a very real dramatic breakup, despite not having romantic feelings for one another.

And then Dustin is on the soccer team with my character Jeff, who is a few years older but he'll hang out with Dustin anyway because TEAMMATES. Also possibly Dustin reminds him of his baby brother, so there's that.

My last student is Sunar and he's very hyper and ridiculous. He's bisexual and in a relationship with another boy, and he ALSO hates math. He could probably start a club for people who hate math.

I pretty much only post on Sunday, as a heads up, so you don't wonder if I hate you when I don't post faster than that. I don't hate you! I'm not bored with our thread! My time is just being sucked up by small children.

All of them sounds really cool!

Mutual beards made me laugh, though he is not telling anyone that he is gay, so if he was to use her as a beard, he wouldn't tell her about that unless it got to a point where he just felt too horrible about lying to her. Though, a girl who he can't kiss or touch? Sounds like his kind of girl.

Adding a wasp could lead to a very interesting encounter for sure, he is someone who usually stays cool and calm, but a wasp makes this difficult.

With Jeff there could maybe be some sort of a welcome to the team kind of thing, Dustin just got here and the first thing he did was to make sure he joined the soccer team. Could be nice.

If Sunar is all hyper and ridiculous, it could be a fun to see the interaction with Dustin who is calmer and might either find him annoying or entertaining, depending on how it would go.

Any of them sounds good really, throw whoever you want to throw at me! Come at me!

Would Dustin have any reason to speak with the school psychiatrist? Alternatively, would he be in the Peer Mediators, the Student Activities Council, or the GSA?

He wouldn't voluntarily talk to the school psychiatrist, though he would go if he has to. Considering how he was in foster care and the school might know some of his past, I could see him getting told to go there for a talk though. I'd be up for it if you think he would be told to talk to Sean.

Given his background, I think Sean would want to talk to him, just to check in and see how he is.

Hi! We haven't really gotten a chance to meet/plot yet, but I'm Rikki!

I'm going to throw Rory at you currently, because she's also fourteen and relatively new to Hammel. She's (normally) very friendly and extraverted, and it's her goal to make as many friends as possible. She's also a little boy-crazy, so she'd definitely think Dustin was a cutie, though as a telepath I'm not sure how long his secret would last before Rory caught wind of a stray thought. xD

My plotter is in my signature, so you can check it out and let me know what you think! I'm a bit swamped right now, but I'm hoping to dig myself out of my post-hole by the end of the week. I also have Layla, who's a teacher at Hammel, and two older students, Jamie and Cleo, so you can see if any of those three would fit as well. =D
