Mayu was wide awake at 5 that night, which was something normally going on whenever it was break time. However it was the day before her birthday and normally Ant was busy getting everything set up. But they had spent all day getting ready for tomorrow and the house was sparkling clean because of it. Everything was washed, cleaned, and put away except the obvious; them. Ant had come up with the grand idea of them baking a cake, something they did every Christmas. He had set out the sprinkles, frosting, and ingredients. Everything was planned out.
There was only one problem. Not one of those ingredients got into the giant mixing bowl. All around them devastation was going on, in the form of war. Who started this war was lost on both of them, but it was fun that was for damn sure. May dipped her hand into the almost empty flour packet and sent a handful of white-fluttery goodness all over her older brother. She laughed, dancing away at he dumped more frosting on top of her. “I shall never give in to your evil plans!!” she yelped, falling onto the floor covered in frosting and flour and just about every other ingredient you could possibly think of for a cake.
Mayu was already covered in flour from head to toe and her brother matched her own appearance. Her pigtails-braid were soaked in various colored frosting and she looked absolutely happy. “Alright! I give, I give!” she was laughing, sprawled out on the floor when the doorbell rang. Aw crap, she forgot to warn Ant that Ash was coming over to spend the holidays with them. Not that he’d care, but it was the thought that counted. “Coming Ash!”
she pulled open the door and gave her friend the biggest hug she could muster, smiling widely before backing away and blushing. Why did she just do that?
