Ziggy had been practising, she had been trying to control her light. She still of course has no self control over her ability when she is scared, upset or angry, even when she was really happy it made an appearance. But when she was mutual which was a lot of the time she didn't glow at all, which has given her the opportunity to practise illuminating certain parts of her body. The other day she had her left hand shining brightly while the right was normal. It proved to be extremely tiring but worth it. She would give anything to be in completely control of her ability, her life would be lets say less humiliating.
It was Saturday and she knew she should be doing her homework but she just wanted to be outside and in the sunshine. Well she hated the sun so she would be sitting in the shadiest spot she could find. The warm breeze outside was inviting enough for her to leave her dorm and head out to the courtyard. To her surprised it was basically deserted. Where was everyone? Was there something going on that she didn't know about? She shrugged she wouldn't have attended anyway even if there was some social event happening, she hated crowds. She found the shadiest place on a small patch of grass, under a huge willow.
Ziggy sat cross legged on the grass and removed her freak hands from her pockets and examined them. She always hated her hands they used to freak her out and everyone else as well. In a nut shell they were basically just skin over bone, skeletal like. She had grown to like them over the time she was a Hammel. She knew that she was different but so was everyone else here. She kept them in her pockets most of the time as she didn't want to freak anyone out. She looked up from her hands and looked around the deserted courtyard, she loved it when it was quiet. No one around to watch her if her limbs started glowing.
Where she was sitting her back against the large willow tree's trunk she was surrounded by a curtain of long vines from the tree. Even if there was someone in centre of the courtyard they would have trouble spotting her at it's edge. She looked back to her hands and small smile dashed across her face and she dug her left hand into her pocket and retrieved a fistful of glitter and held it out in her palm. She closed her eyes and focused all her energy on the glitter in her hands. After a few minutes her hand started to glow and in turn cause the glitter to sparkle brightly, projecting bright colourful specks all around her. It was like a large crystal caught in the sunlight. She smiled as she watched all the colours. There was some good in her ability.
If anyone was walking by they would have seen a beautiful light show emerging from the vines of the willow. This fact she was unaware of.
