Also. Sorry ahead of time for anyone who doesn't wanna read through the lyrics but since the song isn't ACTUALLY a duet I wanna explain what's going on.))
Marco was staring at the school grounds, joy and surprise written all over his face. Something that was mirrored on the identical boy beside him. Lucio might have been a bit more expressive though, if the huge smile was anything to go by.
They were here. Finally here. Hammel Institution, America, the land of green and dreams.
Granted, Kocher wasn't actually that of a depressing place but the pair weren't going to dwell on that. Eventually the pair stopped their gaping long enough to clap each other's hand, a sea of excitement and nervous energy erupting in their stomachs. Well, the excitement came from Lucio and the nervousness was on Marco's behalf, but they had long ago stopped worrying and dwelling on cross over emotions.
"What will we do first?" This came from the boy with his hair swept to the left, Lucio.
"We go meet our dorm mates?" The slightly more practical of the two, Marco, suggested this.
There was a pause as Lucio debated, a look of feigned concentration on his face before he grinned suddenly. Marco frowned- that look always led them into trouble. "Explore instead. We'll meet them later." Lucio said this with a sort of finality, pushing his huge dufflebag over his shoulder and tightening his grip on his suitcase. He already knew his brother would follow regardless, and while he would listen to Marco... Exploring sounded like more fun. The other twin sighed slightly before gripping his own suitcase tighter. He knew he should complain but... Lucio's excitement was infectious and before he knew what was happening they were already off and wandering their way through campus.
An hour or so later the twins found themselves stumbling into an abandoned looking room. Lucio frowned slightly and tilted his head left and right. He was disappointed at their lack of progress meeting American students. But when Marco looked around he recognized almost instantly what it was- a place to sing. Granted it was fairly dull looking, which wasn't a shock considering the only beauty America had was it's nature and diverse population. A grin pulled at his face and without waiting to explain to his twin, dropped his bags and made a bee line for the stage. Now this was something he could do. Let Lucio meet all the people, let Lucio have to follow him for a change.
It took little prompting before Marco closed his eyes as began to sing into the dark room, faintly aware of the fact his other half had gathered the abandoned possessions and was climbing on stage with him.
"Tell me that you're alright,
Yeah everything is alright.
Oh please tell me that you're alright,
Yeah everything is alright."((this is the chorus)) It only took his brother the first few lines before he pulled out his phone and picked the song so they'd have music to guide them. After all, they had learned a lot of their English simply by learning to sing songs that appealed to them. Marco open his eyes and gave his brother a wide grin before continuing.
"Give me a reason to end this discussion,
To break with tradition.
To fold and divide.
Cause I 'ate the ocean, theme parks and airplanes,
Talking with strangers, waiting in line..
I'm through with these pills that make me sit still.
Are you feeling fine?"
"Yes, I feel just fine." Lucio butted in, smiling widely as they fell into an easy rhythm of treating the song like a conversation. It wasn't actually the first time they'd sung this, so it helped their timing.
"((chorus))
I'm sick of the things I do when I'm nervous
Like cleaning the oven or checking my tires
Or counting the number of tiles in the ceiling.."
"'Ead for the 'ills, the kitchen's on fire! There was a short laugh from both boys at the end that interrupted their timing briefly.
"I used to rely on self-medication,
I guess I still do that from time to time.
But I'm getting better at fighting the future,
Someday you'll be fine.."
"Yes, I'll be just fine."
((chorus))
"Give me a reason" "I don't believe a word" They sung the next parts together, Lucio's slightly lower voice beneath Marco's more experienced one.
"To end this discussion" "Of anything I've 'eard"
"To break with tradition" "They tell me that it's not so 'ard"
"To fold and divide" "It's not so 'ard"
"So let's not get carried" "Away with everything"
"Away with the process" "From 'ere to in-between"
"of elimination" "The long goodbye"
"I don't want to waste your time."
((chorus))
"Alright"
"Tell me that you're alright," "'I, everything's great"
"Yeah everything is alright." "Everything's fine"
"Oh please tell me that you're alright," "'I, everything's great"
"Yeah everything is alright."
"Everything's fine" ((x4))
Marco grinned to his brother as the crappy quality of the instruments faded and they quickly high fived each other, breathing slightly harder than before for obvious reasons. Yeah, America was going to be perfect for them. A noise startled Marco out of the glow of having just performed his first song in America -granted it was to no one but his other half- and Lucio's eyes widened in surprise. Without thinking both boys called out into the darkness.
"'Ello?""'Ello?"
((Once again...
Sorry it was so... Long... And crappy... STUPID LYRICS XD...
